RUclips really trying to force us to pay for Premium by deliberately slowing down the free version, putting ridiculous amount of ads on every video and warn us about using AdBlock
There’s a really great free app called Video Lite that does the commercials before or after the video. And the commercials aren’t really all that overwhelming.
Since YT Music costs $10.99 and YT Premium costs $13.99, I’m wasting $10.99 per month for the music service i don’t use. Give me just RUclips premium without music for $3.
This is exactly what I think too. I do understand that RUclips needs to generate the money somewhere so all of us can enjoy the service, but the pricing policy is just not fair. Taking in to account of how many users RUclips has, the premium should cost about $3. I'm not trying to avoid paying for RUclips, I just don't like when such a global and super rich company like Google still trying to rip off ordinary people to get even richer.
This! There's no way they make $14 per user by making them watch ads, it's probably less than $1. This is literally the only argument I hear against YTP. If they priced it fairly, under $5, they could still make more revenue per user and way more people would sign up.
If you tube simply charged a reasonable amount to avoid the ads, say $5. Everyone would be happy, its the reason VPN subscription was popular, because the price matched the product.
Increasing he price from $10 to $13 Canadian was a game changer for me. I used it one year at the cusp of the increase ($10) and then gave it up. If they lowered the price they would likely have more people subscribing. I don't watch a lot of videos but it is a pain to watch anything on youtube as they bombard you with adds. So not only do I no longer subscribe, I rarely use it anymore. I would likely subscribe at a lower rate ($5) with limited ads, like I do with Netflix.
I don't understand why companies think that interrupting someone while they're viewing and/or listening to content with ads will automatically make them want to buy their product. Never have I ever been interrupted by an ad and said to myself, "Yeah, I REALLY want to buy that." If anything, I was just super annoyed. They're actually working backwards. It's a reason why people are working so hard to bypass ads. People hate them.
I know you want to think that, but it still puts it in your head, your annoyance will be forgotten swiftly as you distract your brain with more stimuli, however that product will stay in the back of your brain.

I watch RUclips more than I do tv, and the ads annoy me tremendously, so I bought the annual membership. Like others, though, I too think $13.99 is too much, $5 or $10 would be more reasonable.
I think they collect data on how often an ad break makes users stop watching, so now every time they serve up an unskippable ad more than 10 seconds long, that's my signal to stop watching and go browse something else for a while. I seem to get a lot fewer long ads now.
Closing or navigating back and then reopening video often helps to skip unskippable ad. Sometimes I have to reload video several times this way, to finally get it without ad. But no way I'm watching a 10 sec ad just to find out that they queued a second unskippable ad after it.
Another thing RUclips does is that if you modify the subscription settings so that they can't track you for purposes of data collection, they also take away your ability to block and/or report annoying, offensive or scam ads and advertisers; I also lost the ability to tag a channel with "not interested" or "don't recommend". And then there are the automatic upgrades, which always seem to make usability of the service and site worse rather than better.
I can't think of a time an advert has made me do anything other than hate the company that is advertising. Unless it was an advert for something I was already interested in

They increased the price by more than 50% here, that killed it for me. Theese subscribtions services forget that we have a lot of them, one might not be too bad but having 10 different services quickly add up. I miss the old buy it once thinking.

You get annoyed with succession of ads. To get relief you have to shell out $ 13.99 each month! Is there any other choice? The price you have to pay NOT to be annoyed . And the product they are selling - they got for free - postings from people! No inventory!

What is annoying is that they charge a sales tax. I do not live in a state w/sales tax. No way to contact them, google insists I live in WA state where I used to live. And no way to “contact” them except through their FAQs. An email to google went unanswered.
Anyone else noted the exponential rise in ads embedded in posts now, usually in an "about our sponsor" style? I understand that creators are compensated when posts are viewed "ad free" by Premium users but guess this is a workaround for additional revenue.
RUclips sadly killed the VPN trick and no way to block the insane commercial spam on the mobile or tv app😢 they make the "free" experience unusable and force you to pay a premium for premium thanks to a monopoly in this type of streaming content.

I use RUclips premium from india its costs me around 189 rs which is 2.24 dollars for family plan , now its got raised to 299rs which is 3.55 dollar which is a big jump of 58 % , but because its a 6 member plan its affordable with one user paying 50 rs which 0.59 dollar

