I saw a quicker way to make the candy grape freeze fast after you dip them in the candy mixture you have a cold glass of iced water and dip it in the iced water after you dip in candy mixture to make it dry faster
Chile, I use the dry powder corn syrup only during the hot summer months if my candy apples are going to be outside for parties or an event. The powder corn syrup slows down the stickiness and the breakdown on the candy. It's for high humidity. Other than that I love Karo too which is liquid light corn syrup. I hope this helps you. Now go and make some candied grapes or candy apples because you don't know what your tail might like until you try both...lol. Oh, and as far as making candy apples without corn syrup DON"T DO IT! They don't taste the same and I can tell something was missing. I know because I wanted to see for myself. But if you want to waste ingredients that's on you...lol.💕
Yes. I use it all the time on my candy apples in the summer due to the heat. It helps the candy apples hold up in the heat better vs. liquid corn syrup.
Thanks for this video. My grapes come out beautifully but once stored they break down quickly. Can you share your process of storing from the time their made to the time you sell/give them away
I made some candied grapes twice last week. The candy started melting off about 20 mins after I dipped them. It could be the amount of ingredients I used. I only did 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1/2 cup of the dry corn syrup powder. I have no idea why I used that mixture. Please help me out😂😂😂 I even had the air on 70. I feel defeated. I’m going to try to make candied apples this weekend😔
I really don't like making them due to the breakdown on the candy. This happens also if the grapes are not dried off completely too. Grapes release sugars and juices so you will have that. If you place them in the freezer as soon as you finish dipping them this will certainly help. They only last a day or two. Even if they do last after two days, I won't eat them after two days.
Yes, put them in the refrigerator as soon as possible because these breakdown fast. Your candy probably thickened up from using too much gel food coloring. I hope this helps you.💕
It's your preference if you want to use Hi-Sweet or the liquid corn syrup. Your candy apple mixture will not stay the same volume in the candy apple pot. As your candy cooks it reduces just like water. I use Hi-Sweet when I know my candy apples are going to be outside, on grapes, or cut fruit to prevent the candy from breaking down so fast since those types of fruits are juicy or leaks very fast. Candy apple mixture takes time to cook, but you can put your stove on about 5 to see if that helps. I hope this helps.💕
@@DIYQUEENDIVA why does it thicken so fast with one drop of coloring is there certain way I should mix it. Like how should it fill when I mix before cooking or after cooking it
The hint is don't put no more than a teaspoon of each color in your candy apple mixture. Use a teaspoon until you get the hang of it to prevent too much gel food coloring. You can put everything in at the beginning like I do or wait until the end to add your color after it reaches 300 degrees. It's just comes down to your preference.
@@bombchellez_24kt54 it could also be the candy recipe you're using. What are you using? If you use the one in the video tutorial you shouldn't have this problem.
I made some last night and it got on my fingers! I flung my hand and the mess slapped me in the face 😫😫. So now I have 2 burnt fingers and a lovely burn on my face 😂…😞
OMG! You must be very careful with that hot candy. That’s why you see my hands and arms messed up with burns. It’s very hot. I hope you get well soon.💕

Sounds interesting, but if you’ve been watching my tutorials- honey chile you’ll see I’m not trying to do no extra work. I keep it simple.😂💕
@@DIYQUEENDIVA so is the powder corn syrup better I heard you really don’t need corn syrup at all I saw someone make without corn syrup

@@DIYQUEENDIVA well I’m in Nevada where it gets hot so maybe I should try Powdered Corn syrup
Most definitely!
Can you use the dry corn syrup when doing apples? Or other fruits such as pickles, pineapples, apple slices, etc.

You're so welcome. Candied grapes and candied sliced apples break down really fast. The only thing you can do about it, is place them in the freezer.
after you make do you put in the freezer
Yes
Do you use liquid or gel food coloring?
Gel food coloring from Hobby Lobby most of the time.💕
Hi! Can we use the 6-4-1 recipe on candy grapes?
Yes, absolutely. You must have a lot of grapes to dip!
What’s the 6-4-1 recipe?
I'm just seeing this. It's 6 cups sugar, 4 cups water, and 1 cup light corn syrup. Add 1-2 teaspoons of flavor.

How long to cook the candy for because I’m trying but it looks like it’s taking forever to reach 300 degrees
😂😂😂 It can take up to an hour. It will eventually get there. You must have patience.💕

@@DIYQUEENDIVA ok that may be why then. I washed them and dried them but they may have not been all the way dry. Thank you
LOLLLLLLLL! Yes, make sure you keep them dry. I even place a paper towel over mine in a bowl to pat them dry right before dipping.
Are we supposed to refrigerate the grapes immediately after dipping the batch? My candy thickened up. I did something wrong.
