Great lesson, and there's something to be said about the RUclips "filmmaker" space where brands will send out a piece of gear to them, creators hype you up about how amazing this thing is, and then never talk about it or use it again. Less is more, learning filmmaking theory first is also a great way of informing your purchase decisions.
Yup.... Completely agree with you dude.... My wife calls me out and is at the same time my biggest supporter. Alot of times she's pushed me to make a purchase I was on the fence on for a reason only she saw at the moment that ended up paying big time
Our wives are the same. She’ll call me out on stuff I really don’t need, but when I do she pushes me to do it. That’s awesome you have her, not just for that reason lol

Oh man I bought alter rings for vnd Filters it was at Kickstarter used it one or 2 Times. Samyang 85mm T cine lens. Used it 3 Times? 🤦♂️ in General I wait 2 or 3 weeks at least

I love the buddy check or whatever, I was impulsively going to buy another a7siii and my wife said is there something more professional you have been wanting but just can’t seem to save for it (fx6) and she was like wouldn’t it be smarter to save for a bit then just buy that, your current gear works great why not just wait a bit longer. So I did now I have an fx6. Best advice I could have had on that. Honestly the gear videos are out of control and I have stopped following certain RUclipsrs due to the fact they just didn’t bring anything to the table other then making me feel like sh*t. I’m so sick of seeing “why I switched to” videos only to find out they never switched lol. Sorry rant over.
Love the rant, because it’s true. The obsession over the latest and greatest never stops. Only a few talk about story or anything else. Any camera out right now will get the job done. Wife sounds like a great supporter for you, love that.
@@willthedp Yea sometimes the best thing is stay off RUclips haha but every once in awhile find these smaller channels that bring way more to the table then the bigger ones. Like if I see 30k or less I’m interested. Funny how that works. And yea she is smarter then me haha at least in business senses so I’m glade she talked me out of the 2nd siii.
