- Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic organisms differ in size, genetic material and in the presence of membrane bound organelles.
But how is this relevant outside of biology class? The similarities and differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes form a cornerstone of modern medicine, specifically regarding antibiotics! Antibiotics attach components of cells that are unique to prokaryotes, such as cell walls. This way, the prokaryotic bacteria are killed without damaging human eukaryotic cells.

I hope doctors, pharmacists and people watch this video and know how bacteria and human must learn to live and let live and not kill conquer and rule. Abusing antibiotic is not only a threat to bacteria but also breaks the carbon cycle because antibiotics are excreted in urine and stools polluting soil and water.www. maya.doctor
Yes, we definitely need to be better about over-prescribing, and also about people not finishing their antibiotic prescriptions. Where are you writing from? Here in the US at least, doctors often have very little time to see their patients, and writing a prescription is often the fastest way to finish one appointment and move on to the next one. People here also don't understand that you can't cure a cold with antibiotics because a cold is a virus... Is it the same where you are?
