      but the issue here really isn't stretching, it's kendalls lack of ballet based technique and lack of proper modern training in regards to her not "dancing with her head" and her turns, bent knees etc.

    I'm on both sides. Kendall doesn't need stretch classes she can just practice that on her own. This season is when her dancing skills really started regress and her technique became sloppy. I'm tired of these moms saying that their daughters aren't making progress in dance because they haven't been taught in class! There are some basic things that you don't need to be taught over and over and over again. Like when you learn your ABCs in Pre-K, your not gonna go to college and review that everyday. If you wanna get better at something, you need to practice with your mentor AND by yourself. But Abby was too harsh. There was no need for her to yell like that in front of the kids. That only makes them more stressed and feel bad about themselves.

    • @BoglimWrangler666
      @BoglimWrangler666 5 лет назад +15

They were only using technique to describe Kendall's regression in dance.

    Yeah that’s like common sense to stretch every day at home, you shouldn’t rely on class or your teacher. It’s the same in any activity, you practice at home so you’re better prepared for class.

    I agree with Abby this time. Kendall became sloppier that time and for me, she looks like unmotivated and unhappy. This happens when a mother always pays extra for special treatment for her daughter without really training. Remember, Jill, you cannot pay someone to do stretch for your dear daughter.

    Which kind of dancer are you if you don’t stretch at home? Is the only homework that you have to keep your flexibility and muscles ready to just go to the company and give its best to the choreograph. THIS IS BASIC KNOWLEDGE. Kendall is lacking technique and it shows, she need to be more self aware of her body.

    I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong but aren't professional dancers supposed to stretch on their own? A teenager absolutely does not need a teacher to stretch. Nine year olds stretch on their own, why can't Kendall?

    It's literally not Abby's job to give them routine stretch classes at this age. They are traveling the world, shooting music videos, on a television show, and booking gigs. If the child doesn't have the discipline to stretch and work on their flexibility and turning, then that shows a failure on the part of the parent, not the dance teacher.

      I agree with your comment about Kendall’s mother.
      She does hold Kendall back by speaking out too much, but I don’t think that makes Kendall spoiled or rude.
      She’s just a little bit sensitive and easily feels anxious - probably a result of her mother constantly coddling her.

    Kendall is what 13 years old in this? If she really wants to be successful it’s gonna take more work than just Abbys classes. She needs to work at home like Abby said. Jill just thinks that every time Abby corrects Kendall she is being mean. But yet wants her to teach her. I don’t understand your logic Jill

    I don’t understand these parents when Abby gets on their child about being flexible or having weak turns. “Give us classes!”
    Uuuhhh I cheered for most of my life, it was something I wanted and wanted to be great at. When I wanted to do the splits, I stretched at home while watching TV. When I wanted higher jumps, I went in The backyard and jumped on the weekends. When I wanted to be stronger, I did push ups during Fresh Prince of Bel Air commercials breaks and I was 7 years old. Stop making excuses, these kids just don’t want it bad enough, they just want the fame and that’s fine too, but don’t blame Abby because your kid doesn’t take it upon herself to be great.

    Stretch class? Kendall doesn't know how to stretch?! She doesn't need a class to stretch. The point of a stretch CLASS is to teach you the stretches and you do them when you're outside of the studio to improve flexibility. Kendall was just lazy about it. I know this was so many years ago lol but it's true
