    Welcome to the exciting world of RC (Radio Controlled) flight! If you've ever dreamed of taking to the skies, Horizon Hobby has you covered. We are committed to engineering aircraft that you can learn to fly with successfully even if you've never flown RC before. Every HobbyZone® aircraft we offer features industry-leading design and technology developed by experts to keep you in control and learning at your own pace so you can turn your dreams of flight into a reality!
    The HobbyZone® Carbon Cub S 2 is the easiest to fly, most capable and versatile scale trainer RC airplane yet! It's equipped with exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. And you can instantly return to steady flight using Panic Recovery with the push of a button in any flight mode. Oversized tires make it possible to take off and land on a variety of surfaces including thick grass, gravel paths, dirt trails and smooth pavement, or you can install the optional floats to fly from water-which adds to its unmatched versatility and capabilities.
    The Carbon Cub S 2 is equipped with a 30-amp telemetry-capable ESC that provides a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more to compatible Spektrum™ AirWare™ equipped transmitters, and even approximate flight battery power remaining via multiple LEDs on the DXS transmitter included with the RTF version. The addition of exclusive Spektrum Smart components including a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery and charger make it more convenient to charge properly and safely (battery and charger sold separately for the BNF® Basic version). And you have the option to easily upgrade to SAFE Plus GPS-enabled technology that offers features such as AutoLand and Virtual Fence, along with the option to install the Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) that automatically "flares" for smoother landings, to make learning to fly-and to land safely-easier than ever!
    The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes everything needed to fly in one box, and is the perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot. From the Spektrum DXS 2.4GHz transmitter you can use with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) and BNF Basic aircraft after you learn to fly the Carbon Cub S 2, to the 3S 2200mAh Smart LiPo battery that delivers long flight times and the convenient S120 USB-C Smart charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources, there's nothing extra you need to buy or provide! A BNF Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their favorite Spektrum transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own. And for both versions, the powerful and efficient brushless power system including a telemetry-capable ESC, plus the flight controller, receiver and servos, are all factory-installed in the durable EPO airframe that assembles quickly and easily without the need for glue or special tools.
    Features:
    - The most capable, versatile and easiest to fly scale trainer based on the iconic Carbon Cub from CubCrafters
    - Equipped with exclusive SAFE® technology that helps prevent crashes and makes it easy to learn how to fly
    - Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes you can easily change between at the flip of a switch
    - Panic Recovery mode at the push of a button to prevent loss of control and crashes
    - Factory-installed servos, Spektrum flight controller and serial receiver

    Horizon is the best. Mine had a bad aileron servo that caused a crash that I repaired and instead of sending me a servo or sending the plane in the sent me a new plane! Took 3 days from 1st email to the plane at my door. I'm now a loyal customer for life.

    Best bit about SAFE for me (apart from me learning to to fly on my own using it) is when I use a buddy box arrangement to teach someone. Whatever mode they fly in I am set to beginner so when they get into trouble I just drop the trainer button and keep my hands off. The older (gyro deniers) fliers are always most impressed by my recoveries. I have explained that it's not me but they go all glazed over when I mention gyros so I just take the glory now.

    I actually have the Old red version of this plane , Fly's great and installed flaps not to long ago. Have not tried yet . Sure it will be great. I do like the looks of the current yellow / silver. If I crashed mine and could not repair it would be replaced with this one. Also glad the GPS is now optional ! great job horizon.

    I just love my Carbon Cub S2.
    It's a great trainer. I personally like flying low and slow and doing touch and goes.
    If you're interested in this plane and expect to perform stunts, you'll be playing with fire. Word of advice. If you do decide to perform basic aerobatic maneuvers, beef up the wing struts. I crashed mine a few nights ago after the wing strut literally got tangled and jammed in the aileron servo.

    I’ve got the first version, crashed a few times and it’s still flying, my fault both times, first was allowing it to auto land and forgetting the tree behind where I took off from. So naturally as it was coming around for landing it crashed into the tree lol, fixed it up but then I didn’t realise the front undercarriage was weakened and it collapsed, but easily repaired.

    Not having any luck at all with the rtf version. The receiver does not recognize the transmitter and tech support is almost leaving me feel helpless. I turn the transmitter on, I get a blinking red and blue light, then the servos go to full extent and lock. I emailed support and got a diagram showing me to bind the transmitter. I thought the rtf version was ready to fly? The diagram is showing me a button on the receiver and I can't even find the receiver. All I can see is the flight controller. Frustrated and have no clue how to solve this problem

    Is there a video anywhere on how to install the GPS module and get it working? I can't get mine to enter the compass calibration. just the red and blue flash. I've installed the gps module, plugged in the flight battery and it never moved the tail, rudder or ailerons, just flashed the LED. Then I tried holding the sticks down and inward while turning on the transmitter but that also gets no flapping or wagging. I've got the manual in front of me currently and it says verbatim "before calibration GPS lock must be established for your location: 1. remove the prop if it is installed orr activate throttle cut." Check, I've got that down. "Power on transmitter and receiver and set the model on the ground on its wheels. the aircraft's elevator will move up and down once quickly and center." Mine never does this. just the red and blue. Help please?

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  3 года назад

      If you're inside a building, under a structure and/or surrounded by buildings, the GPS won't likely be able to lock on to any satellites. Make sure you're outside and the airplane is not under any structures and/or surrounded by any/many buildings. It may take upwards of a few minutes, but once the GPS locks, you should be able to proceed with the remaining steps for compass calibration and/or initialization. And although it's not the same model, the Apprentice STS uses the same GPS unit and functions the same as the Carbon Cub S 2 so you can reference this video to see how the GPS lock, initialization, setting the virtual fence direction, etc. process goes: ruclips.net/video/zqSiDzWCeSc/видео.html

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  3 года назад +1

      The "(ARF) airframe only" versions did not sell well in the past (so we do not plan to offer them in the future), and you can accomplish the same thing buy purchasing the airframe spare parts separately. Or, we do offer the BNF Basic version without the transmitter, battery and charger included with the RTF version: www.horizonhobby.com/product/carbon-cub-s-2-1.3m-bnf-basic-with-safe/HBZ32500.html

      @HorizonHobbyProducts  8 месяцев назад

      This model is based on the full-scale Carbon Cub: cubcrafters.com/carboncub
      "The Carbon Cub has redefined expectations for backcountry aircraft. It has taken the fundamentally superior design of the Piper Super Cub and reinvented it using 21st Century materials and computer-aided design. Superior engineering results in the Carbon Cub having 50% fewer parts, and weighing more than 300 pounds less, than a similarly equipped Super Cub. It can take off and land in patches that you thought were accessible only to helicopters and hikers, all while being able to take the abuse of backcountry exploration."
