Thanks for this great video! Just wondering how the hot water system integrates into this process? Anything special I need to do to drain/flush it? Thanks
Glad it helped! If you run you water pump with the hot water tap turned on (hot water unit off) then this will run the solution into the hotwater tank (if you have a tank hotwater system) and hot water lines. If you do have a tank hot water system, you should also regularly change the anode as well. Hope that helps :)
Orrrrr, you could just get a cup of white king add it to a watering can of water, pour it into your tank. Half fill your tanks, leave it overnight, drain and rinse the tank with fresh water. Viola! Clean tank
algae can't grow without light, hence the black tanks. it also requires air/oxygen. The biggest problem is with questionable water supply. Try and use known potable water supply. I always clean tanks before storage, then fill them to the brim= no air. Next trip I drain and refill with fresh water
Agree, however if you get algae in the tank from the supply source the tanks need to be treated to remove it. Unfortunately not all water supply is equal and algae free.
How much white vinegar do you use for each tank. I am a bit hesitant using Chemicals in a water tank that you have to be careful of using 😅 especially if you end up drinking it.
I would suggest you also throw a filter maybe an old sock over the outlets this ensure mud wasps don’t nest in your outlet pipe. 😊
Thanks for the tip!
Good Information handy to know
We are new to caravanning. Great tips. Thank you
Glad it helped! Welcome to an awesome lifestyle 👍🏻
Good idea to take it for a run and get that mechanical action of water movement. 👍
Yeh definitely helps to clean the tanks! Thanks for watching
Guess best done before winterizing and leave open, or clean and rinse before the season or continual use?

Is this ok to put through your water heater system?
Yeh sure is. Just make sure you flush the system.

where did you get the water tap fitting that screw into the jayco filling port. thanks in advance
It’s just a standard screw on tap fitting. There is normally 2 sizes of thread, it’s the larger one. Hope that helps
If you can’t buy this product , white vinegar dose the same thing , just flush well
Haven’t used that before but will give it a go
@@GetCampingOz vinegar is a acid so let it soak and flush out a few times
