Beautiful episode, guys ‼️ 🎉🎉🎉 Loved the beam reach go-getter. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Brought back memories of my bride and I sailing in Maine. Memories are good. New boat coming. 😊 See you next time. 🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞✨
Janaye keep posting the commentary you feel describes the journey . We know not every day is going to be a cruise ship postcard .We will stay with you through the ups and downs
Blowing fuses can sometimes be caused by loose ground wires. Find every ground wire on the boat and re-tighten all. It may not help your situation but it won’t hurt. You need good ground for good power. Be safe!
My wife and I are less than a year out from making our boat purchase and heading into the Caribbean ourselves. If it weren't for the honesty of this channel, I don't think she would be so ready and willing to make the leap. Her anxiety prevents her from believing the hype of some other channels... but with you guys showing the "lows", she feels better prepared for what's REALLY to come. Keep up the great content!
Oh that makes me so so happy to hear 🥰 thanks for your message and we’re rooting for you guys. You’ll smash it! The caribbean is definitely a good place to start with more predictable winds that the med and not too far to sail between islands. Can’t wait to hear how your plans eventuate, keep in touch on here or instagram 😊
Janaye and Jason. That was a heckuva roller coaster. Glad you guys are safe and well. I chuckled watching you feed the stray dogs. you have the biggest heart when it comes to the animals. There’s actually quite a few of you cruisers that have adopted babies along the way. Sending love from LIZ and California. I will be traveling through Europe for a while and don’t know if I’ll be able to see you. I’m thinking about going with Surfshark VPN. Then I would be able to see you. Sending love to you both⛵️💜😎🤟🏻🐬🇺🇸
Hey guys ✌️✌️✌️looks like a great time and just so cool to see other cultures its really cool ,thanks for giving me a glimpse of it ,because ill never go there .😢⛵⚓⛵🇺🇸
when mine did that i had to replace the device that hooked onto the motor that tells the auto pilot where the rudder is pointed. mechanically it worked and looked good but was junk. once i got a new one all was well.
Challenge and triumph. Who could ask for more. If the 2 of you get along through the stressful stuff you'll have a great story to tell when you do stop for that steak dinner. Take care of each other the rest will all fall in line
Nice, that airola sounds good, we spent days trying to find a 'vacation' sim when we were barging in France. Will try it on our trip to Italy in December.
Yeah it’s so much easier to do an eSIM. Then you can have it setup for as soon as you arrive too and have maps etc as soon as you leave the airport 😆 enjoy! Give me a message if you need the code when you do it. I’m not sure if our code expires but we shall see 😊
Hope you guys are safe as hurricane season kicks in with Cat 4 Beryl and Cat 5 Invest 96L storms barrels thru the Caribbean. The next week is going to be tough in that area. Wednesday/Thursday 3-4 July especially will be a good time to go to a hotel to shelter. Good luck guys and go has far north as possible (Puerto Rico should be fairly safe).
Heya! Thanks so much, we sailed north to Guadeloupe and were luckily in the safe zone. But we’re heading south to Trinidad over the next few weeks and will be hauling out there for a few months. Cheers ❤️
Yes, Peake Yacht Services near the Coral Cove Marina has always been the place to go for a Trinidad haulout also pretty safe during the hurricane season too. Wish you both every bit of luck and keep the passion!
They do 😆 it’s sometimes hard to find a safe place to take them as we like to go to quiet area’s where they feel more comfortable. Which is usually a beach with some bushes around it to explore and feel safe in. But then we have the problem with safely trying to get the dingy onto the beach too so it’s a struggle to be honest. We’d love to get then off more often though. We just purchased some of those cat carrier backpacks which is making life easier so hopefully more adventured to come
Hand held wind meters are cheep around 20 US dollars and a good nautical sextant is around 100 US dollars it’s always a good cheep insurance to have the on a vessel and know to use them
Hey Jack. Yes we’re all safe tucked into a Marina in Guadeloupe ☺️ we came back north to dodge it and luckily made a good decision. Thinking of everyone and anxiously watching 🥺❤️
@@LeadingtheEscapadeSo good to hear. I worry about you two and the other YT boaters out there. After 4 years in the Navy, I have seen what a bitch and lover the ocean can be. Very fickle.
Uppps, I think I just heard that gorgeous sapphire eyed mermaid is not going to last to long in the sailing life. That makes me sad. So when your a land queen, come and visit. OsoYolo, Antigua Guatemala.
Yeah seems to maybe more so be a sensor issue because the actual rudder itself is fine when we steer without autopilot. When we turn the wheel towards starboard the little bars on the electronics glitch in and out when we turn it hard to starboard
Yes, when things go wrong it's never fun; but you two still do well. Most Sailing Channels don't sugar coat boat life. No worries. I hope where ever you are in real time; you both will be safe with this tropical storm headed for the lower Caribbean-June 26, 2024.
Help me understand the patreon thing. Do you get paid per episode? So when you choose a dollar amount to sponsor it takes that amount every time you post a video? Is it a dollar amount per month? Does patreon take a cut? Love the videos!
I watch several sailing channels, ya gotta show the good and the bad, even if just one of your followers decides to buy a boat and give the sailing lifestyle a try, they need to hear the truth. A highlight reel would do them a big disservice. I'm here to be entertained for the most part, but I get that there are others who are considering following in your footsteps and they need to know it's not all sunny days and sandy beeches...
Use my code ESCAPADE3 for $3 off your first eSIM and download Airalo today: try.airalo.com/LeadingtheEscapade

