I'm a RUclips TV subscriber and I think RUclips Premium should be free to TV subscribers. The prices for these services have surpassed cable TV.

As much as free would be ideal, it would make more sense to offer a "deep discount" on RUclips premium. Offering the family plan for the same price as individual.
I've been a premium user for a few years. I find YT almost unwatchable without premium. I love your analogy about buy back your time. Time is more precious than some people think.
I chromcast to my TV with my phone. By switching between YT Shorts and regular videos, I can cut out all the ads. 😊

How precious is your time if all you are doing is sitting on your ass watching hours upon hours of videos? Your logic only makes sense to others who are convincing themselves that they made the "right" decisions.
Its worth it for RUclips music alone. With prime video i get amazon music and cant even play 2 different songs on two different devices!! My wife and I love yourube music.

I love my premium. Tried to go without it a couple years ago and the adds drove me insane. Once you get used to it, you can't use RUclips without it

I'm pissed that advertisers have gotten around our paid "ad free" premium status by paying creators to SPEAK their ads in their videos!! 🤬🤬🤬 This totally infuriates me.
I unsub from every content creator who does that regardless of how big they are.

I got RUclips premium almost immediately after watching this video and I love it! I get so annoyed with ads, especially when I'm just trying to listen to music and I'm driving having to fumble for my phone to hit the skip button for not 1 but 2 ads! Such a relief! Thank you for helping me make the jump!

Simply playing a video while my phone is locked or off app is worth it. (Should be a free feature but it’s the world we live in)

It's free on many apps other than RUclips. I hate seeing these comments and seeing how many people are throwing their money away because they don't know about blockers.
I watch yt more than cable and the subscription price is well worth it to me to avoid the commercials. After you include the free movies, which are getting better every month, it's just icing on the cake. Best value out there in my opinion.

The time saved from commercial-free entertainment is invaluable. We pay for commercial-free or reduced commercials on any streamer that offers it.

I've had RUclips Premium for about 5 years now and I would never let it go. Right now it's $13.99 a month and that comes to 47 cents a day. I also get all of my music from RUclips also and the sheer amount of music available is just outstanding, whether if it's from the early days of rock right up to today. Even household pets and domestic farm animals know what a great deal it is. And having Darren let us know all the great stuff going out and where you can find it. It can't be beat.
A great deal that can't be beat? Sure it can! You're paying by the month, meaning you spend 20% more a year compared to buying an annual subscription instead.
@@Reynard_11 That's the way it suits my situation, as it does a lot of other people who don't wish to go annually. In that respect it's a great deal.
I became a full time RUclips Premium user since Covid confinement and I am subscribed to more than 250 channels, most of them with premium quality information I don't find anywhere (this one included). Don't have to say that this literally changed my life as a user. There are some features in the RUclips Music App I do not like but I really don't care. AWESOME AD FREE LIFE!
I also wanted to add, it's nice to be able to comment/discuss movies, music, vids with other viewers!
The power of Downloads + Screen Off play... AMAZING. I will download whole playlists of video essays, and just listen to them on commutes or walks. I've done it with your videos (which seems weird given you're suggesting video items a lot but you describe well so the lack of visuals aren'tthat detracting)
I started on RUclips red or whatever it was in like 2013-2014. I have never seen a single ad. Same account since maybe 2009. I have a few beta features I’ve been trying .My favorite one is the ability to create a cue , or you can click the dots on a thumbnail and choose play next, or play last. I just add 10-15 then refresh and pick more. It’s amazing
I'm glad you did this video. I've been on RUclips since it was "Red". I love it. I work at my computer all day and watch videos, sometimes music while I work. I'm also a Spotify Premium user. It's well worth the price!

Yup. I signed up for YT Premium about 4 years ago. I watch a lot of RUclips, so the ad free price is definitely worth it for me.

Did you has a setting to remove Sponsors too so you skipped the bulit-in not ads as a sponsor which is under the name

The RUclips music bonus of having music vids and live performances raises it about Spotify for me. Ad free RUclips is just about required for my tastes.
I tried it for a month and decided it's not worth it for a couple reasons.
Big one is I have alt accounts for gaming and my woodworking hobby, respectively, and my connected accounts don't also get premium.
Other reason is I can skip the majority of ads. Although admittedly, the loud, annoying ones are terrible with headphones in or when I'm watching something quiet that suddenly cuts to a really high volume ad.
I didn’t even need to watch this video to tell you yes. 0 ads changed my life for the better. Also background play is nice.
I had youtube music for one month and realized could nix commercials for another $3...absolutely worth it.
Love the annual recaps for toutube music as well
i listen to my own playlists and absolutely need premium to keep from going insane from ads

I got it when it was called youtube red because it was the only way you could watch Cobra Kai at the time. I kept it because of my 3-8 hour ambience videos that really really need to be ad free. No ads is awesome and there are other benefits.
Really enjoyed this video. We do HULU live but might have to try out the other options. Only really need/use the live portion during football season.

