The second snap point for pillars I did not know you could do this! Thank you! I'm very glad, because I was building a massive base and did not want the entire floor to look ugly.
Just the video I was looking for. I'm an admin on a primitive plus roleplay server, and I'm working on a colosseum, and the pillars were annoying to me if I was seeing myself as a guest to a show. This video helped a ton. Thank you!!
You sir, are my hero. MAN do I hate those freaking pillars poking on top the floors. Thank you, you have earned yourself a sub just for your clean pillar trick!
thank you. that was helpfull. solution 2:10 min. snap pillar halfway, snap one below a bit lower than it wants to, keep putting pillars down till u reach the bottom, remove the halfway-top one.
There can be a problem when placing a pillar on the cornor and after placing the pillar all the way into the ground and removing the ceiling, the pillar can be destroyed :/ At the time making this video I haven't seen that before, that's why I don't havwe a solution for that in this video. I did have encountered that for the first time when I was building my bridge. Here is the link and specific time of the video where I show a solution for that: ruclips.net/video/V3kkFpTGxIw/видео.htmlm49s I hope this will help you!!
Good stuff! I'm hoping this will help me tonight... we all know it's best to start at the lowest point and work the way up slope and not try to go down because it doesn't work... but that's just what I need now. I started down the hill and built upward, a ton of stuff built now, and jsut decided I'm out of space and want to extend down the hill a bit more. Pretty sure I'm going to need this hack, wish me luck :-) Thanks
It's amazing what people find out on games I find all your building tips and tricks really useful I'd love to actually try and watch only them but other you tubers pop up... it's really annoying trying to watch your helpful step by step with others coming up lol
Another great tutorial. I love these tricks you're sharing. I'm currently playing on a friend's server but I am going to do some testing on single player to learn your tricks as well as figure out what I want to design. I notice in your videos you are carrying a lot of structure pieces. Are you using a console command to carry extra weight or did you level up a lot and put the points into weight?
+Travis D Awesome :D Share the tricks with your friends as well ;) Indeed, best to test things out in single player and later do it in multiplayer. Thats what I always do :) For thos building videos, I have few lvls in movement speed and all the rest I put in weight, so I can carry a lot. I dont need the other stats in singleplayer ;)
Having trouble with S+ Pillars in Viking Bay, trying to build across the broken arches. Any suggestions? First I am widening the plateaus sufficient enough to use Keep Behemoth Gates as walls with Rounded Keep Towers on the corners, then building across. Some pillars will not snap to the Sea bottom.
Been playing ark for about 3 yrs now and ive just always dealt with the pillar sticking thru the ceiling. Now i dont have to and my bases will look alot cleaner.
Any tips on building a bridge that will allow rafts to pass under safely? Using ceilings as measurement, foundations/pillars only allow up to 13 ceilings (in a diamond shape) before requiring additional foundation support. Is there a method that will allow me to build without this limitation?
modded or non-modded? you can also build a bridge like I build with a Patreon in my The Center series, have the middle part lower, so rafts can go over. We use mods, but you can do that also without mods, pillars are pillars and a ramp will work also on vanilla.
This is on an official xbox server, so non-modded. I only ask because it is very difficult and messy trying to get dinos across the water using only rafts, and almost impossible for our larger tames. We are also under pressure by the server alpha tribe to make sure their rafts can pass under the bridge without knocking off tames or tribe members.
Wouldn't it be easier to place a 1 pillar down on top of a ceiling with the stub than place the ceiling next to it and rinse and repeat. Until you have your layout of your base done than delete all the ceilings than place the ceilings on top of the placed pillars. Just asking because the area i have on Vanilla Island is a slanted ground with a small cliff with another slanted ground below it. I might try this method and see. If not i might just do the 1 pillar > Ceiling > Pillar trick
Thanks Fresonis, if you go to 52.9, 29.7 The Island you'll see my fustration. Placing the 3 Stone foundations across is kind of hard in this area. Would love to see some type of idea on this place. Just a gorgeous area to build
*The pillar in the corner trick of this video doesn't work anymore, check here for the updated trick!* ruclips.net/video/IUVmmNnWuzw/видео.html
