Its is I think it needs to be talked about, I almost dated a guy that told me he did not have one and it turns out it was because he was banned for being a child predator and even did jail time for it.

I dumped social media because it was a huge time suck and felt like I was in an audience for crazy people. People are arguing about stupid stuff and sound like they are off their rocker. Why would I subscribe to that?
I have perfectly tailored my algorithms and still I get stupid crap on my phone sometimes its hard to escape
Have a social media presence so people, websites, weirdos etc. can scour the internet, gather your info, find you, the family, the job etc. Consequences don't cross people minds regarding putting their personal info on display
Have a stalker. Do not want to put myself, friends, family, associates in harms way. Limit social media because of this terrifying ongoing situation.

Sometime it is, I have known many abusers to have no social media and specifically target their victims who have none as well because it makes it easier to control them.
They have also either been exposed or afraid of being exposed online for the proof some people have on them
or they have a very empty one and extremely private one because they use it to stalk, harass and cheat,
To me it is only if I find they have one after they said they did not.
This is true. I’ve been involved with 2 very abusive people - they had criminal histories and were chronic cheaters with a lot to hide. They avoided being exposed by avoiding social media.
@@Sammy_Kaur Yes, this abuser I knew made it seem like it was his choice he did not have one, but it was not, he was court ordered to absolve them in order to be considered “reformed” because he was using them to communicate with minors.

Just do a criminal record search on them & inquiry the friend how they know them. It seems weird that the guy was social at the party with the host had no idea who they were talking about.
i minimize my online footprint. if that triggers someone from getting to know me in person, that's on them. they have to realize that they can talk to people who know me if they want to verify who i am.
I decided to delete my Facebook two months ago. I'm trying to look for a good house share because I'm going to be living in San Diego for nine months for school/work. But, they keep asking for a social media page.😑

I only have fb and I only keep it because I have a few friends / fam that I only talk to on fb messenger. I wouldn't find this a red/green flag either way tbh. Although my fb has one decade old picture on it, I never post and I HATE selfies/being tagged in pics ..The prospect of being with someone who I could confidently know wasn't posting random pics of us online would be kind of nice. My ex was the same way (no social media, just discord to talk to friends) ..Turns out that was his only redeeming quality.

I deleted everything several years ago,I have nothing, nada. Toxic platforms with toxic people in them I don't feel a need to see what you ate for lunch today. The people I know have my email and phone number for texting.
