There's Gdi tools and gdi extract both extract file from a gdi image. I prefer gdi tools. Its cmd with a python gui for those that don't like command prompt.
tried going it alone.... did some good research but in the end my attempt to to .cdi Sega Rally 2 ended up crashing at the Sega logo. :( I hope you decide to make a follow up video.
Hello, I really value Your work man. It helped me with burning a lot of modded games for my dreamcast. Im currently stuck with burning TrickStyle since it has Music tracks and with this method none of these superb tracks work. Would you please consider doing the tutorial for the katana + CDDA? It would mean world to me (and possibly others)
I did all the steps and when I went to go and open the file for a game where it shows the track. It shows a pic image not a disk. Did I miss a step for this to happen? 🤦♀️ I noticed it's a bin file not bin image how would I change that?
At the CMD part, When I get to the part when I type binhack32 I get an error saying “This application cannot be run on this PC” and won’t go any further. Is there any fixes on this?.
Try running as administrator. It uses dependencies from other programs...if that doesn't work try installing netframework from Microsoft and c++ redistribution again from Microsoft
I wonder that too my first one... there is a certain limit, until you have to start cutting down files which is for experienced people or your just going to make a bunch of costers
Ya I think the limit is 756mb i think. I think if memory serves the difference is bits and bytes. 2 different units of measurement. So it's actually does fit. I made a lot of coasters figuring out how to get it to boot. Some games just don't work and you'll have to look for modded release of the game. A quick Google of the game your looking for .cdi you should find a copy
There is a device that can turn your dreamcast disc drive into a hdd. But then you have to hardmod you dreamcast which I don't want to do because they are fairly rare. Also burn disc are hard on the disc drive soo keep that in mind

Are you talking about when open the GDI file to extract the games files. Or is it when your patch the IP.BIN
Followed the instructions to the T the last stepped failed saying no such iso exist. Anyone got a cure for this?

When I extract Force Five or Kenju it doesn't extract anything jus 1kb of a BIN file

Whew i got a bout 30% though this and gave up. great video but the process is just too long. i will just pick another game that is already cdi.
Lol I generally do to.... definitely not an easy process. Just imagine trying to figure how to do this back in the early 2000s

how are you able to burn the game when its clearly too big? CD-R's usually can only hold 700mb

@@justincase5704 it's weird. I burned sonic adventure to a cdr(the cdi is beyond 700mb) and it worked fine. My VA1 didn't take it though
