I totally rebuilt an old GT Zaskar mtb into a new bike, with a Vision Kilo carbon frame and a full Shimano XTR set and oversize XTR 9120 disc brakes on XTR wheels. It is as light as can be and brakes like a dream!
So enjoy new video Wednesday’s. Once again you have used your magic and transformed another bike to new status. Please let me know when you are going to open a satellite store here in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 😀 cheers
We buy these in bulk through trade wholesale. We are looking at the feasibility of adding a shopping section to our website as the RUclips channel grows
Another week and yet another bike brought back to better than new condition. Always a joy to see the care and pride you take in working on the bikes that come in to your shop
We really are proud of what we do and the videos we’ve put out over these past 2 years so thanks very much for joining us. These are the comments that keep us going 4 days into a nightmare filming session lol🧡⚙️
Beautiful work sir, a rebirth for this Giant bicycle. Better than new even; as most factories aren't nearly as meticulous as you are with for exact spoke tensions, correct grease, torque on bolts, wheel orientation.... The After picture is outstanding.
Another great video! Had to wait until the end to see if you used hairspray on the grips. My dad taught me that trick many, many years ago. Compressed air is another way to easily remove grips…cover the end with one hand and blow the air under the other side.
Omg! My first real mtb three years ago. Changed everything, from brakes to stem to suspension and then found that I needed a trail bike and not a XC machine. Nonetheless, still love that red beast ♥
Awesome clean and service. This is a great looking bike and well worth the cost of the entire service. Lots of complex issues that needed the Bikespeeds freshen-up. Thanks as always.
I love the weekly videos, never miss one. I was wondering, though, had you thought about doing some 'how to' videos. For example, pick a single job, like adjusting the front derailleur, on one of these bikes, and walk us through your procedure for it
Hi Gavin, if you check out our recent Q&A video we answer this very question ruclips.net/video/sd_IsLX21Gg/видео.html it’s just over half way through the video. 🧡👍🏻⚙️
Beautiful bike. I wish you would have gone with a full 1x conversion on that one. Already doing chain ring, chain and cassette. Just needed a derailer and a wider cassette. Would have saved alot of labor.
2:35 you mention that kink in the cable and stress that it makes a huge impact, but it could be easily overlooked by someone who is dealing with shifter issues because they just doesn’t know about how much those kinks can actually affect the shifting.
As per normal, great job. The posting does not really show how much work you put into this, I am almost there on my rebuild and it has taken me just a bit longer because of your work, it has upped my game and that can not be a bad thing. thank you for some of the best video's on here
When you encounter a tire reversed on the rim, ask the customer if he put it like that on purpose. He may have to get a sharp edge block or some other reason. It helps to ask first just in case.
WD 40 and Hair Spray. You learn something new every day. Did you know WD40 will remove external stickers on a painted surface with no paint damage. Cheers
Great video,I have a carrera bike which the rear of the frame seems to be bent as the wheel sits in the hangers but it goes to the right. And is not in the center.is this fixable?
Unless the bikes had a mega shock of some discrimination it’s highly unlikely the frame is bent. It’s most likely something with the wheel or the skewer springs incorrectly fitted one side causing the wheel not to seat correctly in the drop out
hey mate, since you have greese and dirt and that black stuff on your hand after the bike how do you clean your hands cause i always have trouble getting the black stuff of my hand?
Why, why why in all whats saint you would put tubeless tyre with tube, if the bike came like that then you should told the customer that is a heresy and it simply needs tubeless tyre sealant and a valve, which in the UK is cheap as soup.
@@Bikespeeds It was just to ask whether you're open the week between Christmas and New Year as your online booking form was letting me book in a service but I thought you might be closed. 🙂
Thanks Phil. A couple of things we’ve sorted out there! One we didn’t realise a mistake not letting DM’s through and although I’d done all the dates we couldn’t do bookings I forgot about Christmas! Great job👍🏻🧡⚙️

Haha thanks for watching Kevin!🇨🇦🧡
Great job as usual. I used that hair spray trick about 45 yrs ago. Learned from pop with motorcycles😎
Awesome😎🧡
Sometimes reversing tyres on rear was old school, for extra grip!, especially with Tioga Psychos on old MTBs from the 90s
would you be willing to provide a link to the super slick cables you like to use? TYVM

Great tip, hairspray to slide the grips on to the handlebars! 🙏🏻
Been waiting for you're video 😄
🧡⚙️💪🏼
Bike came out looking brand new!! Great work as usual.
Thanks again glad you enjoyed it🧡⚙️
Loved this one! What a transformation - looks like a brand new bike.

