Mod any Wii to play Gamecube and Over 30 other Consoles!!!! From a Hard Drive

- This guide will go over how to mod your Wii to play all your games from USB HDD or SD card, as well as play all your favorite retro roms like Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Gameboy and over 40 other consoles in a well put together theme called Rhapsodii Shima. All your games from any console can be launched from one main screen, and each game can have its own box art of your choosing. All the apps and tools needed to setup like wiiflow and Nintendont are included in one download pack I’ve assembled. Again I didn't write any of the tools or apps I've just assembled them into one compressed folder. Use at your own risk. This video is for educational purposes only.
What you'll need:
-Any Wii
-SD card any size, I’ve used up to 128gb ( amzn.to/3WexKdb )

@@justincase5704 the Wads i installed on emunand dont work for me, the console re-launches or gets stuck; the same wads work if I install them on Nand but the entire Wad library cant fit into the wii NAND. Do you know why I cant launch the installed Wads on emunand ? Thx for the great tutorial
modded my wii 10 years ago and did a somewhat half-assed job. just barely got everything working.

It is a hell of a process and can be discouraging, especially with the amount of tutorial videos out there. That just never seemeinto workout as easy as they make it seem. but it is definitely worth it and there is nothing better than working through it. By the time you're done, you'll know what you're doing.
Agreed friend. This one was a great one to find amid the many, hard drive and SD card work wonders for this. Difficult to find a working, good hard drive that is USB 2 now a days, this is a great solution.
Need to patch ISO80 or IOS80(can't remember) to get a SD card >2gb to boot and use VC content without using up NAND memory but hell yea@@miguelquazar883

Love your guide. I did a badass custom mod about 10 years. I am having tons of trouble I never had before something about FAT32 and a large cheap external adapter
The most external adaptors work... but i have found a couple with a backup feature that prevents it working with most consoles. What kinds of device does your computer recognize it as
@@justincase5704 Thanks for the reply. I used another external drive instead. Still had lots of problems. Windows 11 file partitioner is crap. I used AOMEI and found a small hidden first partition that was making my USB partition #s wrong in the Wii. Working good now thanks!

Hello, what do i do if i dont want to utlize retroarch and instead use the standalone emulators in wiiflow? such as fceugx instead of the retroarch core? its because i find the retroarch cores are cutting off the screen and i dont want to go down the configuration rabbit hole.
With fuzzy renamer and psx bin/cue folders. Is there any way to get it to work with keeping the files bin/cue or should I use image burn and turn them to a iso but then will the modded wii load a iso for psx?
Hey man! Thanks for the work you've put into this. However, I'm falling at an early hurdle - when I click on the icon (envelope) in my messages, the screen guess dark then goes straight back to the main Wii menu, not the HackMii screen. Any ideas..?
For some reason, at the final step, my wii doesn't have an option for usb 2 but when I select usb 1 it shoes 400 titles, all of which cause an error.
Any ideas?

Does the HDD need more than one partition as in the past? or do you do it all under one partition?

A 2tb hard drive for you usb and 64gb-124gb for you sd card will give tons of storage.. I got some links in the videos description you can check out... hope it works out for you !!
@@justincase5704 I was able to go through your entire tutorial which is SUPER easy to follow, at the end the WiiFlow channel would not boot. I click the icon, get the first wiiflow icon and then get routed back to the main wii menu. Obviously I did something wrong - can I just factory reset and try again?
If wiiflow isn't booting it's either because wiiflow isn't on the usb/SD card. That's if your doing a autoboot or laughing from the channel
Or at least not in the wiiflow folder. Folder structure or file name is 90% of the issues when it come to wiiflow, roms and coverart problems
Some of my wiiware games won't play just black screen and remote won't register so I have to power off to get out of it, any idea why it does that?
why is showing 450 gamecube games cover i only have 1 gamecube game on wiiflow

When launching arcade game it revents back to the wii menu. I am presuming its a bios thing. Did you ever get arcade to work with wiiflow?

