I really admire how chill and collected this runner stayed despite dying a lot. A lot of runners get really flustered and unhappy-which is understandable, with such a big audience-but the run is more enjoyable for everyone when they have a good attitude about it. Keeping your cool under pressure is impressive.
It's impressive, and my guess is that it's also required. It's better to keep your cool when you're focusing on something so difficult. Which is probably why Wyatt chose this soundtrack.
When doing extremely tough kaizo, you die all the time even after hundreds of hours of practice. Most speed runs aren't quite as difficult -- they might usually not die and have maybe a handful of super difficult skips or tricks to perform with a backup strategy. Here, he knows dying is part of the process.
I really appreciate that you guys took the time to stop and talk about the game all throughout. It really makes a run much more fun when you understand things more or learn a little bit of backstory about the creation/run history. Outstanding run all around.
Dear GamesDoneQuick Back in the day when you guys did your very first event I was blessed to watch and did so the entire event. You people really helped to change how videogames are regarded generally and helped out so many thousands of people worldwide that I can't thank you enough. You people are awesome and I bow to you
Time: 35m 59.6s kezcade: thirty-five minutes, y'know, i'll take it! man's got the old DOOM time-counting here lol, just for minutes instead of seconds - even so, this was a fun run to watch live!

I think knowing you're going to die a billion times helps with being chill when dying haha
Once you've played enough Kaizo, death is basically an old friend, and you’re not all that bothered by it

I am perturbed by how smooth the animations are on the final boss. Awesome run!!
Check out the Momodora series, the dev did a good job at making fun action platformers (mostly?) by themselves. Great stuff.
He's not even really speed running, standing still and explaining stuff to us while the timer runs, and he still makes an amazing time. What a legend.
They were not kidding about this soundtrack, it’s incredible!
Great song choices tho
It's even more impressive when you realise it's coming out of a super Nintendo

If i'm not mistaken in the second level the the song is from Donkey Kong Country. A remixed version, cant remember the level but im 98% sure
it's actually a song called Sleep Dealer by Oneohtrix Point Never. All the level names are the same as the song name.
You are mistaken, it's Sleep Dealer by Oneohtrix Point Never.
