- In this video I show you how to create a geometric pattern using dot grid paper (or graph paper). Follow along with me so that you too can create this pattern. Al you need is paper and pen.

This was really fun to watch you do. Something I think I would like to try. The shading really adds so much to the overall effect. Thank you for sharing!❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh, Betsy. Thanks for the square doodling. I love it.
Glad you like it!
Oh forgot to say, your colouring book would be great for a long flight, I just love it!
Absolutely, lots of fun stuff to color and doodle on. 😊
Wow, I'm super impressed that you can keep your shapes so consistent without using a ruler🤯
thanks! I'm doing my best to use the grid on the paper to guide my lines.
I love this pattern. Right now I'm crocheting a blanket with a square pattern.
I will also send videos of an artist that spray paints walls in 3D patterns. Is only tools a can of spray paint and cardboard. She does it quickly, who will hold the cardboard up and give a quick spray and go go go LOL❤
Wonderful! Thank you.
I'd love the artist's name if you can share
WOW!! I love geometric shapes. I think I will start with a simpler one called falling blocks. The name comes from a quilt pattern. Thanks for you post I enjoy you way of explaining things!!
I know which pattern talking about. I love that one too very much .
That's a great pattern too
I would love to see some more geographic pattern stuff. I love ur normal stuff as well but I think geometric shapes is what got me into drawing
@@craigharris3548 yeah, I really enjoy when her math brain comes out :D
Now here is a challenge 🥰. So fun!!!
fascinating, just watching, now will have to find some graph paper, thank you for a difficult looking pattern.
I'm glad you like it. We all need a little challenge from time to time.
That is so cool, I love it. I think I might purchase some graph paper. Thanks for sharing. It is much appreciated.
You are so welcome!
If you have a printer, you can print them for free too, and modify them to your preferences
Graph/grid paper is The Way, it's all I use now for just about everything.
This is excellent! I have a really tough time with geometric shapes because I'm not very spatial. The breakdown of the shapes and patterns is so helpful! Thanks for sharing 😊
I'm glad this helps 😊
Very neat love this one a lot. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Betsi!
와우~~훌륭한 작품이에요~~감탄이 절로 나네요👍🏻
It looks great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
very nice thank you!
Love it 🥰 thank you.
Miss Betsi.....you are a dream come true...I have been trying to figure out MC escher drawings and this video helps. Could you do more of these? I love geometry but lack the math. Thanks much for these videos
Yes I can 💕😊💕
yr an awesome teacher...ty.
Wow, thanks!
❤ it
This would be great on a long flight! 😊
I may get some paper like that and draw some geometric patterns, starting with the one you have shown us. I have always loved geometry and angled shapes so that is my kind of pattern. Thank you for sharing it.
Wonderful! Let me know how it goes ❤
I watch you all the time you are amazing I will keep trying
This was very relaxing to watch. I have the dot paper, I may try it on that. I don't see mine looking like yours. You make it look so easy.
Perhaps just a little more practice, and it will start to shape up. Before drawing this page for the recording, I drew the design seven times before settling on this one.
@@betsi_jae wow!!
Thank you 💜
You are so welcome
To those who want graph/dot paper - if you have a home printer, it's a snap to print them for free yourself, and even adjust the specs to your liking. My life changed when I realized this 😂
That's a great tip. Thank you 💙

Is a nice pattern. Rhe challenge is drawing it without guidelines and using it in combination with other zentangle patterns in a zentangle tile artwork. It is not an easy pattern to combine nicely with other tangle patterns.
You're absolutely right. I have a simplified pattern based on this design that I can share in a "zentangle" kind of way. It creates a more flowing design and can be achieved without the grid. I'm thinking of sharing the pattern next week to show the comparison.
great! Looking forward to see your pattern next week. I am always quite fascinated with geometrical shapes and to see how they are being shaded. This is a very nice pattern. I tried without grid lines sometime ago and eventually gave up because I found it hard to mix with other zentangle patterns. Also you mentioned that you would be doing a full video on one of your journal artwork. I can't remember which day was it but I remembered it was my favourite. Hope to see that one day too :)
It was day 78
If I could only get past your very first one example I 😂would be happy