I watch allot of various video content on regular You Tube during the day, so I do have the premium account. I do You Tube more than Streaming services.
My setup I have a PC laptop with HDMI. I then connect my Laptop to my large LCD Display via the HDMI cable. Then have a wireless keyboard/mouse to control my You Tube viewing.
Yes it does knock out the Ads, but also now finding content creators are imbedding their ads within the videos themselves. Kind of annoying, but I quickly skip over them to get to the main topic of the video. I am glad most of these they just do one imbedded Ad.
Premium is great for me when watching You Tube movies and not have annoying Ads pop up all the time. I can sit back and enjoy the entire movie.
All in All, I like the premium You Tube services. Thanks for your video and take care.
RUclips music is not why I started paying for premium, but once I had it, I stopped Amazon music and switched. RUclips music also has more options, because you can add regular RUclips videos (such as a live performance) to your RUclips music playlist.

I remember when youtube didnt have ads in the video, the ads were just clickable images on the side,, i could make a playlist of music for a party without interruptions,, it was free, it was perfect
Would you know if youtube music offers dolby atmos like Apple music? On my regular RUclips premium I can't get receiver to play atmos even though RUclips is claiming it is a dolby atmos video.
I have been a subscriber to premium for a couple of years. I’ve never ever regretted buying it. I don’t have cable tv so it’s my go to entertainment source for casual viewing. Edit: I also subscribe to the family plan. My wife and I have vastly different interests and I don’t want a load of sewing machine videos in my recommendations, so it’s really useful.

I just got it to try it out because I use the lofi/ambience videos to write/read/sleep and it’s so disruptive when there’s a loud ass ads every 10-15 minutes.
It's probably the 1st media content that i will always subscribe to, and like good yourself, I'm always listening to dj sets, etc, and so i find it as a huge bonus being ad-free, i too pay for Spotify Premium but have never really gave the RUclips music channel much consideration so i may look into it a bit more.
They've constantly improved RUclips Music over the years. I remember they sent me a survey, and I tole they I always listened to Pandora because of the "Radio Stations" of an artist you could do. Before long, RUclips msuic had radio stations that are so easy to use it's amazing. RUclips Music literally has every feature, and more songs and artist than any other streamer has and the interface is fantastic. They even have a high resolution option for best quality stream!
I'f it were me, I'd set up RUclips Premium to mimic what you have set up in Spotify and quit Spotify and $ave that money! I hate having too many monthly costs going out! They can really add up!! :)
worth it just for no ads. this is a great sub i was watching this just to learn if content creators get snubbed when i don't have to view their ads. i might have missed it but i didn't hear anything about that here
RUclips premium pricing varies from country to country. Here in the Philippines, I only pay $2.80 a month. The reason i subscribe to Premium is listening realxing ASMR role play with background play when im taking a nap or get some sleep. A cool feature! 😊

I love RUclips premium, I do a lot of home workouts and the ads were so annoying. I haven’t found RUclips music to be worth having as my only music subscription. It’s too distracting as it carries over my RUclips playlists. Ion like that. Also, Darren, thanks for the different scenarios at the end of how to get the entertainment without the YTTV! Much appreciated!

Thank you for the billing secret when buying the RUclips app via Apple. I checked and I am paying the $18.99 per month vs. the normal $13.99 via RUclips. Any idea if I cancel the Apple RUclips Premium and sign up for RUclips Premium through RUclips proper, will my current account information disappear?

Ads will eventually come, just a lot less, at first. Just look at cable TV, satellite radio, etc.
I also don’t like how they crap on creators they don’t like, unsubbing people, shadow banning, and demonetizing channels while still running ads to their (RUclips) benefit only.

Had Premium for a long long time and never one ad. That's the purpose of Premium is no ads, so they will never come.

My favorite thing about RUclips premium is, thatmost of the time I like to listen, and when you watch RUclips like that the ads really get in the way!
my only problem with YP is when i play viedos with my phone off( which is one of the features) the video stops playing.
also downloaded videos cause my phone to crash.

