There was a post credits scene that was cut from the movie. I don't know if it was filmed, but the scene was Harry and Marv are in prison, watching TV with other inmates, and they're watching the movie "Angels With Filthy Souls". It gets to the scene where Johnny kills Snakes, and Harry and Marv look at each other and realize that it was a movie.

That's hollywood, they have no concept of living a normal life, of struggling just to pay your rent, almost every movie that involves such a setting (a family, a home, a community/neighborhood), it's always the hollywood setting: massive mansions and estates, for the "working man's/family's home/neighborhood/community" character/family in the movie...
maybe the best example is the 'elysium' movie, I'm like, yep, elysium, that's hollywood, and the slums are the rest of us...

The movie ended up taking the top box office spot for 12 weeks, opening in mid-November and not being displaced until early February the following year by the Julia Roberts thriller, Sleeping with the Enemy. It held the record for the most successful box office comedy for 18+ years and was a Thanksgiving staple airing every year on NBC for around a decade.

The ONLY HA movies are those with Macaulay Culkin… and it’d be so cool if Macaulay did another one BUT with Catharine O’Hare playing his mother’s twin sister MOIRA ROSE from Schitts Creek. Boy would they take in the 💰 blending these universes… 👍

It took me forever to notice it, but the McCallisters' house is completely Christmas themed. The walls are all painted/wallpapered in red and green.

When I was a kid I felt a bit sad for Kevin. I have a large family myself since my mom was 1 out of 14 kids XD So I have a lot of Aunt's, Uncles and Cousins, plus most of us are girls with only a handful of boys. The Holidays were exactly like the beginning of the movie, crowded and a bit overwhelming at times. Of course, we picked on each other, but weren't downright mean.

Why are the Wet Bandits so obsessed with That House in particular when there are so many other houses exactly like it at either end of the lane? If anything the fact that they keep trying to get back to it would make them all the more noticeable and suspicious.

Fun little detail the traps and stunts that the robbers are subjected are actually performed by the actors. That first slip on the ice actually made people go check on them because it hurt to look. But the actors were really wholesome and said they’re fine.

This is the highest grossing domestic box office comedy of all time, and that's not even accounting for any inflation that's occurred since 1990 when the movie was released. Home Alone 2 is also widely considered a classic. Anything after that I've never seen...

The old guy was an actor by the name of Roberts Blossom. He passed away in 2011. He was very well known in the 70's for acting in low budget horror movies. Low budget or not, he could be down right creepy. My favorite of his horror movies is one from 1974 called "Derranged". That movie is the Ed Gein story, only the character names are different.

I highly recommend you guys watch “Eloise at Christmastime” it is set at the Plaza hotel, which is also the same location for “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”. I wonder if in the cinematic universe Kevin and Eloise ever band together to wreak havoc on the hotel lol (Eloise is suppose to be 6 and Kevin in that movie I believe is 10) but them banding together would have been freakin amazing! IMHO… anyways yeah Home Alone 2 and Eloise at Christmastime for sure. Keep up the great content guys

A huge part of the charm of this movie is the music.
In the Netflix documentary they are working on this low budget film in a Chicago and had a rough edit with temporary music which I guess was terrible. John Hughes said "wouldn't be great if we could get John Williams to do the music?"
John Williams... the biggest movie composer of all time.
On a lark they sent him a copy of the movie. A couple days later Williams' assistant called and said "Mr. Williams loves the movie! He said he has always wanted to do a Christmas movie. He's in the other room working on it."