Oh good to know thanks so much! We haul out soon so we will have a look into it then. Cheers
Thank you for the video. Yes, the highs and lows are very real. Looks great there.

Thank you for doing these videos! I subscribed today and I'm enjoying your content! Greetings from Sweden.
Thanks so much for joining us 😊🫶🏼❤️
To be fair he should be wearing a Speedo. Might even get more subscribers with him rockin the banana hammock! Great vid!
Thank you for sharing the beautiful slowmo...
I hope you are far away from hurricane Beryl. Be safe out there.
13:50 Wonderfully put.
Another great video. So good to see you having such a good adventure. There are so many great places to visit in Caribbean ~ enjoy ❤
You all sure make it look fun even in bad times ! Didn't see much of my kitties.

As a Pluviophile, it would be fantastic to see some storm and rain footage . . .
Woohoo!😻🥳
Great vid. Nice editing and sound.
Do your cats get to get off the boat sometimes and how do you do it?
They do 😆 it’s sometimes hard to find a safe place to take them as we like to go to quiet area’s where they feel more comfortable. Coolies.
Love watching along! Love to see you guys having fun.
Great Channel guys!
I hope you come to the USA! America loves Australia!

Trust you are ok ref. STORM!
Great episode!
Enjoyed 😊
A hot shower and steak dinner? Keep an eye out for me I usually have both at a moment’s notice just look for the yellow and blue on the aluminum hull.
Nice❤
Are you guys out of the way of the storms?
Hey Jack. Yes we’re all safe tucked into a Marina in Guadeloupe ☺️ we came back north to dodge it and luckily made a good decision. Thinking of everyone and anxiously watching 🥺❤️

Sounds like you need to get some boat work and much needed maintenance done asap.🤷♂️
💯 Escapade is a little worse for wear at the moment 😅
Chain drive, wire or hydraulic? I've watched a few of the vids but hard to diagnose auto without more info.
Just re watched, looks like a sensor issue unless you're having an issue with your rudder.
Yeah seems to maybe more so be a sensor issue because the actual rudder itself is fine when we steer without autopilot. When we turn the wheel towards starboard the little bars on the electronics glitch in and out when we turn it hard to starboard
Recalibration maybe
Get a windvane. No power required.

How long is your boat is it an oceanis?
Hello 😆 it’s a Jeanneau sun odyssey so very similar and it’s 40 foot or 12 metres 😊

Yeasss I totally agree with this 🙌🏼 and we do love to film for entertainment over anything else but like to keep things real too 😆 cheers ☺️
😀😀👍👍❤❤
🤠👍
I wouldn't wanna wear a thong if I was sailing a boat..lol
🤣 prob not the smartest thing to wear for moving around on a boat 😂
I Love 💙 this womanIn - In my life, I hope to find a woman so beautiful in body and mind - Leonardo from Italy 🟩⬜🟥 in Puglia
Why did I choose to live on a boat? you’re throwing that little chestnut out. To get paid for sailing that’s why, genius move
🤣🤣🤣
Damn Janaye, you are gorgeous...
