Yeah, lots of other videos show how easy it can be, but honestly doing this was such a headache that I would just pay someone to do it. Recording the footage for this video took me all day, and the only way this headliner could be temporarily fixed was by removing the insulation from it.
Why the BMW cars Headliners are not having Durability.. even my brothers much older Nissan Altima cars Headliner is still in Good condition than my only 6 year old BMW 5 SERIES & my cars headliners start sagging out.. i mean coming down!!
A really good demonstration and a superior explanation of how the headliner can be repaired--both the easy and bad way and the proper way. Thanks for the way you presented the problems and the proper way of doing the work.
Yeah, this only a temporary fix. I will be updating this video to show people the truth facts and what will actually happen if done this temporary way. There are a few videos out there that are miss leading. Therefore it good to document so people know exactly what they will be dealing with. Must definitely the best option is to take out all the fabric and start from scratch.
Thanks for the meticulously detailed information in your video. It provides great information regarding--start to finish--DIY headliner repairs as well as when to consider a full replacement. Keep up the great works!
@@CrazyCarMods hey I'm Local Cutler Ridge can you or do you know somebody that can just do the sunroof I'm trying to sell the car so I don't want to go too crazy with spending money I just want to put something there cuz I took the old one off completely thanks in advance for your help
Good vid dude. Thank you for revealing the truth. I've watched several other dyi vids on this topic and YOURS IS THE BEST. Tips were right on ! Well spoken and your good looking which is a plus lol. Cheers !
No hagan eso. Si no lo saben hacer no lo intenten. Ese era uno de mis trabajos. Se saca el headliner , se limpia bien y la persona debe saber ponerlo. No es nada fácil y coge 😮horas en hacerlo.
It may not be perfect but it’s useful until you can get a new roof liner or a replacement. Thanks, I have a small repair and I know now that this will work. Once again thank you 🙏🏾
Great video ~ so you want to wait a minute for it to get tacky right? I tried it once , and tried to stick it right away and it bled through the fabric , like you could see it.. Is that because I applied it while it was wet.
I don't care for the money(just a little bit😂) my problem is that I can't find a fabric like mine so instead of buying a new one, I will opt to just buy a 3mm foam adhesive from one side and then glue the original fabric on it. Do you think this will work?
@@CrazyCarMods I bought a new fabric on Amazon. I must say that it was the best choice not to mess with the old one. Another advice I would give is to always paint it by hand and not use spray glue. Unfortunately my glue can finished as I bought only one, so in some parts I had to use the spray glue I had and in some points it appeared on the surface of the fabric😬 That's it.
IT will ne better if you remove old spange from the top! Cause only like that you can glue IT!!! And you already the most imlortant job, you should take it all put and first remove old glue and then put material. Better new
Finally someone puts out a no b.s. video.
Appreciate it.
Good information on what can go wrong.

@@CrazyCarMods Thank you for your explanation and good video of what happens! You explained it very well! This might work for a temporary fix.
Its definitely temporary. Once the insulation starts to go bad it a matter of time, till fix the right way.

I like your video because you didn’t go to break and come back with it fixed. Your video is honest and true. Thank You 🙏🏾
Shiiiieeeeet, going to staple mine, gluing is just too much of a pain. Thanks man.
I like the honest way you show what to expect and how it will probably turn out with aged insulation. Thank you.

This is not the right way to do it, take out the whole thing and do it properly with new fabric

Glad it was helpful bro 👍
By the way, the best glue is from the can! Specially who lives in very hot place, like myself in Malta, always sumer and sun
It’s the actual foam layer that deteriorates not the old adhesive so really it’s a case of complete removal and either recover or paint
Im actually planning to remove the hole thing because this fix is not holding up.

If you don't scratch the old isolation off.. The result will be awful
True and Most definitely. This was a nightmare of a job, just to hold it in place temporarily.
You are so precise and detailed to the direct point of it all… thank u a million times for helping to repair my boyfriends car for him❤
Glad it helped you out 👍
Great demo. Descent for the year of the car. Awesome!

What does it cost (approximately) to repair professionally? Do they have to remove the front window?
Great information.
This is a very good video helping an owner decide what to do if they have such a problem. Very effective presentation
I’ll be trying this soon. This just happened to my 2 series and I live central FL 😑

Thank you for this help and for showing the truth of the situation!
That is not going to last. Just remove it and re do. That needs to be really clean.
A very comprehensive + practical method to rectify sagging head liner
What absolutely not to waste your time trying to do!
When this happened to my 325Xi, I said: "Chicken Little was right..."
What happened to the gloves, putty knife, face mask!!??? 🤔
I think it would have been quicker and easier just to fill the whole headlining out fix it and then put it back in the car thanks for the video anyway
Looks much better
It was really genius work and your explanation was truly very easy to understand and doable. Thank you for your great job

I will work as long as the insulation is not damaged. Just dont spray the fabric itself. Be careful with the over spray. Good luck bro.

Its better to take it all Off and Clean it in the Garage
Thank you for keeping it real.

would you recommend wearing a shirt like yours?
😂😂😂
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO REGLUE THAT HEADLINER BACK UP ? MAKES NO SENSE
I ripped mine off. Cheaper.
