- Charmed - 4x14 "The Three Faces Of Phoebe"
Phoebe has a strange sensation about Cole, and she casts a spell to know whether she should marry him or not, bringing unexpectedly an innocent Phoebe from her childhood and a bitter Phoebe from the future to help in her decision. Meanwhile, The Source is getting stronger and possessing Cole, who seems to be unable to resist much longer.

Cole story is the most tragic out of all of them

even when possesed the guy always was looking out for them and look how they treated the poor guy
*Cole* was looking out for them, the source wasn't. They're two distinct beings. Cole was subjugated by the source for most of the time unless phoebe really needed him, but ultimately vanquishing him was a necessary evil and one that phoebe clearly regretted
I will always love cole and no one can change that 😭
@@isaiahcaston4539 yes, vanquishing cole when he was the source was necessary. But Phoebe's behaviour towards Cole after he came back to life, fully his own, made no sense.
Phoebe didn't vanquish Cole because she thought the Source in him had to be destroyed. She never realized the duality inside Cole. Phoebe always thought it was his doing, that is why she hated him after he came back. But Cole only became the source to save Phoebe's life.
Cole was always treated badly by the other sisters even though he tried his very best, and sooner or later even Phoebe started treating him like shit. Nobody put as much on the line as Cole to save Phoebe and in continuation the other sisters. Still they always were weary of him.
@@XpVersusVista Cole was a demon that tried to kill the sisters many times, it was normal for the sisters to resent him but even like that they all ended up accepting him even with his demonic side and evil power...and for Cole and phoebe, Cole was not the only one who tried his very best, phoebe did too to the point of even becoming the queen of evils and it still did not work, if i was phoebe i would be fed up too... i still wonder to today why Cole did not tell phoebe he was the source, the sisters could have found a way to get rid of the source, i love Cole's character too but he fucked it up for himself when he kept it
@@db917 your soo stupid, why don't you watch the show again and don't be a hypocrite. If he never fell in love with phoebe, the sisters would have been dead long time ago , when He was baltazer. He saved their asses many times. If he did not take the hollow , the source would have killed them. Only because of his intervention , they survived

I really liked Cole and it made upset that none of the sister made note that Cole and the Source were two different beings and that Cole was being suppressed. I also wish the sisters or Leo brought up the fact that as Cole killed the source and that's why he became the source he was tricked by the seer. :/ Was it necessary to kill Cole? Probably in the end but....I wish they acknowledged these things.
Okay what are they, all knowing Jehovahs? No! Theyre humans. FLAWED humans. It shouldve been apparent for a long time that they, or the writers at least, make them inconsiderate, no matter how little or greatly reasonable it is, understanably or not

I mean... Cole literally became the source because he saved the sisters and he also wanted to ive up powers but Phoebe stopped him. I hate how sisters were antagonizing him.
No, they were not two separate beigns, Cole's human side was still strong and he could have confessed to Phoebe when she sensed something's wrong but he chose not to. This all is a metaphor of passionate but ultimately toxic love when one person just can't change and it's not meant to be. Stop whining and THINK.

that ending seemed so rushed, coop didn't fit to phoebe at all. only one who did except for cole was drake. even though cole became real asshole after certain time, i really wished they had found a way to be together.
Vojtěch Mikloš the thing is I’m pretty sure the whole “find love” storyline was actually originally Prues not Phoebes. If you notice, during the first three seasons Prue is the one unsure of love and shown ignoring that part of herself for the good of her sisters/the world, not Phoebe. Hell, we even saw this in Morality Bites when it’s revealed that ten years later, Prue is still alone cause she focused on her career and dint have time for a family.
The hopeless romantic aspect to Phoebe didn’t become a thing until after the show ended up being retooled with Prues death. Piper became the superwitch, Paige became the magical explorer, and Phoebe was the one who put duty over her personal life. Had the show continued with Prue, I think she would have been the one to end up with a Cupid and Cole and Phoebe would have been the ones who ended up together.

I lot of people have so much faith in Cole and want Phoebe to take him back. When you date a Cole like I have you understand why she was cold to him and didn't forgive him. Cole had to many chances. When you keep trying to help change people it gets tiring and at one point you have to give up and let go. You can't change people have to want to change. He could have told the sister's many times what was going on but he didn't. He could have done right and make amends when he got out of the waste lands but no instead he became evil again and went after Phoebe and the sisters. He just wouldn't leave her alone after she told him many times that she didn't want nothing to do with him. The only thing that stopped him was for the sister to vanquish him. I'm so glad the writers made it this way to let people know that they can escape from toxic relationships. I'm glad that she ended up with Coop because he was the better man.
Phoebe belonged with Cole
This episode right here was Cole's chance to stop the Source, he had control over what he was doing at the end of the last one and until about the mid way point in this one. He had a chance to tell Phoebe and he didn't.

@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Well he was possessed, but he also had two key points where he had enough control over the source to do something about the situation. The point I mentioned, and the one when he had enough control to actually try to get rid of the source's powers with the Wizard.
I loved Cole as a character, but that doesn't make me biased to him. I do prefer that they didn't make him evil again, but at the same time it doesn't come out of nowhere either.

The saddest part of this is that in the comics, Cole is destroyed entirely saving Phoebe’s life. He jumps in the way of an attack aimed at her and it destroys him…just like the premonition Phoebe has in Charmed and Dangerous. He never stopped loving her…Phoebe and Cole were soulmates and should have been endgame.

