Think of “what you play” as the words you use when you speak. Now think of “how you play” as the tone of voice, body language and meaning of the words you speak.
Phrasing is HOW you play something. And great guitar phrasing is about getting the “HOW” part right.
In this guitar phrasing lesson video, I show you how to develop and improve better phrasing on the guitar so that when you play something, you know how to make it sound better.
Have you ever heard someone play fast, but the notes just don’t sound that good? Sure you have. We all have. What’s missing? Killer phrasing!

Tom's knowledge and of course skill is un-matched! Using octaves is so important in my opinion, or balancing the picking of high and low notes, so the listener is not bored with too many high or low notes, a balanced soundscape so to speak 🤔
