Thank you David, started playing when I was 12 years old, old school rock 'n roll, played by ear, my mom one day made a statement to play with emotion and that has always stuck with me. I always gravitated toward rhythm guitar And dug around in each cord treating each string as an individual voicing like an individual group of singers But always with an emotional element. I'm now 68 years old And for the last month or so I've been watching your videos And have stepped back and literally leaped forward to a completely new level of expression that I have always told people that the music comes from your heart and the guitar is an instrument to funnel it through. What you are sharing on your channel David is very inspirational and solid, and your ability to slow things down and your explanations and how to listen to your inner voice I truly believe that it is unlocking a talent that lives within each individual guitarist. Thank you brother for taking the time, because time is a very precious gift we sometimes forget to use to our benefit, keep it slow, play and whisper from your heart, and let the music that lives within each of us leap forward.

I would definitely agree with closing your eyes while soloing. It truly changes the dynamics of your creativity. It takes a little practice, but when you're not watching your finger placement, it opens up a new path to self expression.

Dude what the ACTUAL FUCK?! That was a HUGE lesson. Much more of a "guru" or a spiritual guide to guitar music than average youtube scale 1+1=2 lessons out there. Your content is *great* :D

Excellent lesson! People get tired of hearing just notes. David Gilmour didn’t play 32nd notes. Or even four measures of 16th triplets. But man can he pull your emotions along!

Hi David... Thank you! I have played around with guitar for about 42 years, and I must say... You have hit the nail on the head with your approach. You are a master at explaining the exact meaning of all these concepts! I honestly want to thank you. I so enjoy listening to your "lessons" and am relearning what I could never put words to, which is so refreshing! Please, keep up your appreciated work.

Very very good David I appreciate the way that should teach even though I've been playing a lot of years I'm old I have learned from back traction you know I didn't really learn to scales I don't know how to read music. Play by ear and your explanation of how music is within us and this a gift and that we tell stories on his guitar I was really really encouraged by that my dad was a violin Cajun fiddle with my brother play with the benches for 20 years and I'm just sort of mess around but I enjoy it so much because I play what I feel it's a story that I tell for my innermost being thank you for explaining this in a simple way but yet with your heart and soul it really really translates me a lot and gives me a lot of information that I used to be able to increase my knowledge and my gift

Love the drill @ 12:00, approaching notes from a half step bend.
Also the example @ 3:25 was very useful for me to demonstrate the importance of using silence to develop motifs and hooks. Before I was able to slide around and move through patterns by ear, to crank out riffs like that seemed like a dream... Now that I'm playing riffs I'm working on learning to play less!

Thank You. i'm rewatching this daily, it's so good :) . i like this information even though it sounds simple i think its like the core of the guitar, expressing our feelings and emotions. i personally never learned any theory ever except the standard tuning e a d g b e, I have no clue of anything else. i just enjoy noodling on the guitar along the music. but recently I've been more interested in learning some theory. but one thing that boggles my mind, how much my mood affects my playing. like the days that im happy and in a good mood, i can play something randomly along a song. and then sometimes i try to play it the day after and even i can somewhat figure it out, i just never can get it to sound as good as the first random try. which most of the time happens to be like at low volume me recording at 1am when I can't sleep lol
like this part here doesn't something anything super hard even now I still can't play the timing and intervals as good as the first time. it always somehow sounds off.
any idea what the reason might be?
      Thank You so much