You're thinking about it incorrectly.
This isn't just mainly coles personality and the source is corrupting him a little, this is the source's "personality" and Cole is corrupting *it* since he loves phoebe, and by extension cares about her sisters since *it*/he wants phoebe to be happy.
Maybe it's like 80% source 20% Cole, anyway Cole can't really fight it, and he only has the willingness to fight it when phoebe isn't with him since that's the one emotion the source can't completely snuff out.
I'd assume the source takes on some personality traits of the person it possesses, but it's not really that person. Kind of like a vampire from the Buffyverse.
@@SeraphSeph He couldnt sleep and he was unhappy because he didnt know he would become thd source if he helps killing him. So he was 100 percent fighting it. There is no logical explanation for not telling the sisters. It wasnt his fault;he did it for them.

No, I dont believe so. I am guessing this older Phoebe (never married) because when Phoebe found out that Cole was the Source she never married anyone. After Cole left completely out of Phoebe's life, he would came back here and there after he left during that time helped Phoebe find love again she married Coop.
Remember the part with Billy Zane charater helping her get over Cole and a few others a long the way. Cole even visited Piper to help her love again with Leo to show Phoebe love is possible. That is when she eventually fell for Coop and it had to be with someone with the letter C as per her past, stating her true love.
i hope if they ever deciedded to reboot the show they will make them end game cole and phoebe was perfect otp , that was my only problem with this show
I think that's just another timeline where Phoebe never loved anyone like Cool and eventually not even had chance to meet Coop cause of her actions. Remember that he was send by Elders so she could fell for him? so she had to deserve it. And maybe in that timeline she didn't. That's my theory.
Craving Darkness Phoebe fell out of love with Cole. When he makes an appearance in the comics (where she’s married with children) she immediately despised him. The only fondness she felt was when he sacrificed himself to save her and was destroyed as a result. Phoebe loved Cole until she realized that he was evil and would turn her evil too. Their love was never meant to be she said it herself.
Cole still phoebe's true love. Even she said feel nothing when he was gone. But actually she just need him to move on

It's so sad that the sisters don't undertand Cole was under control the Source and he was tricked by the Seer. I mean the fact that Leo was similar evil when Barbas took control of him and morever he was more furious by Gildeon's plan killing Wyatt. Leo killed the Olders, tortured them, but it's "alright"... It's not fair.
Yeah it's that thing with wine and water you know what i'm talking about.... very sad.....
Cole wasn't betrayed by his mentor. He became under the influence of pure evil and he did nothing to even try to stop it. Even after he was vanquished and came back. Leo was more confused and bent on making the demon he thought responsible pay for killing his son. It doesn't mean that everything Leo did was right, because he did get out of control, but at heart Leo was good but he was lost. Cole was evil at heart in the end and his nature kept getting the best of him.
She is different timeline Pheobe but I still think this is a sign they should have been endgame. Julian left for another tv show with him as a lead so that is understandable but they didn't have to let him go. It wasn't so hard to make him good but not that present. Once in a couple of episodes to make an appearance, make smth up like they did with Leo in the last season because of the money problems and voila, we see them married and good with no drama, just their passion. Wouldn't be cool to see their kids, let's say half demon, half witch, competing with half white-lighter half witches like Chris and Wyatt. Having their kid super strong and the opposite for Wyatt. 2 cousins that will be the strongest creatures in the universe. Have Paige a daughter as strong as them for some reason, then make them the new charmed ones. Smth like that. I should write fanfictions....but it was possible.

The way you write some opinions says it all.....
IKR, all children from the charmed line will be strong but the first born from each sister is usually the strongest. Take Wyatt or take Phoebe first child before the seer corrupted him. His power was so great even the seer with the source power could not contain his power. It would have been the same for Paige but she chose to marry a human so the child will be powerful but not as powerful as she or he could have been had she not turned the offer from half-light witch.

fahima matin I agree. Same thing. I understand the struggles once or twice. But they really messed up in season 5 (or was it six).
thats understandable, i didnt like how his character was portrayed in season 5. he was always looked as evil, never given the proper chance to redeem himself. pheobe especially was very mean to him, even when he genuinely wanted to help them or needed help himself. she drove him to madness.
Yeah, I didnt like what they were doing to him. Firstly he was an useless man and love sick and the girls did everything after he lost his powers. It was better if they just used him as a guest star instead of getting rid of him all together. I have a soft spot for Julian as he is an Australian like me and his acting has improved so much since he left Australia.

I was 12-13 watching the show (obsessively) and I didn’t understand why sisters hated him when he only became the source to save phoebe, without any intention. I couldn’t understand how phoebe got over him in no time and started to date as if nothing happened and he didn’t exist at all. It wasn’t logical to me back then. I now see they did him so dirty because they were just uncapable or any emphaty. They were just selfish bitches😂 and this is the biggest unjustice for a character in tv history for me😢 writers just threw the 3 seasons character development and the biggest love story into garbage… this is nothing but bad writing. They could have found way better storyline for him. I also remember being so excited when I found out he was gonna be back for the 150th episode, only to be shock how piper was so toughtless again, not telling anyone she was only alive thanks to cole. They could have a better storyline for that episode as well. Just disaapointing, I just can’t get over it😢😢

After Cole character was killed show got downhill hard. Second half of season 5 was bad, season 6 was bad, season 7 was a little better than 6, but season 8 was just pure garbage
