@@lazarofstygia2241 here's something that has gnawed at my crossover WoD mind for a while- could Dracula, having become the 'default' idea of what a vampire is in pop culture, avoid the Withering by drawing on the Glamour of that Dream? The animation in that show was incredible, and some of the character arcs were cool. I wish there could be a show like that based on VtM except with good writers who take their time
You cant count Dracula as tzimisce anymore hes enlightened he has broken the curse, and is currently in the group of the Inconnu, those that has no weaknesses, that has broken the curse of Caine, he is fucking powerhouse atm.
Of course in Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula gained his own powerful version of vampirism via black magic and alchemy via the scholomance and he was never embraced at all. Not to mention that Dracula could walk in the sun unharmed but it only weakened his powers while sunlight damage seems to exist universally for Kindred which leaves no room for such flexibility. Matter of fact Lord Ruthven which Lambach was based on was originally no Kindred at all who was considered one of the weakest types of vampires who could be killed through ordinary means but the light of the full moon always revived him regardless which is the same for Varney the Vampire and plus Ruthven had no fangs either and he had to use the strength of his jaw to bite down his victims much like the scene from Dawn of the Dead of course. Of course I never liked what VtM did to Dracula though and I prefer the novel itself being factual.
In World of Darkness, some elements of the Dracula novel did happen, though they are never quite clear about how much of it took place. Tzimisce Dracula was in London at some time in the 19th century. Mithras, the Prince of London remembered Dracula and was a bit leery of him. Dracula also embraced Lucy Westenra, his only known childe, who was also a character in the novel.
@@lazarofstygia2241 I guess that's the part that doesn't make sense if they were going with the "The Novel was Fiction" route while they used elements from the novel anyway since the WoD was going for "Taking place in the real world" type of thing. I think what they should have done is never put Dracula into the VtM box and let him be his own thing whose not even Kindred at all but maybe more intune of a Nephandi/Mage - Vampire type hybrid who has access to true magic than disciplines like as if Dracula has a active avatar and he alone actually succeeded what the Tremere could not and he would have been more of a supervillain with fangs. Although such a shame that the World of Darkness has forgotten about Carmilla Karnstein though although I would have made her not Kindred at all but I think I would have her being more like DA: Fae as in they have access to Dominions and Unleashings while Dracula has access to spheres and true magic due to him being more occult based while Carm focuses more on raw magical power making Dracula and Carmilla the most powerful vampires around even more so than Kindred simply because they're legendary touchstone vampires.
I would be leery of giving any vampire true magic, simply because those two streams are impossible to cross, and I would never let a player sell it to me as their character. But it would be interesting to rework Dracula as having either severed his own Avatar, received the embrace, and then grafted it back onto his soul with terrible consequences, or him being partially possessed by a demon that gave him access to something like True Magic. As for Carmilla being an Unseelie Fae, obsessed with draining the glamour of young women, that's an idea that has some potential.
@@lazarofstygia2241 Well the thing is, while it's true that Cainites/Kindred vampires can't use True Magic but the point is what I'm presenting here is importing the version from Bram Stoker's novel by presenting him as a entirely different type of vampire whose non-kindred/cainite who can use True Magic due to the fact his own brand of vampirism came from black magic and alchemy from the scholomance well definitely due to the fact he was solomonari as well. Point is the term "Vampire" is a broad term that shouldn't automatically mean "Kindred" or "Cainite" at all.
DSOBH and Sabbat Storyteller's Handbook got ignored when Revised edition came around. And Kupala taught the Tzimisce Koldunic Sorcery, not Vicissitude. But these are all things to cover in another video on the Tzimisce as a Clan, and another about the Tal'mahe'ra.
That's one of the main problems with the shift from VtM to V5... What happened to the tzimisce anti?.. I mean it GOT put down... But like the fall of vienna it doesn't make a lot of sense on HOW. (the tzimisce thing was just bad.. I mean come on, that clan was more a "plot device" then anything else) That's my main problem with the clan (and probably why they got axed in v5) they are too easily "the bad guy"... They are so easily SEEN as "something to move the game along".... The lasombra? Cool concept... Easily "fit in" with vampires... They control shadows... But the game thrusts them out as something that STRAINS credibility.. So easily "game thing".. the Tzimisce?... Same thing, strains credibility.... They flesh craft AND are wizards... That just smacks of not "believable"... (most of VtM COULD conceivably be IRL... "body horror" people?... While also animating a person's pool to drown them?.. Not so much...Animating Shadows? Yeah possible... Conjuring dark clouds that kill people? and it never being seen or uploaded?? Not so much...Vampires? BELIEVABLE... These two clans? Not so much...White Wolf back in it's inception went a little "Too hard-core" in making an OBVIOUS "bad guy"... Which I guess they needed for their "meta plot"... But again, like most, they bungled the time scaling. and had quite a bit of "power creep" with their meta-plot. The Tzimisce (like the lasombra) were brought in SPECIFICALLY for a GAME. (which of course broke all immersion)
@@jamesisaacson6379 Well number one, the whole "game says bad guy" is really subjective considering everybody is kinda the "bad guy"... Even the "good guys" are the main antagonists in a monster movie already..... You start there... The lasombra? Yes controlling shadows works... BUT dash in the "lancea sanctum" from VtR.... They are "bad" because they are being "good" at what they are and are really just trying to "help"... Maybe showcase that there is SOMETHING in the dark they command that isn't RIGHT.. but none of them have a clue what it is.. (most don't care)... (they moved UNNOTICED for EONS in the church no less, and NOW want to display their powers outright? Plus just NOW have a problem "blending in" with humanity????) The Tzimisice could be shown to have the powers they do, because they ARE backwoods people that have clung to old ways of doing things since time immoral.(vampires wouldn't see a REASON to change)... But they CERTAINLY would NOT be head-banging punk rockers and still have "old world" powers and ties (again straining credibility).... Maybe ditch the VIsscitude all together. (we already have serpentis and protean for shape-changing and they bend credibility enough) The whole sabbat (two mentioned clans in particular) being "smash all the humans" and "gun down all the cams"... Just kinda FEELS very "game- based".. Loads of good stuff just maybe take it buffet-style... A good portion of VtM old school... A bit from VtR (did personal horror pretty good by second ed.) and a Smattering of V5. But that's just MHO... You did ask.
To begin the explanation it's ANTEDILUVIAN. The term refers to anyone who existed prior to the Deluge, the Biblical great flood. Kindred use the term to refer to the 13 vampires of the Third Generation who founded the Great Clans, though there were more than 13 Third Gen Kindred who survived the flood. The reason for repeated use of the term in this video is that the founder of Clan Tzimisce has no known name.
Clan Tzimisce and the Path of Metamorphosis are the apex of Kindred potential and nothing will convince me otherwise.

