So I bought keygeek raw on sale after watching this review mentioning it free from crap sound. I received it today and almost every damn switch had obvious spring ping in them. Thankfully donut dipping the spring solved the issue. I trusted you bruh.
thanks for putting together this comparison! I’d seen all these “raw” switches popping up at vendors and was like, “hmm, something’s gotta have triggered this”, haha, thanks Geon! Also, isn’t a milky top/ink bottom essentially the cthulhu / cream soda formula? I would love if Gateron released a slightly recolored / cheaper Cream Soda, but I assume they wouldn’t want to do that.
gateron asks a pretty penny for ink-based switches, if it involves ink parts it's gonna be pricey. also the cream sodas design is supposedly exclusive to the designer and they can't be reproduced unless he decides so
I was literally scouring the internet trying to find out what the deal was with RAW switches yesterday. Not much info, no thanks in part to the reddit blackout. Thanks for making this vid!
I don't know but keygeek raw always feel lubed even i open them out and wipe thw factory lube out. I don't know how they do that but this.. smoothest linear i ever used.
It's a great video that fully review RAW series switches! *Little advise: The font makes sound tests description a bit hard to read. Font, spacing also all caps.
Yay part 2!! The only thing I was missing from this video was maybe at the end clipping all the sounds one after another to have some type of side by side comparison
i like it raw... when i am with you Ben.. on a serious note, I've tried the Bsun RAW linear.. and they are pretty awesome.! looking forward to building Glare TKL with them
BSUNs are the best but the switch ticks if you tap the south side of the keycap. The Sarokeys Strawberry Wine also by BSUN have the same exact issue, otherwise they would be perfect switches. Can you look into why that happens or know a way to fix it?
Honestly, Huano switches are among my favorite switches... the Ajazz Peach is a PC top & bottom with POM stem but the spring was SUPER light and they were not very good stock, but instantly transformed when lubed. For the creamy sound fans, it's a great option especially with a spring swap to something more normal weight.
Have you heard any reports of the Keygeek Raw getting stuck? This has happened to me so many times I've had to unbuild my board. Random keys get stuck (not working) and the leaf is bent toward the right side of the housing getting caught on it. I love these switches and this is so disappointing...
Keygeek and gateron sound nice, kinda reminds me of bubble wrap for some reason. I’m new and have no idea what to get or where to get started. There’s so many switches, it’s overwhelming and there’s no way to really test them all out to see what I’ll like
re: how to pronounce "Yueqing Tongda," (Mandarin) Chinese q's are pronounced like English "ch." There's some other non-obvious stuff about properly pronouncing Chinese words, but, if you're just trying to recognizeably pronounce a proper name while speaking American English, it's usually good enough to just get the q's pronounced like "ch," the x's pronounced like "sh," and the c's pronounced like "ts."
interesting comparison and looking forward to pt 2. weird that huano decided to put a hole at the bottom when it's not billed as a "silent" switch (even though this is only otherwise seen in the haimu silents afaik)
Confused about the purpose of each manu making RAW switches if all of the switches have different materials, springs, and stem lengths. Basically you could take any 6 or 7 switches and compare them and you would get similar variability. Unless they were all trying to go for the _same feel_ but using their own unique materials. It's as if none of the companies know how the scientific method works.
HAHA I think Geon named them... tbh I think they are "raw" because they have no dye in the plastic? But they all just end up looking.. kinda faux milky
Love your vids but you gotta stop that fake laugh after the smash that like button, if it happened here and there fine. But it is hard cringe seeing it in every vid.
All of these switches offer 90% of the same experience and given a blind test you're not going to scrutinize and deliberate how you much preferred one RAW linear switch over the other. This hobby has quite a lot of brainwashed individuals.
Soooooo, basically you're saying all different grades of sand paper are 90% the same... pssst, hey, mind telling me the crack you're smoking is bunk? Because I ain't feeling as high as you, bud.
Was literally trying to research this last night. Great timing haha

ohh shiiiit you're moving :O excited to see how the new studio plays out (a great excuse to do some remodeling ;))
thank god for this video. needed something that showed all of them
Damnnn you're one of the best keyboard RUclipsrs nowadays, I love the switch review variety that you cover!

the names are getting RAWther suspicious! 😳
also these sounds so smooth yet looks dully vanilla.. idk how to say it
HAHA yeah if I find some time I might just try dye-ing them, might be a fun project!
@@MakerMods whoaa, that's an unheard of idea! interesting too haha!
This is the first YT video intro made that made me sub to a channel so fast LMAO

Typing test board?

so that explains why my strawberry wines sound weirdly ticky LOL did you ever figure out a solution?
omg thank you for making this comparison video

I haven't personally, but I do have a pretty big batch of them coming in so I can do further testing!!
Looking forward to the second part!

where are you located?
@@MakerMods he is now in my basement. I have lured him there by oferring him a free sample pack od switches...
Bruh, we both moving at the same time!
I'm a Haimu switch enjoyer and by far are my favorite manufacturer. Daily driver has a Haimu x Geon whites which are my favorite tactile :D
Oh thank god you did this. I was thinking about buying 30 of each to compare them lmao
BSUN and Gateron sound the best based on these tests. I'm keen to try BSUN switches in the near future

Amazing video as always! Very thorough and in-depth! How would you the smoothness of these raw switches to the gateron CJs?

Kailh, LCET and Huano had holes years ago, recently BSUN and don't forget about HaiMu X shaped holes.
Great video, careful on the kerning of the text though. it made it very difficult to read with the letters spaced out like that.

How much do these switch namers get paid? I would like to know for research purposes

Missed opportunity to mention raw and canines in the same sentence.

Raw and smash in the intro... 🤮😂
this is bad advice for a newbie