Hey brother, thanks for the video. I have a 4TB Hard Drive formatted, just wondering if I can use your file structure shown in the video to have everything, wii gc and the rest on this 4TB drive. I know you suggest having wii and gc on hard drive and the rest on the SD, but can I just put everything on the 4TB fat32 drive? Will I run into issues?
Just curious did you ever run into any issues? I'm debating on doing the same thing with a 2 TB drive I had an sd card but its pretty much a brick now I can't format it, delete add or edit files, can't do chkdsk, etc because fuzzyrenamer added some cache files that are above 256 Characters so windows can't do anything with them now so my only options are either redo everything on usb or buy a different sd card... I can't even copy files from the sd card lol its literally a brick now

I could be blind but are you missing an initial folder for 32x rom names? There's a folder for 32x boxart in WiiFlow. Outside of that great video, thank you for your work.
Maybe lol. Just copy the folder in the boxart and paste to the roms folder. As long as the folder name is the same it will work

Yup that should be fine.. wii games can be on the large size 7gb but most around 4gb and game cube 2gb

Hello having been following this tutorial but when you say go to wiiflow and get the folder for boxcovers, It's not in that folder. can I just make that folder myself? I also notice theres only 10 folders in that wiiflow folder and you have a lot more. Where are those other folders? any help would be appreciated. I've modded my own wii a few years ago, but doing one for a friend and found your tutorial which has been very good but just running into a few issues.
Copy the boxcovers in from the folder I pre-made with the folder or yes you can just make your own

Do I have to separately download mame? I see the folders for roms and boxart but every time I try to load a game it goes right back to the system menu.
I don't have Any bois files in the pack you'll need to provide those yourself

So i have a wii that was given to me, and im going to try this out. In video it looks like you used a 1tb hdd, so should i get the 2tb like you recommend? Also when i go to the cover art link it looks they dont have anything for nes or snes. Can recommend another site for cover art?
Nintendo keeps taking posts down of thier coverart so its a little hard to find them. I was lucky about 10 years ago lol. And 2tb is best... you can go larger but it takes a few steps to get the wii to recognize the drive and not all +2tb will work

I'm trying to get the covers for the NES, SNES, all the GBs, and N64 but it's deleted. So what I need to do?

on the WAD manager do i have to have my own wii ware games download myself or does that WAD manager add the games for me?
You have to have the wads stored on your sdcard or USB before, just like the roms you have to provide those your self... Google is your friend lol

when i start wiiflow, the start screen comes up and after a few seconds it jumps back to the wii main menu. So I can't start the wiiflow.
Make sure your SD card it setup right... the channel is booting then looks to your SD or usb for the wiiflow app if it's not there it return to the main screen
I have another wii, would i be able to transfer everything from one hard drive to another? I know i would have to modd the new wii again but as far as the wii games and gamecube games +wiiware. I have them in the 2tb harddrive, so if i bought another can i just copy everything from the first hdd to the new one?
Yup. You cam pretty much clone your SD card and hdd to any other modded wii.

Also just so everyone knows, there is a Trojan virus in the down pack called Vigorf.A. The file that contains it is the CreateCfg zip file. This file is located in the Part2/SD/hatari folder.
It's a false positive.. if you look at the comments a few people had there anti virus flags it, and lookup the file, it's not a virus.

Where i can find the wiistore folder ?
every gamecube download i find is .CISO is that acceptable? im having problems seeing them in wiiflow
Usually their .iso or .wbfs I've never ran into .cios before, maybe there compressed ?

For the most part yes. Copy the files over that say sd to SD. But you can put your all your roms onto the hdd. Some retro roms may cause issues that way but 90% will work
i am trying to find snes and nes cover arts but sadly it has been removed from the link you have provided. is wiiflow able to download the retro covers or is there any other way to get them ?

Ugh, I've been trying to do this for over 12 hours non stop now. Idk what the issue is but usb loader doesn't initialize my drive. and Wiiflow freezes at the splash screen. Even still I'm giving a like. Every other tutorial I've tried doesn't even get usbloader working. at least you are clear enough to guide people through it properly. and props as well for having everything all in one file, that's been one of the hardest parts of trying to get this working. I'll give It another shot tomorrow.
If your drive isn't initialized, double check it's formatted to fat32. If that's not it then double check your setting when you installed the d2x Cios. Base 56 and base 57 to slot 249 and 250.
@@justincase5704 Yep and yep, I've been trying to jailbreak this thing for so long its become muscle memory. Fat32 at 32Kb blocks, and make sure the base goes to the proper slot, even followed a few tutorials that said to set base 38 to slot 251
@@AstraPink Did the harddrive ever work? ive had issues with certain drives without an own power supply or a to low power supply.

