Beautiful review. One option couldn’t find is how to hide data screens without removing them. Something that was possible on Edge 520. I see new firmware 7.85 currently in beta will have this missing feature added.
Excellent (and efficient) presentation. For me, though, it's a pity that the map screen allows only two data fields, max. I'm using the Edge 705 which suits my current purposes well, and it allows 4 data fields which is critical for me. The 1030 certainly has the room and I feel it should also allow a larger data field option there.
Have a look at the Sigma Rox 12 - the screens can be customised to a greater degree than Garmins can. I have a demo video ruclips.net/video/l7g5tLYZtgY/видео.html - it doesn't show it but on the part of the vid with data fields you can add a map of varying size if i recall.
I deleted the Indoor and Mountain profiles, then I copied my (main) Road profile to create an Indoor profile - but when I swipe the screen, it's just looping around the same single screen of data, there isn't a map screen like there is on the Road profile. I know a map isn't necessary if you're on an indoor trainer, but it would be good to see where I am on the map when riding indoors using a loaded course.

Can you please tell me how to change the language back to English on my garmain 1030. Accidentally changed in my pocket and I can’t read it to navigate where to go to change it . 😀
Di2: is it necessary to have the Di2 sensor to track the gear? What about the Di2 battery? is a sensor required to have that indicated. this was much easier to understand because you didn't go too fast with the explanation. It seems you really know your way around with this Garmin and it's features.
Hi Reid - thanks for your +ve feedback - always appreciated. You will indeed need Shimanos wireless transmitter to receive Di2 gear and battery data on your Garmin. Hi, I just got my 1030 plus and in fact 1st ride today.. however, the total distance and avg speed are not moving.. any idea why and how can I do it?

but how do i Rearranging activity profiles? it really makes me mad that i can't move my favorite one to the far left on the home screen
