Hi Craig, excellent info. Just a quick note to let you know the inline valve and the female adapter link appear to take you to the prior part listed. Great work
I can't tell you how useful this has been! I've got an old van and want to add a water pump and a single tap (at the moment its a manual hand pump tap and a mains tap that just blasts water out) and have been trying to work how to to incorporate mains water. I was hoping it was something simple like this. Thank you!
It is pretty straightforward and easy DIY if you use the John Guest push fittings. Check our other videos, we did one on how to use John Guest fittings if you’re looking for a guide and we also posted a link in the comments of that video to an online store in Australia that has a wide range of fittings. If you follow us on Facebook, then feel free to message us there if you’ve got any questions 👍
Very clear and helpful! I just checked the instructions for the water pump, and I think there is already a build in check valve inside the pump. Do we still need to install the one way valve? Thank you
In theory, the check valve in the pump will do the job but it’s not very expensive to put one inline and it takes the pressure load off the pump as well as giving you an additional fail safe.
Hi Craig, have you though of adding an inline tap to the pump outlet line.? You can semi close to help with water consumption without effecting pressure.
You could certainly do that but if you want to restrict flow, I find it better to do it at the other end (ie closer to the outlet that you want to restrict) A really simple way to do it is to insert a smaller diameter hose or restrictor into the water pipe. This is how the toilet flush flow is restricted on Thetford Toilets. Have a look at our video on that, it might give you ideas if you are wanting to restrict flow at other outlets without affecting all outlets 👍 ruclips.net/video/SmrQ5CAbMu8/видео.htmlsi=QpL9gEU8pDmUGiFN
@@PatrickCARUANA-q8g you would need to change the drain plumbing on the internal shower and both sinks as they are connected to the grey water tank. You already have 200 litres of fresh water capacity and if you have a look at our “water management” video, I show you how we carry an additional 110 litres and refill our water tanks when we are off-grid
