    The weird interaction with counters and Undying makes for a pretty powerful Pauper combo deck. Putrid Goblin is a 2/2 with Persist, which is Undying but -1/-1 counters. Skirk Prospector lets you sacrifice a Goblin to gain R mana. First Day of Class puts a +1/+1 counter on every creature that ETB's under your control. Since adding a +1/+1 counter to a card with a -1/-1 counter on it removes the counter, Putrid Goblin is able to Persist indefinitely so it can be sac'd over and over for infinite mana. And with an infinitely recurring minion and infinite mana there's gonna be some way to win the game with a Fireball type effect or even Makeshift Munitions. Makeshift Munitions is funnier because I imagine a zombie goblin being fired out of a cannon over and over and over again...

    Stuff I found in my old box of cards, back in 2017, when I looked after not having checked since 2002,
    Lions Eye Diamond, 4x Grim Monolith, Wheel of Fortune (Rev), Demonic Tutor (U), Berserk (B) (HP), 5x Force of Will (mint AL), etc ... Lots of stuff like that.

    Given that the Dominaria United saga is slated to have New Phyrexia centered set, i think Triumph of the Horde price would get skyrocketed. IMO chance are high infect will come back in the newest New Phyrexia set

    Recently discovered Pitiless Plunderer when I decided to see what my most expensive uncommon and common cards were. I was surprised it was so much higher than my other uncommons until I read the card. For common, it was Priest of Titania.

    Number 1 on this list for anyone who played pre-2000, but post-1994 is Rhystic Study. Between 3 collections of older players I picked out 40 of these. It's the sort of card that is sitting in a lot of collections gaining dust as the players don't know how much it's worth, and the players that do have them sitting in their collections will tend to have 4+ too.
    It's exacerbated too by a lot of the players who have a lot of these sitting as effectively bulk are players that have never played commander, so don't really see its use. Most other expensive commons are cards that are good in 60-card formats so they aren't sitting around in bulk.

  • @anthonydelfino6171
    @anthonydelfino6171 Год назад

    I would mention since the guest assumed infect is busted in commander... it's really not. The problem with infect in the format is that unlike other combat based decks, if you're playing infect, your opponents are even less likely to be helping push your ultimate win goal than they would normally be. This is because creatures with infect don't actually reduce your opponent's life total. So if I'm attacking with just generic goblins and the person to my fight is attacking with infect, he's not helping me drop a player's life total, and I'm not helping him add poison counters.
    I'll add to that the number of creatures that naturally have infect aren't at a real critical mass, and most are relatively small bodies. So most of the time you'll see a win in commander with infect is with Triumph of the Hordes. There are other cards that might take out specific players one by one like Tainted Strike, or other combos of cards like a Blightsteel Colossus + Chandra's Ignition, but in general Triumph of the Hordes is used in a similar way to other overrun style effects that is used as one fell swoop in an attempt to kill everyone at the table at once.

    • @FunnyFunFunTime
      @FunnyFunFunTime Год назад

      Do not take this the wrong way friend, but I think you are missing the most important point(s) of this video:
      These cards are expensive in relativity to not only their rarity, but scarcity in being included in a group of cards with core mechanics or keywords.
      What is 5 Euro now, in 5 years time could be 25+ Euro.
      At the time of printing these uncommons/commons were 0.05 or 5 cents each, now they are 100 times that much..
      And especially in bulk, say 30 Triumph of the Hordes, like it or not IS BIG MONEY!
      What you call speculation is actually good Magic vision of investment (if you are in the know about things like this).
      Take their advice & get these cards while they are this cheap.

    I'm sorry but the two of you saying that wizards 'cant' reprint something is uterally stupid. There are half a dozen reprint sets now a year but including camander sets for every set that include new and reprinted card, commander sets and commander reprint sets that don't hold to a theme. And the holding to a theme is both completely arbitrary and a lie as every set has random cards that have nothing to due with that set theme wise. For the last three to four years the cards could easily been printed in the plethora of side products, you spouting wotc bullshit shows your a consumer not a customer who will buy every lie as they could come out tomorrow with a reprint set with every card that needs a reprint. Nothing but the value in the secondary market is stoping them, drop the bs
