Awesome video. Very simple and easy to follow. This is a very common problem with the 2007-2010 Ford Edge OEM Stereo. Apparently, when you disconnect the battery while there is a CD in the player, the initialization process upon reconnecting the battery will destroy the plastic cycling cog inside the player, and render it useless forever. I'll be replacing mine with an aftermarket player....
Thanks for the upload! I put in a navi pioneer head unit into my 05 f150 with subs and what not and kept my old basically new condition stock u it for my fiancès 07 edge. They seem identical so imma try and install my one from my truck in her edge since the back light on her radio went out.
Seriously, how often do we use cds anymore? Mine did same thing every time I opened a door. Very irritating since I don't even use it. Simple solution. Use a 4mm socket to remove the four nuts holding the top, then remove the ones on the side..same size. Then unplug interface cable. Viola! Problem solved. I turfed the cd player AND the interface cable. Be careful with that cable. If you just unplug it and leave it in there, it might short out on the case. So make sure you unplug it from BOTH ends. Stereo never sounded better. No more buzzing or clicking.
Nice and simple instruction. I have a 2007 Edge. Any suggestions on how to install an aftermarket stereo? I'm assuming it's a real nuisance if I wish keep my steering wheel controls...
Great video for the removal of unit.. But now...How do you remove the cds that are caught in the player??

Thank you for this video. It helped for me to fix my cd player in my 2007 Edge.
Nick, they sell a harness for it so it should be easy.

I’d be interested to know the next steps. I have the same exact problem with my stereo.

just get a head unit that is compatiable with steering wheel controls, one of those small connectors is the plug for the steering wheel.
Anyone know how to upgrade the Ford Edge 2007 audio system? I have a wiring kit sub and amp already
What was wrong with that radio, mine is doing the same noises? What do you to fix it?
How much (w) is it
