Honestly guys, I had ordered something that didn't arrive on time, and so the video I was supposed to film that Friday was dead in the water! Then I remembered the state of Alex's bike, and we kind of hucked a last second video. THOSE ARE MY FAVORITE KIND!
Yoooo what an awesome birthday surprise, thanks again for the tuneup and parts dude! My bike is feeling FRESH, AND we got a birthday group ride out of it with freakin' BRIAN... doesn't get much better than that 🤘
All that cleaning Seth did, and you just plop it right in your van all muddy! I bet you haven't even cleaned it since this was filmed have you? Be honest!
Yes helping out a friend indeed, but when it comes to asking him for advice as a former subscriber in one of his videos Trek Roscoe he never responded to my comment once had a Gt Aggressor Pro, had to sell it without his help, and am upset about that. Yes I understand that he is busy with everything he has going on.
Love all of Seth's videos, but this one reminded me what drew me to his channel and ultimately MTBing. BKXC/Sampler collabs and tech/maintenance how-tos. Would love to see more! Plus, another trail build series?! Either way, keep up the great work!
DUDE! MAKE THIS A SERIES! Since you're not doing flip bike anymore as that is not as viable as it used to be, this would be a great alternative because the reason why people like flip bike so much was to actually see you building the bikes and learning through it that way, but by doing it this way we'll also learn the same thing and it's a more viable option and you can do bike rehabs for people that are in need sometimes we should be really neat, I don't know it just seems like a great opportunity for a new series!
Extra thumbs up for the best trio out there. It was nice seeing Seth, Brian and Alexander in a video together after quite some while. You three got me into mountainbiking a few years ago, so thanks for still putting in the work!
I have a great trick for stuck on dub cranks. take the right pedal off and thread it all the way in the back of the crank with the pedal inside the rear triangle. Take a really thick or folded up rag to prevent damaging the frame and that will hold the crank in place so you can really wrench down on it. Of course be cautious doing this on carbon, but I have done it a bunch of times on my alloy hardtail with no problems whatsoever.
Seth: "Did we actually do anything to this bike besides clean it and change the tires?" 1.Replaced chainring 2.Pad change 3.Brake bleed 4.Added bash guards 5.Added waterbottle mount/multitool 6.Added 3D printed bash guard (nice!) 6.Added co2 bottles 7.Lubed dropper post Great cleanup, gotta give a thumbs up, almost thought those were new grips you did such a good job.
I run Wolf Tooth's oval 28t chainring; no dead-spots in my cadence and more climbing grip. I'd probably go down to a 26t oval chainring from said company were i actively Bikepacking; bike/racks + stuff + me=almost 300 pounds total. Wolf Tooth is one of the few component companies I'll actually vouch for; legit goods(!).
i used to be in the no pack camp, and i switched to a backpack to give it a shot and the bike handles so much better, way lighter and more maneuverable, less unsprung weight (your muscles suspend it) and its easier to manage the extra weight on a secured pack than past your arms reach when its on the bike.
Seth!!! Thank you for continuing with tech videos. It’s so nice to see fun videos on repairing, refurbishing and upgrading bikes. I like different stuff you do, but I’ll never get tired of these videos.
That was a nice vid, very enjoyable. Always great to see Alex at Berm Peak. And I bet a lot of your long time subscribers busted out a grin when Brian also showed up.
This was such a cool and friendly move, taking care of Alex's bike! And showing us, what friendship does and how a bike works much better again after getting some attention. I recommend to first push out another 1mm those dirty pistons very gently, clean them (with cotton swabs f.e.) and lube them with 1/2 a drop of Brake fluid before pushing them back into the sealing rubber ring. This is much better than pushing them back into the rubber with all the dust from the brake pads and the dirt from the trails 🙂 You spoke about the 600ml bottle that will be necessary but did not mention the 600ml bottle with the FidLock system Alex seems to placed there 🙂
I needed this.... I haven't been on my bike in a long while... I keep saying I am going to and just haven't.. This video makes me wanna clean up my bike and go for a ride... Just need to get back out to get the itch again... Thanks Seth... Now let's see if it works!
That was a fun watch. I especially liked that you used the recent bash-guard callback ! and that you said the dual bottle cage fit was his problem :). Thanks for this video
a piece of advise, always clean the pistons when they are close to max out, before pushing them in the seals full. use WD40 for cleaning and to clear the wd40 use brake disc spray to clean the pistons.
Another Nice video! Yup, learned something and entertained... and a treat to see three of my faves riding together at the end. Really enjoyed your interview on the Adventure Stache, too!
Great video truly entertaining! It's amazing how much laughs and joy you can fit into a 10 minutes bike tuneup. Really good looking shots along the way and a tiny taste of the ride at the end. Perfect
I swapped to a chainring that's two teeth smaller than what the bike came with, and it honestly makes a world of difference. It's actually pretty noticeable on the climbs and fast descents, but you don't really notice in the middle of the gear range that much.
Tip about removing dub cranksets, loosen the preload ring a turn or so, and give the non driveside crank a big whack with a mallet and it comes out super easy. Then youre not working against the preload on the bearings.
Hi! New viewer from the UK here. I actually only found your channel on Friday. I think since then I've watched about 15hrs at least worth of content. Id love to see an Ali Express upgrade ha! Anyway! Love it. I know, being from the UK is different, But kinda the same!
As a bike mechanic, I've seen my share of dried up Stan's while changing out tires. But, instead of calling them Stan's Boogers, I call them STANIMALS. Have collected quite a few interesting ones. Keep up the great work Seth!
Honestly guys, I had ordered something that didn't arrive on time, and so the video I was supposed to film that Friday was dead in the water! Then I remembered the state of Alex's bike, and we kind of hucked a last second video. THOSE ARE MY FAVORITE KIND!
You’re a hero honestly! Been watching since your diamondback hardtail in Florida and I still love every video! X
Still a great video for a “huck”
Still great vid. Shows how good channel is.😁
It's Canadian brand Fezzari?name are Italian
Without this comment none of us would have ever guessed.
Yoooo what an awesome birthday surprise, thanks again for the tuneup and parts dude! My bike is feeling FRESH, AND we got a birthday group ride out of it with freakin' BRIAN... doesn't get much better than that 🤘
The 3 OG’s of the MTB scene 🐐
Grab everyone and hit Kitsuma for a party lap!
All that cleaning Seth did, and you just plop it right in your van all muddy! I bet you haven't even cleaned it since this was filmed have you? Be honest!
Bro clean your own bike...
Warms my bottom bracket to see the three Amigos together again, and they're the ones that got me hooked on RUclips mtb videos years ago.
😂
LMAO
Thought I misread it, have to read it again!
If your bottom bracket's getting warm, that means there's too much friction. Time for an overhaul.
How cool is it to have friend like Seth? It always makes you feel good to help out a friend, or a stranger for that matter.
Yes helping out a friend indeed, but when it comes to asking him for advice as a former subscriber in one of his videos Trek Roscoe he never responded to my comment once had a Gt Aggressor Pro, had to sell it without his help, and am upset about that. Stoked to see Fezzari on your channel. I worked for them for 8 years, and they have come a long way in that time.
Love all of Seth's videos, but this one reminded me what drew me to his channel and ultimately MTBing. BKXC/Sampler collabs and tech/maintenance how-tos. Would love to see more! Plus, another trail build series?! Either way, keep up the great work!
always nice seeing you and alex in a vid!
It is really nice to see you the 3 guys again!
Indeed it is...
Yeah, out of a 10 min video we saw them together for like 2 min, but it is nice indeed

