It’s obvious she wasn’t just crying, she was having panic attacks. You can tell it’s anxiety. And yet, people belittled her. She really deserved better :/
This is what dance teachers do. I did modern dance for 9 years and quit when I was 16 because my self esteem was in the toilet because of my teacher. I’m 35 now and in hindsight I wish my mom made me stick with it and put me in therapy to deal with my insecurities. Was I the best? Absolutely not. Did I work the hardest to get into the front row? Definitely not. I fell into victimhood and self pity rather than accepting I didn’t work as hard as the other girls. Maddy worked the hardest. It wasn’t because Abby was picking favorites. She was the better dancer and the hardest working dancer.
When Kendall said “may I use the bathroom”, her nervousness RADIATED off of her. she was having a panic attack and she had to leave the room, POLITELY. I feel so sorry for ALL the girls their mentally and emotionally damaged by the making of this show.
@@mnop75 her mother was just as bad as Abby with the pressure she put on the kid.. If my kid was in that situation I would REMOVE them from the situation, but all of these mothers put fame and money above and beyond their own kids mental health.
Maturing and realizing that Kendall was NEVER a "dramatic kid" nor a most used word, "crybaby". She was really misunderstood and is really an amazing dancer that knows how to step her foot down.
I feel like Jill loves Kendall so much, and tries to be the protective mama bear so hard...but she ends up making situations worse most of the time and amplifying Kendall's anxiety even more...
not to forget that her dancing career got really tainted because at some point when Kendall gets any constructive corrections Jill's always pulling her out like you gotta let your kid do something to be better and get to the number one spot , and that resulted to lots of flaws in Kendall's technique because as a dancer when I watch videos of Kendall dancing she is beautiful and pretty but she really relies on her face and she let's her body loose and that doesn't do the trick because her moves turn out sloppy and not sharp which results to falling out the choreography especially when it uncludes turning , there's a heavy limp when she turns which makes it not effortless and feather like and I remember Abby correcting her on that and she just didn't take the critiques well , and I blame that on Jill because she created a headspace for Kendall where she just see everybody hating on her .

I grew up doing a very competitive sport, like an Olympic sport, and I had SO many instructors that yelled at me and my mother never made excuses, she always told me 'be a sponge' absorb all of the criticism and instruction because you learn from it all.. A lot of these mothers raised their kids saying 'ignore Abby' and it shows in how their kids did not improve, if you don't listen to coaches you don't improve.. Abby made no secret of saying she wanted to create professional, employable dancers, not all kids can handle that pressure and not all kids are talented enough. Full stop. The pressure came from the mothers pushing the kids to stay in that environment to get them ahead..
Yeah shes trying to help but ends up making the situation more intense with all the yelling and kendall ends up feeling super overwhelmed by it. at some point you gotta let your kid handle it on their own, you wont always be there to protect them from the world and negative criticism
okay but the fact that kendall was on the verge of a PANIC ATTACK and abby was forcing her to stay in that room and be taunted is disgusting. the way she treated these girls makes me sick.
It’s good to see Kendall evolve and as she gets older, actually calling Abby out for screaming at her. As we get older we’ve got to find our voices otherwise people will walk all over us.

You can tell Kendall has Anxiety. You can see she’s breathing fast, look worried, dizzy and nauseous. Her Mum is just trying stick up for her, but sometimes it goes to far.

The problem was that Jill acted like a hypocrite and people pinned it on Kendall. Chloe and Paige went through very similar treatment, but they stuck it out, and everyone compared Kendall because at every correction Jill jumped in the middle and took her away. I think part of her label was because of Jill.
Sorry I kinda disagree a little, just how she treated Brynn and how Jill really mistreated Brynn. And the way she treated Camryn has really cold and mean especially when I saw Nia’s video of them hanging out and the few time Nia invited camryn and even JoJo has said that Kendall has bullied her a few times. So if you have more than one person expressing the same complaint then it’s most like true. I think it’s mostly jills fault because she baby’s her and coddles her wayyyyyyyyy too much. And makes Kendall believe she is the center of the universe. So Kendall kinda has a mean girl attitude kind of like a social climber. You either have to be at my level or or above in order to hang, so i personally don’t think she was that nice of a kid or teen hopefully she’s grown out of that.
For all the times Jill wanted Kendall to have a solo, I applaud her for this moment; at 12:50 Abby said ‘Should Kendall just do it as a solo?’ Now the old Jill would’ve leapt at the opportunity for Kendall to do a solo, even if it meant taking it away from another child (ie the duet with Jojo in this scene) but at 12:52, Jill straight up went ‘No. it’s a duet!’ I feel that this shows how much Jill has grown since her early stages in Dance Moms.

It’s not rude at all. It’s the instructor informing her boss that she doesn’t pick up fast enough when she needs to. That happens every day in the entertainment industry.

I think jill just wanted what she thought her daughter wanted Kendall's anxiety wasn't from jill it was from them arguing and having no voice to Abby she was stuck between 2 rocks and legit could do nothing she had Abby who would always get mad and get mad at jill for getting mad at Abby so she couldn't voice cause she would get yelled up and jill couldn't voice up a lot because then they would be in a bad spot I felt so bad she wanted to dance but didn't want anxiety.