Great job, you've made me want to ride my mtb 😌. Cheers!

The hairspray trick works great, thanks for watching Russ!🧡⚙️
Yes. Or isopropyl alcohol
Top workmanship there👌🏻👍🏻
Workmanship is just beyond awesome. Love all the videos .. cheers 🥂
Thanks for watching! Great to see you in the comments 🧡⚙️
Great job as usual! Nice loooking bike also.
Missed this yesterday 😢 another stunning overhaul 🙌😎🇫🇮
Haha you get here in the end lol🧡⚙️
@@Bikespeeds I blame work, they have had me hard at it this week. Not enough YT time 🤣
Profesinal job, like the talkover on the details

This bike definitely was needed it! There was so much wrong with one the only option was a rebuild🧡
Always admiring your excelent work done with love for the bike world and the fabulous, well detailed explanation, step by step, of your videos!
Thanks very much Jorge! We appreciate the kind comment 🧡
Good vid bike speeds
Thanks! 🧡⚙️

lovely service
Thanks Robin!🧡⚙️
Very satisfying, I hope you charge a lot!
I absolutely love my Fathom, same year as this one. The next thing for me is to restore the frame
Enjoy!🧡⚙️
Love it, huge job, perfect transformation.

Thanks Sweep! You’re not wrong there’s plenty that goes into these so we appreciate your support🧡⚙️
It is faster to leave the old cables on the frame and change the housings first, that way you use those cables as guides for the new housing.
Love the MTB videos most!
We try to get a good balance of a bit of everything for everyone, glad you enjoyed this one, thanks as always🧡⚙️
Thanks for sharing, look forward to Wednesday's and you're new video . Super job on the fathom I guess it's a few years old? 👌
A couple years on now this one so definitely needed this freshen up. Thanks for all the love!🧡⚙️
Amazing video again
Thanks for watching! 🧡⚙️
Exellent job
Thanks Ruti!🧡⚙️
Great vid 👍
Thanks for watching Tony🧡
amazing video. Quick question what would you use to get old tubeless sealent from the frame? I have couple of stubborn spots on my aluminium frame.
Warm soapy water & car polish
Was that rim tape or insulation tape ? I have used insulation tape myself when I didn’t have any rim tape ! Great video as usual 👍
Its schwalbe rim tape
This was rim tape🧡⚙️
Thank you 👍
Great vid again! Which derailleur hanger tool and pin press tool do you use? Thank you so much
💚 Great video as always! What do you do with the used chainrings and cassettes? Do you chuck them in the bin or is there a way to recycle them? ♻️
When you encounter a tire reversed on the rim, ask the customer if he put it like that on purpose. He may have to get a sharp edge block or some other reason. It helps to ask first just in case.
Hello,
Will we see a full modernization / upgrade on some bikes? lets say from bike like this transform to magura mt7 1x12? etc
or full repainting?
What grade and type of emery cloth do you use to clean the brake discs. ..?
Memory cloth? 7:24 Very nice video as always.
Emory cloth. Sand paper basically🧡⚙️
Great work again, enjoyed that.
WD 40 and Hair Spray. You learn something new every day. Did you know WD40 will remove external stickers on a painted surface with no paint damage. Cheers
The more you know!🧡
Can you do a service video with a downhill mountain bike?
If we get the right one in for a video, definitely 🧡⚙️
How much was the total cost for all work done on this bike!
Which hanger tool do you use? and how effective do you find it?
No idea which one it is. A lot of my tools I buy from trade wholesalers and brought a lot of them a long time ago, but it does what it should!
Who's the manufacturer of the super slick cables?
saw a vid telling ultrasonic cleaners dull paints. any thoughts?
It can do but if used cautiously it’s okay🧡
Australia is the same. Left hand is rear brake and right hand is front brake.
Loving the videos, great work as always 👍
Thanks for watching Gregor we appreciate the comment 🧡⚙️

hey mate, since you have greese and dirt and that black stuff on your hand after the bike how do you clean your hands cause i always have trouble getting the black stuff of my hand?
I wash my hands regularly through out the job👍🏼🧡
@@Bikespeeds oh thanks love the videos by the way
👍
Thanks for all the love James 🧡⚙️
That bike is fully ridden
There was absolutely no more miles left in that drivetrain⚙️🧡
