    Very impressive work ! You guys are very talented craftsmen, to be able to re-build that headliner, very nice...THE SAD PART, all jaquar had to do is build it right in the first place, but of course like alot of stuff they build in the factory, very sub-standard. Year after year, those headliners came down, and they never upgraded, just took everyones money. Thank you, guys for posting this you do excellant work. Shame on jaquar, for doing the same thing wrong year after year without a upgrade. Great video !

    Thank you for making the video. I had 3 Jaguar XJRs. 1999, 2002 Jaguar XJR 100 & 2004. The 1999 & 2002 had the sagging issue.

    Fantastically helpful video guys.
    Did this today on my XJ8 and it went like clockwork thanks to your advice.
    Saved so much time and resulted in no broken or damaged trim.
    It’s completely transformed the car.
    No more Bedouin tent !
    Many thanks !

    Excellent step by step video! Everything detailed and right to the point. Watched this several times before changing mine. Helped me out alot! Just finished it yesterday. Looks great. I have a 1999 Jaguar XJ8L and am the original owner. Use it to commute to work for over 20 years and still going. Less driving now with the pandemic. Love my Jaguar! Most difficult part is all the plastic parts becoming brittle.

      Hi Jim,
      Thank you for your kind comments and glad the video was of help. Sounds like you have Jag blood in your veins like we do. We run four S Types now two of which are the 4.2 R versions. Your right about the plastics - they don't really stand the test of time and you have to be real gentle when removing.
      Thanks again - take care

    I have oatmeal headliner for any XJ and also 2 cans of spray glue. Just did mine myself with the original liner. It can be bent back in. If it bends to much the contact glue will stick it to the inside of the roof.. Easy Peasey . £50 plus postage...say £ 60 in total . I have never done it before and it looks great..

    Hi Brian, thanks very much for your reply. I've been onto Jaguarheadlinings and the one they sell on ebay for 180 total is different to the one they sell on their website for 255 in that it's an exact match specially made fabric from Italy they tell me rather than off the shelf fabric and it's more flexible although they tell me the ebay one will still bend enough to get in through back door. I don't mind as long as it's close but both the oatmeal ones of website and ebay look a lot darker than my light headlining and wondered whether it was just the light. Yours does look like mine though, so maybe I should just go for it. Cheers Simon

      Hi Simon,
      The Oatmeal liner we bought from Jagheadlings was a perfect match regarding colour and material.
      Good luck with the fitting.

    I've got an 09 jag xj8. The handles on the headliner above the doors say "airbag". Is it OK to still unscrew the handles and take them down? I don't see any other way to get the headliner down without doing so. Thnx in advance.

    • @jaaagtv
      @jaaagtv  2 года назад

      The headliner trim contains the side airbag curtains so care should always be taken when working around these. However the handles should be okay to remove. Have a search on the Jaguar Forums for more info as there will be those that have had experience of these before.

      Hi Peter - Really sorry but we are unable to provide any form of external repair or maintenance service. Interestingly though one of our S Types needs a new headlining and we shall probably be posting that on the channel. Not sure when though as C-19 restrictions are a problem just now. Many thanks though for inquiring. All the best - Brian
      These look quite good - I have spoken to these people and they confirm that the lining can be replaced without having to remove the rear screen. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-S-TYPE-EARLY-HEADLINING-BOARD-WITH-WITHOUT-SUNROOF-1998-2002/143406623271?hash=item2163b36a27:g:rGwAAOSwA2hdnbpx

      on the x350 there is a hidden keyhole under the rear lip of the trunk lid (boot lid). Just push your key up into it and the lid pops.

    • @jaaagtv
      @jaaagtv  3 года назад

      Hi Dale - I don't have any details of companies in York/Yorkshire who would be able to fit the new liner. However if you are confident enough to do it yourself with the help of a friend you will save a lot of money in labour charges. Have a look at the link below for the company that supplies the new liner. For the XJ8(X308) they are around £200 delivered. Hope this helps. Regards Brian.

      I went through the same too sometimes. Try using the key to open. If doesn't work, no problem. Open the hood, and on the driver's side there is a fuse box with main + and - from the battery....jump from these terminals n the remote or door buttons shud work

      You can put 12 volt power thru the cigarrete lighter and it will open the trunk, Buy a power pack, and change the battery correctly, The cars computers and radio need power 24-7. Thats is the correct way to change the battery in the trunk, and dont buy a sub-standard battery, it wont work, after 2 weeks.