From the start of the show from season 1 I liked Abby because she let the girls have fun with dancing and didn't yell as much as she did later on. When Kendall wrote on the paper what she finds negative, baby read that is said "we never get to do fun things like we used to do." Abby asked Kendall if that's how all the girls felt and she said yes. I think that moment was when Abby realised that she needs to let the girls be kids while it lasts. 7:49

@@jjbrutus8144 ok big guy but people handle different situations in different ways. If you have anxiety on top of what Abby is saying to her it’s difficult. If you haven’t been through constant belittling from a figure like that, as a kid your taught that adults are always right, so when you hear them calling you a “cry baby” and “too old to cry” it makes you feel alienated from everyone else and think they’re right. I could go into so much detail about this cause I know from first hand experience. But you need to remember the dance industry is already a harmful environment anyway, with body shaming and such but that’s not the only harmful thing in the dance industry

ASadAsian yeah well my birthday was in October so I started kindergarten at 4 and then turned 5 a month into school I was 13 entering high school because we had to go back to school end of August and I didn’t turn 14 until October almost 2 months later so I was 14 in freshman year but I entered at 13 because of my birthday

Jill makes excuse after excuse for her. Jill thinks she's wonderful and works really hard and has "fire in her belly". Meanwhile she has Maddie, Kalani, Brynn and- earlier on- Chloe, outshining her without question and Kendall phones it in most weeks. So when Kendall doesn't succeed Jill blames everyone else and Kendall has no idea how to cope, while Jill reinforces the behaviour. It's a cycle that Jill needs to break.
I have anxiety and I’m extremely sensitive , so the second someone raises their voice at me or things keep going wrong , i’m on the verge of tears.. I’m not surprised it constantly happening to Kendall. She’s always shouted at. Yes the rest of the kids also are , but certain pple act in different ways to others yet everyone called her a “cry baby”

There are thousands of other dancers in the country (Brady Farrar, Autumn Miller, Briar Nolet, Jessy Lipke, Kendyl Fay, Megan Branch, etc.) who are better than the Dance Moms girls but who don’t have abusive teachers

I think Abby wanted Kendall to be a better dancer. When Chloe, Maddie or Brooke got yelled at (the “top” students) they stayed in the room and made the correction, whereas every time Kendall got yelled at Jill would interfere and Kendall would run to her. Abby wanted Kendall to “toughen up” but didn’t realize that Kendall was sensitive.

As well as everyone handles emotions differently. Some people don't express then. Others let them out and I let them out. So how about you think before saying stuff.
Ikr, i cried many times in one day because of my problems, my family who's yelling at me whenever i forgot to clean my room, & my fake friends. I really hate it when people is calling me loser, stupid, etc, cause they don't know what i'm going through, they don't understand, they don't know what their words could do to me, and whenever they apologized, they just said "sorry", and then they will act like everything's fine. So for all of the people who wanted to make fun of other people, please just stop.

As someone with anxiety and stress, I totally get how Kendall feels. You can obviously tell she is stressed and having panic, and anxiety attacks. And fighting and confrontation in front of her makes it worse, I also do that, I stress and overthink a lot.
@@luckynumber1126 different things could trigger her. It makes me nervous when other people get yelled at, but I normally only start to panic when it’s directed at me. People react in different ways and for her it seems like yelling directed at her and arguing involving her is just a trigger. She has obviously been emotionally abused too. kendall was crying because she was allergic to latex so that’s why she didn’t wear the mask , not because she didn’t like it or it looked bad . the camera people cut it when she said she’s allergic to latex to make it look like she was crying because of that but she was not .
You can honestly see from watching this that Kendall clearly had anxiety from her mom, Abby and just dancing. I think the show ruined dancing for her and a lot of the students
I agree Abby needs to be gentler and I don't like how she treats the kids, but it is true that the high expectations is what makes them a star dance studio.

Yup. She's the youngest in their family and sometimes parents are really protective over the youngest.

Sorry I kinda disagree a little, just how she treated Brynn and how Jill really mistreated Brynn. And the way she treated Camryn has really cold and mean especially when I saw Nia’s video of them hanging out and the few time Nia invited camryn and even JoJo has said that Kendall has bullied her a few times. So if you have more than one person expressing the same complaint then it’s most like true. I think it’s mostly jills fault because she baby’s her and coddles her wayyyyyyyyy too much. And makes Kendall believe she is the center of the universe. So Kendall kinda has a mean girl attitude kind of like a social climber. From the start of the show from season 1 I liked Abby because she let the girls have fun with dancing and didn't yell as much as she did later on. When Kendall wrote on the paper what she finds negative, baby read that is said "we never get to do fun things like we used to do." If you haven’t been through constant belittling from a figure like that, as a kid your taught that adults are always right, so when you hear them calling you a “cry baby” and “too old to cry” it makes you feel alienated from everyone else and think they’re right. I could go into so much detail about this cause I know from first hand experience. But you need to remember the dance industry is already a harmful environment anyway, with body shaming and such but that’s not the only harmful thing in the dance industry

As someone with anxiety and stress, I totally get how Kendall feels. You can obviously tell she is stressed and having panic, and anxiety attacks. And fighting and confrontation in front of her makes it worse, I also do that, I stress and overthink a lot.

People react in different ways and for her it seems like yelling directed at her and arguing involving her is just a trigger. She has obviously been emotionally abused too.
