Ay I got the same exact car, pretty solid I'm not gonna lie to you. Planning on getting my paint fixed up and replace the right tail light since it got cracks in it. Solid car though man, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that got one of these :D
I bought a lower mileage es330 and I had a long list of repairs. I had to change every wear part on the car. Now the car is eating miles problem free. All in, 10k over four years of ownership. (purchase and repairs) It's really not bad considering the current shape of the car and the fact I plan to continue to drive it for the foreseeable future.
Brother i got me a 17 year old honda accord that ive spent tons in oil just to keep the engine going, and im right there with you lol. Still something about it draws me to wanna keep it. Its definitely a symbol of nostalgia of that time period to say the least. I hope you can get your lux machine running and going like new! Just like im planning with mine
Bro my Lexus 1998 GS300 I bought Feb 1 2024 from the original owner this guy only did oil changes an brakes so now I’m stuck doing tons of mechanical work he neglects I did plugs, valve cover gasket, trans flush AC fix, and I brought it to Toyota bc the ABS Light TSC OFF light came on an the Brake Booster ABS MC was whining an not braking proper I diagnosed it as that part too but since it’s $1900 dealer only part I figured let them diagnose it an instal they called me back with a list of things I need that I just replaced an are brand new lying to my face said the ABS Brake Booster and MC is fine and that I need 4 rotors an pads and a rear caliper is locked up I said that will not fix my problem tho they assured me it would I said the whining sound is coming from the brake booster she tried telling me that it’s the engine because there is oil in the engine from leaks I had to tell her to think about that really…. An I approved rear caliper an front brakes bc they charged me $450 for two diags when it took them an hour to lie to me an I needed to spend $1000 for it to disappear an it came out to $1500 an the same symptoms happened car won’t break and pump whining an lights on before leaving they said oh well I left a bad review an owner of Toyota dealer said he would fix this an they been ignoring me since so I went to a Lexus specialist by me it’s going to cost $5000 for the brake booster MC and also Cam Seals, Water Pump, VVti Gear Seal, an timing belt and it’ll fully be fixed mechanically anything else I do is preventative maintenance like lower ball joints known to snap an destroy the fenders an diff fluid and oil pan gasket shit like that…. But this is why I work on my car myself but I’m 29 an ducked my body up already an can’t physically do any repairs right now so I’m stuck paying but it’ll be worth it low mileage car I already took it on a long 2000 mile road trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway which are steep mountains an back it handled it perfectly…
