Abby could have just said, “Kendall don’t mark the leap” and nothing would have happened
the girls don't learn by being nice. kendall literally did her whole dance as if she was at home marking it. kendall needed to step it up. so on stage if she would of messed up that leap. abby would be able to blame her.

She was an emotional child and as seasons went on she became to grow insecurities as what Abby built into her and so in s7 she and some of the other girls talk about it

It makes sense for abby to get mad at her marking the leap. When it is close to the day of the performance/competition, you're supposed to go full out with the leaps and tricks included because if something goes wrong then they can fix it instead of risking an injury or something the day of the performance
Abby loved Kendall, I think she saw that Kendall had the talent to be as good as Maddie and Chloe. Jill just ruined it because she can’t tell the difference between being mean and telling critics.

But Abby is just straight up cruel. This is not how a teacher should behave, wielding their authority as a weapon. It would have been so easy to just tell her "Don't mark the leaps, take off your shoes if you need to" instead of humiliating her, comparing her to Brooke, and not even letting her finish rehearsing her solo. If you think that sort of behavior is acceptable, I truly hope you're never around children.
Amoolya She’s just preparing them for the dance world. The dance world is cruel and hard. Abby can be really mean sometimes, but this wasn’t one of them.
If this were an isolated incident, I could see where you were coming from. But taking into account everything she has done to these kids, including Kendall, she's straight up abusive. Saying "welcome to the real world" or "life isn't fair" is just a way that abusers justify their behavior
Abby liked Kendall because she has a pretty face, she said it when she picked her. Kendall wasn't the best dancer in the audition but that could be improve later. Everything would work out fine if Jill could just stay away and let Abby run her class. Quite often I see Kendall handled Abby's yelling just fine, and only see her anxiety whenever Jill steps in and made the situation worse. You could see that whenever Kendall lost her temper, she's yelling at her mom and not anyone else.

Kendall literally had an anxiety attack before Jill even stepped in the room soo?? It’s not just her mom. Kendall obviously didn’t handle Abby’s yelling. She got nervous every time which caused Jill to step in.

1:46 Watching Abby look back at the girls to see which of them she can use as an example for who didn’t get picked for a solo and she looks directly at Chloe, then Maddie and realizes she can’t pick them so she looks at the others and starts touching their heads is so funny to me. 😂 It’s like watching her entire thought process on display.

Katywu Ste+ If I recall, my dance teacher actually taught us the step- as in, like, demonstrating it. Believe me, teachers who are physically able to dance, is not as far-fetched as you think.

Katywu Ste+ Exactly, which makes me wonder how on earth Abby got a degree in dance teaching. If you think about it, we've never actually seen her 'teach' the girls anything. It's Gia that teaches the girls their choreo every week. Abby's just there for drama. I think the girls are expected to know everything by the time they get to Abby- which is kind of ridiculous when you think about the minis. That's probably why ALDC's technique is so poor. They get no proper teaching. All they do is compete at fake competitions. Abby has the knowledge, but that's it.
Abby should’ve just said, “Kendall don’t mark the leap!” And nothing would’ve happened. She didn’t need to stop doing her solo because she marked something. That just means lest practice for Kendall. And you can clearly tell Kendall had bad anxiety and tried to hold everything in

Anna Maria Brooke also had to do leaps and turns, she took her shoes off. All the girls that were practicing took them off. I don’t know why she couldn’t have taken them off herself, or at least looked at the others for direction. She didn’t go full out, and her mother defended her. That wasn’t Abby “picking” on her. Nia, Paige, and Chloe had it way worse.
A 10 year old doesn’t bring that sort of treatment on themselves, that’s such an ignorant thing to say.
As a dancer I actually agree with Abby. If I marked a leap like that my teacher would literally scream at me

What’s funny is Maddie marked her leap in Timeless rehearsals and Abby didn’t say anything
She may have had permission. It depends on what's happening (like are you injured or sick, have you been training hard recently, how many times have you run the routine, are you just learning the steps, or are you working on something else int he routine in particular and so the other steps can just be marked) but you don't do it unless given the OK. Kendall ahs a reputation for being lazy so go figure

Guys Kendall cries when Jill steps in, you notice that before Jill says something everything is fine. Abby didn’t scream or yell at her, so I don’t see the problem. Jill decided to make a big deal of it.

It really makes you feel terrible sometimes watching that.Just glad that I have seen most of them are very happy and successful. So when they look back I hope that is what they think when it was tough that they are better for it, strength of character. Turn all of it into a positive 🌹 they were all talented little dancers and they still are so props to them.

Kali At this point, their contract wouldn't have allowed them to skip rehearsals and filming. They had to go because of their contract, they would have had to wait until the end of the season to leave.

Tara Coddington first of all nobody yelled at her, your volume is probably too loud because nobody yelled once. Second of all, you are clearly someone who doesn’t understand the professional world if she marked that leap during professional job she would be fired right there. If she didn’t want to slip she should’ve taken off her shoes like Brooke did instead of marking a leap and crying about it.

I think Melissa and holly have a point. Abby seems to really like Kendall. She always gets great solos, great costumes, Abby is always making sure she doesn’t yell at her, etc. She’s a bad teacher but she has a soft spot for Kendall
I hate it when people call Kendall a brat every time she cries, talks back, gets angry or just has emotions. These kids are SCARED of there own dance teacher, and people think that Jills behaviour is the exact same as Kendalls.
