I laughed when your ring chime went off, I thought it was mine!! Thank you for making these videos and sharing your learning experiences….they’re very helpful for those who take the time to listen and learn! 😊
Hi Miranda, as I wrote during one of the live the only step deck that make sense for o/o micro fleets is a 53' lo pro, tri axle with double lift, ca legal with 3rd axle up, ramps, load levelers, coil pack, strobe lights, all alu with nailer boards. Carry a spare tire with you, they're not always easy to find and thus expensive. A brand new one right now runs for 90k ish on truckpaper. You can load up to 10'6" high and still be legal. Don't shy away from overdimensional loads though, that's where the money is, even in this market. Get 40ft straps, plenty of OD crates coming out of ports of Long Beach, Longview, Seattle, Everett. That's easy money.
Appreciate this inside look at negotiating. My ex-girlfriend was running a trucking company out of Los Angeles, she was also a driver. Learn a lot by watching people negotiate!
you bring up a good point with weekend loads. I've always had a feeling brokers strategize something you might feel is appealing and will hold over the weekend without issue, but they are getting you to hold it for free essentially. I've had loads like that, but it's only when I have a load going home. I park at home and a few days later it's just takes a few hours to unload monday morning and I'm back on break.
Brokers should be calling carriers for pricing not the other way around. But when you take a look at truckers and notice they wear sandals while fueling, it's pretty much game over! SMH
Yes you are right. Go into a Truckstop and see these idiots. Wrap around cowboy hats and camel shoes. I’m glad I hardly spend time in Truckstops. Sad state of affairs.

Hello Miranda, I really like your contents learning a lot from you thank you. May I know what what type of calculator are you using to get the quote that quick for customers?
As a driver who has the expenses, there's a misconception with deadhead calculations. Especially in this environment. It's not only the miles it destroys HOS. 30+% of time lost = loss of revenue. It's a calculation you, industry, has used to manipulate the driver. So wouldn't it be more advisable to figure out how to reduce the deadhead. Also, give the driver more assistance while looking, working on it. Most major hubs will also adversely affect deadhead. Mistake? I'm paid % of load, not by miles
Another thing the industry needs to figure out is the Trackers. It's a phone. It doesn't have the storage that your desk does. Sorry, the customers have lost confidence in your abilities.
I have been watching your videos, which are very helpful. We are looking to begin to work under another DOT authority. We plan to do transport with our pickup. Any suggestions anyone? We are located in Ga if that helps
ET transport just exposed in their last videos that your break even point should always be 2:25. We should charge 2:25 on top of that for a total of 4:50 per mile. Let's get a nationwide push. Every one start pushing these brokers with no overhead making 2k per load.
why don't you start calling local businesses? I start cold calling businesses asking if they got any freight they need hauled. This does two things for me, maybe I get a load, but even better, it gains me future customers in a bad area. :). I hardly use load boards these days. I get so many load list from doing all the cold calling.
Hi Miranda! May I asked if there were any penalties for turning your step deck in early? Where would you recommend renting one from. It's been hard to find!
I rent form TNT in Villa Ridge MO. The penalty is that when you take it for 6 months for example, you pay a reduced monthly rate. If you return early, you have to pay the balance of the full rate for the time you used it!
Please im a new business tow truck one im trying to make my dot , but i dnt understand this question Will any of this property get transported in vehicles >= 10,000 pounds ? Is it only the truck that has to weight less than 10,000 or is with cargo on top of the tow truck ?? Please answer
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful thank you so basically they are a trucking automation company. You would invest about 75000 and they buy you a truck and find a driver for you then share a small portion of the profit with them
I always do because it gives me a feel of the market- if I post a truck and brokers stay blowing up my phone- I know it’s going to be a fun day. If no one calls, I know I’ll have to get creative 😂
Correct me if I am wrong. Most truckers are either Dry van or Reefer. Very few are flat bed. I have noticed, you concentrate on flat bed. Can I ask why. Is it because you are in that business and it is convenient for you or I am wrong with the assumption that most truckers are in Dry Van or Reefer. I am just doing my research in trucking business so I can be wrong.
She use to run dry vans but money is really bad in that right now she started doing flat bed a while back it pays a little better but it's also more work
I enjoy watching your calmness and firm determination on the price you want and don’t take there crappy loads
I love this. You're showing us how to negotiate with the A$$holes.
no one was an asshole here I saw, this is just business 101
Stopping by to support the channel. Have a great weekend.
Watching your videos has helped our team booking freight they all watch the videos
I am addicted to this channel. Keep it coming sister!