@@Android-bd8ft It's just a thumb drive. I don't need a whole HDD considering my collection isn't very large. But yes it works.
UPDATE: After spending a whole day trying to do it, turns out it was indeed a hardware issue. Sometimes the drives you use just do not work even with proper formatting. After you get everything installed I recommend making a backup of the completely set up USB and DS cards just s you can swap out for another if the one you used fails to cooperate with the Wii. If I could leave a second like I would, your video was extremely concise It was simply my hardware that was the issue

Nope you can just drag and drop into the game folder and wbfs folder for wii

Try running cmd as administrator, right click cmd and open as administrator. You'll have to type in the folder location of wfc_conv, you can't drag and drop the file

Yup.. there settings in wiiflow to choose either usb or SD to load your roms and emulators.

so I have a 128gb samsung sd w/micro sd is that ok. I that the wii only reads up to 32gb, and that it has to be a regular sd card wtihout the micro sd. is that true?
No, you can go up to 2tb, but you have to have it formated to fat32... windows won't format drives larger than 32gb so you'll have to use the tool provided in that downloads pack to formate those drives

Ok i have an issue xD. My wii games are showing but if i try to boot them i get sort of a progressbar on the bottom and the system freezes.Using a 2TB HDD with wbfs folder.
What games.. check what port you plug the hdd too. It has to be plugged in the port closet to the edge of the shell of the wii, and make sure your hdd is formated to fat32, if it's ntfs the games will show but not boot
@@justincase5704 allright since you have been very helpful since the start let me explain a little on where iam at now. I modded my wii many years ago, and watching your video i got a little confused since my wii is already having the bootloader and an old version of wiiflow with a hdd with 1TB of games(wbfs).Now i have an empty 2TB HDD and iam trying to merge all games to 1 HDD,So I skipped your video the 1st time to where you setup a HDD but this got me nowhere. Now i tried installing the beta ios and all steps before except for the mailbomb. Im pretty sure i was just trying to be lazy. i appericiate any help, its just a little different when ur trying to upgrade an old version of an already modded system.
No worries. Most likely is the cios you installed years ago, are different than the ones in the pack... I would recommend to start fresh is format the wii to factory settings, you can do that in the wii settings. This will give you a fresh slate with the wii but you'll also lose your saves. That should remove the cios you have installed before that is probably conflicting with the updated ones... the process for installing cios has changed over the years. Once your formated your wii will nolonger be modded and hbc will be gone. Then you can go thru the video remod the wii etc etc... your hdd you should be able to drag and drop from you old hdd. Hopefully this helps

Where do I put the genesis and N64 roms? I put them in the roms folder on the SD card but the games don't appear in wiiflow. How do eliminate unused retro consoles? Where is MAME?
Thanks for the compliment. For the n64 roms there should be a folder on the root of your SD card called not64. There a few systems that don't work if roms are in roms folder. There should be a text file in the download pack listing them. For mame it's hidden by default, you can hide and unhide consoles in the wiiflow settings. Hope that helps

Those are in the roms folder, under 'Sega' , then 'Mega Drive'
The Genesis in the UK and every we're else but North America really was called the Mega Drive and same for the genesis CD would be Mega CD.

Some wiis will do that not sure why possibly if has wiimotion plus that could be it. If you have a GameCube controller that should work. Or try another remote. And see if your current controller is a wiimotion plus controller.

Only if you format your wiis system memory (fartory reset) but you don't have to do that for the process
Have you had success getting Atari 5200 games to work? I've tried everything in this guide as well as other steps and I cant get 5200 games to run. Any help would be appreciated.
It may an bios file to run. Like the Sega CD

I haven't tried I'm a few years... I'll check it out but I would see what bois file name is and if that's why or if it works on a pc emulator.
So i guess if you have a retro game that is a homebrew or modded game that isnt on the name list then it can't be added?

Like thanks eh... I did this for the first time with minimal messing around. I didn't add box arts, also had to load homebrew via dns then had to adjust or refresh the library locations

It’s recognizing my games on my hdd but it’s showing me every game in existence on wii and gc even though i only have a few added. The ones I have downloaded run and the others don’t but how do I remove from my list?
So wii and gc show games that aren't on your hdd? With cover art or with out
@@justincase5704 showed every wii game and every gc with no cover art, i deleted one of the wii games I didn’t have then they disappeared and only showed my downloads. Same for gc then I downloaded cover art for both. Weird bug but it worked out!

What file type are they. Ciso or iso, I can't remember if wiiflow is compatible with ciso

to add on: i tried to make sure it was properly installed and it wasn't i had gotten a prompt saying: "install using compatibility settings". do u have any idea how to fix this?
update: i figured it out. my roms were "ciso" so i just needed to add "c" to your prompt
Try running under different settings options and check that your anti virus isn't getting triggered by wit
