[Guitar Lesson] How To Create Better Guitar Solos

- Today, you're going to learn how to write better guitar solos. I’ll show you how to use and control dissonance when improvising or creating your own melodies, licks and guitar solos. The best part? These concepts are advanced, yet easy to understand and easy to use in your own guitar playing.
First, I show you how to use the 9th over any chord and make it sound awesome without it sounding like jazz or like a wrong note.
Second, I’ll show you how I use the 7th to solo over chords in a way that makes this dissonance sound like a consonance - so it sounds pleasing and not like you’re playing a jazz tune (not that jazz isn’t cool, it is, but most rock players don’t want to sound like jazz players - I’ll show you how to do this)
Third, you learn how to use the incredible, floating, dreamy sound of the #11th (aka the #4th) to get that great lydian sound and feel by controlling the dissonance.
These concepts will really help you sound more melodic in your soloing and guitar improvisations. They will give you all sorts of new ideas to create your own cool sounding licks by using the non-chord tones (the 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th).

So generally using a consonant pitch to set up a dissonant one seems to make it "fit" better? That and playing the dissonant pitch with conviction (phrasing, maybe articulate it harder etc). I appreciate the tips on specific notes to try a lot, like going from 5 - 9...This gives me a much better approach than just trying random combinations. Thank you!

Is it possible to make notes that aren't parts of the scale sound good? For example, if I solo over the C chord, and I want to use notes like D#, G#, etc. Is it possible to make them sound good? If yes, I would love to watch a video about this. Thank you in advance.
Help ! Confused !
I am habituated in playing the first note of a Pentatonic scale with an "UPSTROKE" going from the top to bottom , While coming up I start with a "downstroke" , i kinda got used to it.
Now outside the pentatonic, when i try to play any 4 note/string or 3 note/string i am more comfortable using a "DOWNSTROKE" first. But i find difficulty in doing a 2 note/per string starting with a "DOWNSTROKE".
Is it because im playing the pentatonic scale starting with an UPSTROKE that i am not able to play 2 note/string outside the pentatonic starting with a DOWNSTROKE ?
Or is it with the Synchronization thing ??