I can't STAND that ring chime, but I also can't live without it haha
Agreed!👍🏽
Lol
I have also made mistakes since the "panic" mode is activated before the weekend's approach. I can totally feel what you went through.

I love her rawness and transparency. Most ppl charge out the kazoo for these type of insights.
These videos are great. Thanks.
2.50per mile is about it. I cal it the ramen noodle market.

It should be great when you can park your truck/trailer at home 😊
don’t let brokers know where you live it’s not there business and then they will use that as leverage against you
I always take into account oregon mileage tax when booking or loads You can add ramps to any stepdeck they may have to weld a brack though

Love how you operate 👍
Love the video, keep on pushing 💪💪
Miranda, stepdeck is far not same as flatbed. Surprised homework wasn’t done before jumping into it. Ramps alone cost 7,000$, levelers around 3,500$.
Thank you for the information.
Patients is everything. I waited 3 days in FL to get a good rate out

Thanks for the information. I like your Mother In Laws Tongue Plant (Snake Plant)
Miranda i need to purchase any course you have for trucking specially for future new authority like me.
Yep im on a van and i lost Friday and lost the weekend

Great job sticking to your guns Miranda.❤
Hi. Do you do classes on how to apply for a MC# and what it takes to start a business getting a truck on the road
Where you get load from ! What platform
Perfect
They sell ramps that come with mounting brackets for a sd
Booked a flatbed load on Friday at 3pm for a Saturday pickup from Portland to San Diego for 4K . When they get desperate wallets open up
I have been watching your videos, which are very helpful. We are looking to begin to work under another DOT authority. We plan to do transport with our pickup. Any suggestions anyone? We are located in Ga if that helps

How hard are you about running your logs and company's running double logs?
Im extremely strict on keeping with HOS and maintaining clean logs.
Would love see you booking reefer loads.
How soon do you start looking for & booking a backhaul?
It depends on where we are delivering and when. For my SD I will start looking tomorrow. For the FB on Sunday

Cold calling will always be powerful, because people hate doing it.

@TruckingMadeSuccessful ahh ok, thanks for the info! I'll reach out to them when I'm in the area and tell them you sent me 🙏🏽
Talk to Luke!
Does this patch call me every day like 6 times a day when they sound like that i just hangup
Hi Miranda what is the cost of renting the trailer?
53 fb- 1100 per month. Stepdeck- 1050 per month
Please im a new business tow truck one im trying to make my dot , but i dnt understand this question
Will any of this property get transported in vehicles >= 10,000 pounds ?

GVWR is the maximum loaded weight
I won't even put my step near the west
What do you think of morbex automation
I need to look it up !
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful thank you so basically they are a trucking automation company. You would invest about 75000 and they buy you a truck and find a driver for you then share a small portion of the profit with them

Best friend you are super human 😂😂😂
Thanks BESTIE!
Actually… you are super human.
I get 10 calls a day from those scum bags
👍👍👍👍
You on the dat board?
yep
Please do one for reefers. I want to venture into that sector
She will do it the same way with negotiations and add extra for reefer
That extra for reefer is what and where I need guidance. Please assist or advise
Reefer = a lot of sitting and dealing with bad people..
pretty sure that's a very bad rate for a flatbed trailer? Dry van is around that rate right now...
I’ll have to disagree with you regarding dry van rates
Dry van spot market $2 w dh.
Please explain and elaborate on why you have a minimum $3k for the weekend?
she's wants to get 1k a day avg over the weeks but my question is when do they reset.
Often we reset while on a load, but usually we do recaps.
Hi
How we stop the Broker working?
👏👏🇮🇳🇮🇳🇨🇦🇨🇦👏👏
48k on a 53 step wow it must be all aluminum

how much is dry van or Reefer per mile right now. I know it is a tough question but just an average in your experience.
@AJ-cg7zc for dryvan it's about $1.90/ mile rn I believe