The problem I have with ytube is playing movies the sound is awful the movie is low in sound and then the ads blast you out of your chair. Have new 80 in LG smart tv do not have sound problems with netflix hulu etc So would this go away when when pay for ad free. What about the sponsored podcast I resent this and do skip plus thumbs down Tired of being monitized. Amazon just flashed a banner saying will be adding ads to Prime video or an extra 2.99 per month where does it end

Lucky enought to be included in my best friend's YT Premium account. I use YT as my sole music player in the car, as well as around the house. No way I would watch as much YT with commercials!
I've used RUclips premium for years, and I love not getting constant ads.
I don't have RUclips cable, though, because I dislike the concept of paying for channels that I don't use. If there is ever a service that allows one to pick and choose which cable stations one wants (and doesn't want) to watch, I may reconsider.

Not sure how many people know about it but you can get the Family subscription for RUclips premium and you can share it with 5 people. I've paid 6 dollars for a year full subscription!! (In my country*)

I can play almost any video in Picture in Picture and if I minimize the video and lock the phone I can play anything that’s not music while it’s locked. It’s weird maybe it’s cause I haven’t updated my iOS in a while idk
Kinda missed some major points about RUclips TV. Yes it is cable but much cheaper. No contract and can cancel anytime. Plus local tv stations from your area. I have had RUclips TV for about 2 years and I’m completely happy with it.

I don't mind the skip-able six second ads, but now many are 15 or 30 seconds and are not skip-able. It's really getting annoying, especially when the ads behave differently on my computer and TV. I think I'll give the premium free trial a try.

For a steamer thats pretty much just cable tv, I use Philo. It's only like 20 bucks. Its got pretty much all the major cable stations, does dvr. Id recommend

Interesting, i have had Premium since the RED days and never realised so many of these app features were Premium only. I initially subscribed mainly for the music as the algorithm was so much better and getting ‘my’ music right than the others. Then i got drawn in to the video side as it was so seamless and enjoyable to watch ad free. Love it.
Im in the UK and in this region, the ads are really annoying! On my laptop i could use free adblocker but since im watching youtube mostly on my Phone, there is no adblocker for RUclips app so i had to buy this subscription. And top of that their music premium is great for my car and as wells as my google speaker!
If you get the family plan it's great! I've got five people on it, for $26 total. No way I'm watching commercials, waiting for those countdowns😅

It's ad free currently, but how long before YT is following the pack & slipping ads into the Premium service??? I'm so sick of being thrown under the bus, like what Amazon is doing. I don't even have the option of avoiding commercials on AP anymore. AP has ruined it's music app & I don't trust that YT won't follow the other streaming services.
Do you have a magic recipe that allows for sports enthusiasts to watch local pro teams live & still get a bang-for-buck monthly streaming service package? OTA is not an option for me due to my location. I currently use DTV only for live sports (American football).
I joined Premium about a year ago when I was on vacation. I wanted to listen to music and have used RUclips for years. The ads were getting far too frequent. I think it is overpriced ($7 would be fair) but I don't think I could go back. My concern is do you guys, as content creators, still get your ad revenue when we use Premium?

I don't have RUclips TV as it's not available in the UK but I do have premium. Of all my subscriptions, I use this one the most. I love it being ad free and the music service is fantastic too!
There are soo many adds on RUclips now, that it's almost unwatchable. You can't even watch a 3minute clip without it being broken by adds. Is it worth paying the extra for no adds ...... no, because more and more content makers are combining paid sponsor adds in their content.

I got RUclips premium back during election time to stop the commercials. Almost 4 years later and was worth it every penny ! All other added features are icing in the cake! I love it.

I listen to a lof of Indian and Latin music and youtube music does not only give you access to a much better Official library but also the nice remixes that someone uploaded on yt 10 years ago - its a game changer!
I'm looking to get rid of spotify because it has me stuck listening to the same 50 songs in my 300+ song library any time I put on shuffle. And the discover weekly is just unknown artists that are cheap for them to license. And the playlists are never actually the genre I'm searching for. I tried searching for dubstep and ended up having to go to RUclips to find real dubstep.
If I pay for YT Premium can I stream it add free in two different locations for the $13.99/month - at my home and cottage for example?
Is this still a thing? I got a couple of questions to either un-install my Ad-blocker or buy Premium from YT a long while ago but I just ignored it and never heard from them again. SO I still watch YT fine with Ad-blockers on so why should I pay for Premium?

@@ZebraActual u-block Origin. Never had to see one commercial ever. YT threatened to disable viewing if I didn't un-install it but then I would just switch to FireFox instead of Crome that I use today, because they wont comply with YTs demands.
I always hated being forced to do stuff by companies and specially in this BS "create the problem (commercials) and then sell the solution (Commercial free Premium service". Idk why any company would advertise on YT since they are selling a solution to avoid said commercials. Isnt that a bit "Catch 22"?
I rather support good content creators with Patreon etc.