Been on the fence for subscribing to YTP for a long time. I considered the price a bit of a stretch. Said and done, I subscribed. 2 weeks later they announced the price increase. If the current price is a bit of a stretch, the new price is unrealistic and there is no way I will continue with YTP at that price point. I don't even want the music part. So, back to as before.
The simplest, most logical way to avoid autosub is to unsub as soon as you sub. I do that with all my services and then I get to decide on the day I stop having access to a service, whether I actually want to spend that money that day. Pausing does not solve the labor and forgetfulness problems, but unsubbing does.
RUclips’s official rule is that you must live in the same household. However I have not heard of major crackdowns on people who violate this rule. Doesn’t mean that won’t change in the future, though.
I've been paying the South African price for years. However, just a few weeks back I was told by email that my membership will expire at the end of the month because of some kind of changed South African law regarding payments. I don't know whether that's truly genuine or that maybe RUclips is fibbing a little, but either way I think I'll start paying the normal way now. I've been getting cheap deals for a long time. Considering how I use RUclips more than any other video service, I suppose it's fair enough that I pay the full price now. Still, for something that was almost too good to be true, I got a surprising amount of time out of the workaround. It wasn't just South Africa, come to think of it. For a couple of years beforehand I was on Turkish RUclips Premium. 🤣

while yt on the pc is straight forward, the smart tv and phone doesnt allow for the same system without ads and im kinda looking to get it because i hate ads . as wifi has become really accessible and data plans cheaper. listening to you tube podcasts or music at work without draining phone battery is attractive and lastly as i can use this on my smart tv i can fall asleep to some 3 hr documentary on subject that your not going to find on netflix or prime... so i think worth it.
Well I've got a complaint. I'm about to stop using RUclips altogether! It's become more ads than real content. You MUST press skip otherwise it will be 100% ads one after the other. To me that's just the filthy, disgusting greed of the Google pigs. The frequency has also become unbearable to the point where I can't watch anything in peace and the cost is dicin' refuculous. I feel like I'm being forced into choosing either to pay what could be used to feed a small village in a third world country or not watch at all. I coincidentally had to update my subscription while on vacation in Japan, so I've been paying a slightly lower rate that changes every month depending on the exchange rate 😂. So honest VPN? 😂 Also, another benefit is the RUclips Music ability to stream any song on Google Home speaker devices.

Also, I got two months of free Premium instead of one from a RUclipsr advertising it (through her link)! So be on the lookout for those, folks! (In my case, it was Gentle Whispering, an ASMR channel - probably makes sense to advertise on them, since the ads can be overly disruptive for those) I loved the "luxury" for the two months, but I don't plan on paying for it for now, it's pretty expensive in comparison to other streamings here in Brazil!

Yes. As long as you sign in with the same account, it will work on all devices.

Been on the fence for subscribing to YTP for a long time. I considered the price a bit of a stretch. Said and done, I subscribed. 2 weeks later they announced the price increase. If the current price is a bit of a stretch, the new price is unrealistic and there is no way I will continue with YTP at that price point. I don't even want the music part. So, back to as before.
I still only pay 7 dollars for youtube premium. Purchased it while I was in Mexico, and it still shows I pay in Mexican pesos.

YT premium in my country is aeound $2 with my student discount.. it has yt music too.. so i think its still pretty good
The simplest, most logical way to avoid autosub is to unsub as soon as you sub. I do that with all my services and then I get to decide on the day I stop having access to a service, whether I actually want to spend that money that day. Pausing does not solve the labor and forgetfulness problems, but unsubbing does.

RUclips’s official rule is that you must live in the same household. However I have not heard of major crackdowns on people who violate this rule. Doesn’t mean that won’t change in the future, though.

I've been paying the South African price for years. However, just a few weeks back I was told by email that my membership will expire at the end of the month because of some kind of changed South African law regarding payments. I don't know whether that's truly genuine or that maybe RUclips is fibbing a little, but either way I think I'll start paying the normal way now. I've been getting cheap deals for a long time. Considering how I use RUclips more than any other video service, I suppose it's fair enough that I pay the full price now. Still, for something that was almost too good to be true, I got a surprising amount of time out of the workaround.
It wasn't just South Africa, come to think of it. For a couple of years beforehand I was on Turkish RUclips Premium. 🤣

while yt on the pc is straight forward, the smart tv and phone doesnt allow for the same system without ads and im kinda looking to get it because i hate ads . as wifi has become really accessible and data plans cheaper. listening to you tube podcasts or music at work without draining phone battery is attractive and lastly as i can use this on my smart tv i can fall asleep to some 3 hr documentary on subject that your not going to find on netflix or prime... so i think worth it.

Well I've got a complaint. I'm about to stop using RUclips altogether! It's become more ads than real content. You MUST press skip otherwise it will be 100% ads one after the other. To me that's just the filthy, disgusting greed of the Google pigs. The frequency has also become unbearable to the point where I can't watch anything in peace and the cost is dicin' refuculous. I feel like I'm being forced into choosing either to pay what could be used to feed a small village in a third world country or not watch at all. So if Google continues to withhold an offering with a happy medium they can get f****d.

Free trial is not one time use. I canceled YT premium a year ago and have been offered 1 and even 3 month trials to re-up.
I did pay 14.99 a month for YT music just for me but Wish there was a cheaper option without having advertising in with the Music

So that's how I stopped overpaying for RUclips Premium...I cancelled.
Annual Plan is not available on my individual account after my free trial. (Sept 2024). Hope this changes.