For real. I could watch hours of Seth just fixing bikes.
You are a great friend, Seth. Need more people like you
There something special about seeing good friends get together. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Extra thumbs up for the best trio out there. It was nice seeing Seth, Brian and Alexander in a video together after quite some while.
You three got me into mountainbiking a few years ago, so thanks for still putting in the work!

Yeah! the “3 Amigos” are finally back!!! Can’t wait for the ride videos 🤙🏽😬
At least Alex was honest with I gave an "alignment". 😂
I had such a great time tagging along with you guys! Thanks for showing up on such a cold morning, Seth
Hell yes! I would love to see the trio come shred in Cali!

8. Changed grips
Don't know what you're implying because those look like new grips to me.
Happy to see Wolf Tooth finally make an appearance in a Berm Peak video! I love their stuff. Top quality, and it's all made in the US!
I run Wolf Tooth's oval 28t chainring; no dead-spots in my cadence and more climbing grip. @@bartmullin8018 Been running a Wolf Tooth 32t elliptical for the past several weeks on my Trek Marlin 8. I love it.

Best gift ever! I would also considered replacing the chain since the chainring was so worn.
That was a nice vid, very enjoyable. Always great to see Alex at Berm Peak. And I bet a lot of your long time subscribers busted out a grin when Brian also showed up.
Awesome video! Something almost therapeutic watching you tune up a bike, having the right tools, adding some good info and then hitting the trails.
It is hard to find good mechanics that will pay attention to detail and do quality work .
It looks like you are greatly appreciated ! 👍
A classic vid. Sometimes the formula is so simple.
Thanks Seth, keep up the good work.
Love these kind of videos. Not only did we get to watch great content. Your friend got the Berm Peak tune up!!
would be nice to get a video from alex talking about his bike a little. I have a fezzari abajo peak. the delano is such a great bike.
My father is stoked to see you three together again. He's a fan of you guys.
Those good guys that just enjoy life no matter what. They are easy to help out.
Great job on the bike, but its also good to see all the three of you guys in the end
Seth, you're a true bro, and that's why we love this channel. Your heart is ten times too big.
