I'm Polish, 24 and a fan of WWII military literature, history, art and design. I emigrated to England and currently live in London when I was 18 to live, work and study. Let me tell you - these videos and this music makes my heart shake and not once I had to wipe a tear or two. There is a reason those people were called the Greatest Generation.
Alex C. Indeed you're absolutely right and so many brave Polish compatriots fought alongside us against Fascism and Nazism. Churchill was quite dubious politically for my leftist values but listening to the Finest Hour speech can certainly move me to teer up.
I've just discovered them through "Spitfire" and they are brilliant. Their songs, their universe, their humor, everything is absolutely wonderful. It's great to live in a time where they exist.
Always bless those girls in the fields and the people at home doing their bit! Thank you for fuelling our Grandparents and Great-grandparents bellies to victory.
Some songs just get under your skin. They start with a whisper and build to a scream that forces every hair on the back of your neck to stand to compliant attention. This is one of those songs.Sublimely crafted, audio nirvana.
The rich never "dug for Britain" they were too busy dining in the Savoy and 10 other posh hotels. While Working-class East-enders where bombed the shit out of. Tommy Liverpool

@@RobParasol1970 wow. That is fantastic. That’s were you can describe teaching, as a vocation & not just a job of work. TBH I would have enjoyed those lessons too ☺️
Yeah, it really is patriotically moving and music nerd/snob awesome at the same time. I'm American but "London can Take it" almost brings tears to my eyes (while I'm nodding my head intensely to the coolest thing I've heard in a long time).
The voice you hear on "London Can Take It" is an American journalist - I can't remember his name - who was trying to get the American public to support the war against the Nazis. So, his words were aimed at you (or at least your ancestors) and they still have the desired effect.
No, most certainly not. As bailou2 pointed out, it is patriot stuff but I dont think that is quite what they are aiming at. I think they were experimenting with a visual experiance and fell flat on their feet with this end product. I would say you might have to be a certain age to apprieciate the wartime, pathy news material but at the same time anyone with a working ear must be able to hear that these two are incrediblytalented musicians and have produced a fantasticly new concept.
It wouldn't matter, we don't have this generation to look upto anymore, all we have is millions and millions of baby-boomers and all they give a fuck about is their house prices. Country's done, anybody with a brain is getting the fuck out
It's great music but they really ought to give credit to Alan Parsons. This track sounds remarkably similar to something out of The Alan Parsons Project album from 1977, "I Robot".
I love absolutely everything about this band.
Me too they are amazing!
Same Here!!
Just discovered this and the other parts of the EP. Absolutely amazing!
I’m 51 and Only found out about this band a week ago . Absolute quality

They are so sensitive to tje source material and it really stands out in this track
I wonder..could we ever be this good again as a people.
can't stop listening to this tune. BRILLIANT.
This track is particularly evocative for me as my grandfather (S W Cheveley) organised the 'Dig for Victory' campaign.
I saw this band live a couple of years ago they were brilliant! Great music and even better gardening tips.
Haha yeah, but I also saw them and Brickston Academy and they were so good!!!!!
Saw them play live tonight at my hometown Tilburg - Holland....AWESOME!!
Happened on this by accident yesterday. Magnificent stuff! What a find ! Thank you.
The repeat button is a glorious invention at times like these!
Absolutely stunning tune, this deserves to be heard by the masses.
This music has a serious problem in that it doesn't go on long enough.
Always bless those girls in the fields and the people at home doing their bit! Thank you for fuelling our Grandparents and Great-grandparents bellies to victory.
I like very Much this group. Thierry
Genius.
1 minute & i love it already!!!!
Great stuff. They should play this at the Imperial War Museum!
I love this track.
Lessons we now most assuredly must re-learn, as always. Let’s do this.
Pure brilliance

I like the fact that they are Musicians, not auto-tuned face-and-little-clothes pop factory output.
Great blissfull band

It was Quentin Reynolds, who worked at the time for Collier's Weekly. The film was one of Humphrey Jennings' most famous works.
Spitfire is the sexiest, but I do think that this is the best track from the EP. But everyone should buy it 'cos it's a Bobby-Dazzler of an EP.
good this in live then
Надо запомнить как закапывать)
Awesome.... like a cool history channel!
Be people are learning about their countries past from listening to this
Awesome!
So... umm.... I was kinda sorta wondering...
When are you guys gonna make some MORE MUSIC????
I needs it.
Why?! It's the combination of the two that is the essence of the message.
Maybe they can do a newer version or a remix called "Dig for Brexit"

The EU27 even more so, the way completely unnecessary, institutionalised austerity is going.
Just wait for two years from when you posted this Chris - everything turned out fine.
Not.
