From the music, the formula, the characters. It's always been leagues beyond the other farm genre games, even to this day, where there's a farm sim boom and everything is just a carbon copy of one another. Their peak was from when they started until 4, then they went on a long hiatus. It seems like with this they're going back to their roots of what made them great and I hope they just remain true to that.
No self insert character customization. I like rune factory for what it is where you play as a protagonist with their own story and an identity of their own. Hopefully future rune factory games follow Azuma where the protags are both part of the world and can interact with each other. It would also be nice if we can have just one protag again for once, just like in the old titles. Don't like how other farm sims are so focused on "inclusivity" or "diversity" and just have you play as a self insert rather than play as an actual protagonist. Hopefully rune factory doesn't ever do this, because their protagonists are what makes them beloved and remembered. It wouldn't be rune factory without Raguna, Kyle and the others.
My only experience with the Rune Factory series was Tides of Destiny on the PS3, i remember it having a really fun battle system Guardians of Azume seems to be the first game to have a fully fleshed out hack n slash combat since that game, so i'm really interested in checking that one out once it releases Also love that you mentioned Sakuna of Rice and Ruin, gotta be one of the most underrated Indie action games ever, the gameplay is so fun and stylish, need people to make more cool games like these
Play rune factory 3 and 4 if u ever catch them on sale they're both really good my only complaint was 4 random events which if you want to marry anyone need to all their events but since they're random u never know and also the final part is tied to a random event to
@@mysetlist2118if you save before the day of the random event you can keep loading the save and get a different event the next day until you find the one you need. That’s what I did
I recommend giving Tides of Destiny a try. It's definitely an odd one in the franchise as it added a lot of new elements. Though execution is... hit or miss. I love the golem traveling it added and the combat, however the farming aspect is a weird change that I don't care for. Also the in-game time goes so fast you kinda have to put your time management to the ultimate test. Personally I think Rune Factory 3 is the best in the franchise. Like 4 was good, but honestly I think it's way too overhyped. Once some of the bugs and lags were fixed, 5 has been enjoyable. It definitely could have been better, but I think people quit on it way too quickly before really giving it a proper chance.
Dating MILFs in rune factory... thats hella doubt there my friend also guardians of Azuma will be what RFOceans is to RF4, now which ideas from guardians of azuma will be stucked into RF6 that is something I'm going to be curious about
I only played 6 rune factory games. Frontier, the 1st, 2nd, Tides of destiny, 4 and 5. Never played 3 and I can say that this is true at the very least for RF 4 but people dismiss 4 because "Is not pixel graphic and looks cheap" like what the actual fuck. Farming games wished they could be as complex and full of content as 4. Sure writing wise it may not be as good as RF 3 according to hardcore fans but 4 is the best game in the series. 5 was a massive downgrade and looks awful considered is 3rd 3D game, tides of destiny looks so much better RF 1 got a direct sequel Frontier and I love that game so much but has some flaws like slow animations and the runey system which I actually like because it gives you stuff to do. RF 5? Sorry but that game hot garbage, people hyped up because "UHHHH GAY MARRIAGE" get that gay shit away from me. But the worse part of 5 is that it has way too big areas and is soooo slow, runs horrible and the NPC are so robotic is like going back to RF 1 in 2022. Sukuna is sick but my god the rice harvesting, farming was way too depth and no guides at the time made the game very painful to beat, is such a shame I never 100% but Anyway for those interested the recommendations are RF 4 any version, RUNE factory frontier but that's stuck in the WII. If not go with RF 2 or 3. 2 has the particularity that the real game begins when you get your child and spoilers...lets just say no other game has done what RF 2 did. Stay away from 5 and the new one looks great, I hope they polish it a bit more and yes Harvestella was a big TURD.
no it doesnt. Plus is 100% Japanese which we have never had. The textures could use a bit more work but animations are fast and runs way better than 5. Look Frontier is cool and all but that's a 2009 wii game, I replay it from time to time but that game wasn't perfect. Plus really? u didn't mention the GOAT rune factory 4? weirdo.
Thanks for watching!

I didn’t like Tides of destiny because the farming looked bad and clunky. I LOVER RF4. I’m looking forward to play 5 a month or two later
I loved RF4, I droped RF5 due to performance and overall graphics, but I'm excited for this new spinoff, it looks it is more polished version of RF5
rune factory frontier will always have my heart
Is a really good video, subscribed

I have Rune 3 for my DS 2 and Rune 4 & 5 for my Switch. I am looking forward to the new game! 😏👍
rune factory seems to be heading in a better direction that story of seasons imo. the last few original sos releases have been so lacklusster
the 3 did not sold very much despite being so good

I read that Rune Factory 4 sucks and someone new should start with 4 because that is the peak of he series.
Game looks bad. Don't like the character designs and the direction of the game. RF1 and Frontier were the best.
