@Dantes230 Karl Schrekt, former Justicar of Clan Tremere and current leader of house Tremere has a whole chapter in Becketts Jyhad Dirary. It talks about rumors of a worm ruling the clan and how the house needs to be cleaned of outside influence. Come V5 and the prime chantry is destroyed but its noted that the defenses were shut down at the last second right before the second inquisition's attack. Its highly likely to be an inside job because no enemy should have been able to do that. Karl was already talking about cleaning house in Beckett's diary so he had the motive and lo and behold he immediately takes control of the clan right after the strike. You can put two and two together.

Honestly I'd love to know more about Meerlinda; she seems way more forward thinking than most of the Tremere management. More concerned with keeping the dumpster fire that is both the Tremere and the Camarilla on the rails and from exploding spectacularly.
Meerlinda is the Tremere Councilor for North America, and is working in her Dallas Chantry using genetic research to try and find the true name of humanity (The Gehenna Sourcebook, confirms that she is infact successful in this endeavor... exactly according to Tremere, Saulot and Tzimisce's plans) The big question is are the council actually destroyed in V5 or are they in hiding after the shattering of the Pyramid. After all, even during a daytime strike with drones, 7 extremely paranoid Methusalahs aren't something you can just kill in one day, especially when even in the 1200s, the Vienna chantry was over 12 stories deep in the earth and warded to high hell (also with Hermetic Bans for certain powers, as mages tend to do so its not even Techocracy bullshit levels of tech that brought Vienna down), which is also backed up by: Vienna police/SWAT Mercenaries Ghouls Tremere Men at Arms Remaining loyal Gargoyles, Gargoyle Dogs and Bats Fleshcrafted Abominations other Elders of the Clan And then 7 Methusalahs. Yeah Vienna should have been a code Ragnarok level event, Vienna would have had to have been wiped off the map to fully destroy the Vienna Chantry. And even then that wouldn't be a confirmed kill on Methusalahs we know for a matter of fact have rituals that can teleport them away.
@@ssjjshawn Yep! Very interesting video. Even though I already knew basically everything you mentioned (I've been storytelling and reading every possible book of the WoD for more than 2 decades), it's very good to see this kind of content being made. I just don't understand the order though, because Goratrix and Etrius are certainly much more relevant to Tremere's history than Aisling Sturbrigde, for instance. In any case, congratulation! It's a pity V5 utterly destroyed one of the most interesting and well-developed clans in the setting, but in any case, it's hard for me to agree with basically anything V5 did until now, I simply ignore it in my games.
In the case of Clan Tremere, I made the list more chronological than in order of importance. While Etrius/Goratrix are critical to the history of the Clan, Sturbridge is (or was pre-V5) the future of Clan Tremere. But yes, the Company did gut the Tremere in order to make the Thin-Bloods more 'special.'
The clan I used to break a campaign and the lone time I was a That Guy player. Bad ST, lots of borderline abusive play, and I hit my "fuck it" point and brought in Melvin: a master of Technomancy and Computers. I'll leave it at, "It's amazing what Computer Use, Intelligence, and Technomancy 5 can do." Part of it is also I can barely remember major details because it was in HS
Since they stole their blood from the Tzimisce it is probable that they had a natural predisposition to their disciplines in the early nights. The Tremere's disciplines (Auspex, Dominate, Thaumaturgy) only differ from the Old Clan Tzimisce in one place: Animalism rather than Thaumaturgy.
The Camarilla might still want Valerius' head on general principle. Which is a shame because he's a walking encyclopedia of True Magick, Thaumaturgy, and Dark Thaumaturgy.