A fine job on the vampires of Clan Tzemecie man! But in the end, everybody loves Dracula. But not from Bram Stoker's Dracula to the Castlevania series, to Fate/Apocrypha as a Lancer class plus Berserker in Fate/Extra and to movies like Dracula Untold and many more.
Just as he intended.
Yep. He's the number one vampire that we loved with.
@@lazarofstygia2241 here's something that has gnawed at my crossover WoD mind for a while- could Dracula, having become the 'default' idea of what a vampire is in pop culture, avoid the Withering by drawing on the Glamour of that Dream? Cuz I flat out refuse to believe a clan as inventive as the Tzimmies is banal and once the Masquerade breaks, well, no one can pretend there are no monsters anymore.
@@brittanybecker170 Glamour of the dream?
one of my favorite clans, next to nosferatu, toreador, and malkavians. also, whenever we bring up vykos and whatever crazy ass tzimisce shit she's up to, i always say, "who we have no choice to stan because of namesake, ofc" (my name is also sasha). obviously vykos can do no wrong cuz theyre cool and share my name, no i wont be taking critiques.

What music did you use during the dracula segment?
The theme of the Cathedral of Flesh.
Vlad isn't getting constantly harassed by some nutjob with a whip or his own emo thin-blood of a childe, right?
Would be pretty cool if someone did take a run at Dracula with a magic whip-chain.
The animation in that show was incredible, and some of the character arcs were cool. I wish there could be a show like that based on VtM except with good writers who take their time

Best Clan Period
A man of sound mind and good tastes.
I laughed here
49:13 - 49:28
Some people throw wine when they are upset, a Tzimisce throws penises.
26:58. How does he get around the Lasombra tell/weakness of not having a reflection, since he is not one?
@@zonilo1 Fair point.

That's one of the main problems with the shift from VtM to V5... What happened to the tzimisce anti?.. I mean it GOT put down... But like the fall of vienna it doesn't make a lot of sense on HOW. (the tzimisce thing was just bad.. I mean come on, that clan was more a "plot device" then anything else)
That's my main problem with the clan (and probably why they got axed in v5) they are too easily "the bad guy"...
OK so how would you do lasombra and tzimisce then in good way?
Plus just NOW have a problem "blending in" with humanity????)
The Tzimisice could be shown to have the powers they do, because they ARE backwoods people that have clung to old ways of doing things since time immoral.(vampires wouldn't see a REASON to change)... But they CERTAINLY would NOT be head-banging punk rockers and still have "old world" powers and ties (again straining credibility).... Maybe ditch the VIsscitude all together. (we already have serpentis and protean for shape-changing and they bend credibility enough)
The whole sabbat (two mentioned clans in particular) being "smash all the humans" and "gun down all the cams"... Just kinda FEELS very "game- based".. Loads of good stuff just maybe take it buffet-style... A good portion of VtM old school... A bit from VtR (did personal horror pretty good by second ed.) and a Smattering of V5. But that's just MHO... You did ask.
Without Righteous Endeavor at the top, this list is invalid.
With a clan as legendary as the Tzimisce, unfortunately some Licks won't make the cut.
@@lazarofstygia2241If they're so legendary, let's see them strut around the modern night in a Pilgrim's hat...

@@lazarofstygia2241 I get it. Just a little tease.
You keep saying anti-diluvian but NEVER explain what that means!!!
Your pronunciation of Tzimisce is terribile.
