I have to say, I agree with these comments. I've been a single Mom and now a single homeowner trying to do projects ( I cant afford to pay someone, so I do what I can with these DIY projects) I loved seeing you with your girls. My Dad always helped me with projects and he would always tell everyone how I did things myself, he was so proud of me and not being affraid of tackling a project. He passed in 2021 and I miss him soooo much. This light project will be my first project without him amd my Mom. They were always here to help me 😢 Keep up with those girls helping, they'll cherish the memories and the lessons
Thank you so much. I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad last year. I understand how difficult it is to work on projects alone when you’ve always done them with your Dad.

I love that you are teaching your daughter how to wrangle heavy objects, operate machinery, and work on a team. Do help her to be mindful of how she positions her body before she moves anything. Her muscle power is in her legs, not her arms, so its important for her to center her weight over her feet. I got through 20 years as a female steelworker with hardly a scratch. How attentive she can be to her positioning and movement will help keep her safe from injury.
Just want to thank you for this video. You helped me earn my “man card” at home by putting together a classy, easy to adjust lighting project that really made my yard!!!

I just built some of these last week. Used a 1/2"x10" lag bolt to hole the post into the wine barrel. Used a big fender washer as a strong back. Then did a 12" sono tube cut to 10" tall as the primary weight. Looked at brackets that you used, but seems expensive and time consuming. Didn't test it, but pretty sure the cement didn't cure to the wine barrel, so it should all be removable. Filled the rest with dirt. I have a 10'x15' shade canopy spread between my 4 with lights and no issues with them being tippy, even in 20mph winds. I like your tension cord, may implement that. Nice looking set up all around.
I absolutely LOVE how you have your young daughter assist you. As a mama of four (now grown) girls it was imperative that we taught them how to do everything themselves and assist us properly. Well done- and yes, very funny!! Thank you!! May actually try to do this all by myself ( no longer have the other half to assist....) Cheers and keep doing these videos!

Ur planters are the very best and Lowe’s should carry and sell YOUR DESIGN QUALITY POST PLANTERS instead of their made in - - - - - crap options! Thank u for making simple outta enlightening design while being cost effective! Best video we had seen for making these planter / light barrels for yard or driveway / walkway - improvements ever! Again THANK U MUCH
Growing up I was always helping my Grandad in the garden with his DIYs and snooping around his shed - he was definitely the local hand man! I was always amazed at how he found ways to do something, even if he didn't have the tools to do it or had never done it before. Sadly he passed away quite a few years ago, and now I have my own house and garden that I'm renovating I can't ask him for help or advice. I didn't realise when I started watching your videos quite how much I missed those times - your happy go-lucky attitude reminds me so much of him! I see you with your daughters and it brings so much warmth to my heart! I've also learnt a lot as well which I really appreciate, so thank you :) Laura (from a very rainy England!)
The first thing I noticed about your video was how you treated your daughters. Priceless. I stayed for the humor. I love the project. And the ultimate compliment I can give someone: I wish you were my neighbor.
Excellent video!! You explain the steps in terms we all can understand, not just a professional....I live that since I'm a women who does projects alone, lol!! This will be my spring project, I will start planning now, thank you!
You, sir, are the most relatable, genuine, DIYer I've come across in some time. Oh, and this is the exact video I've been looking for to put up lights around my fire pit area, as well! Subscribed!
I'm saying this because I think I'm older than you. You like to make projects more difficult and have a right now mentality like me. I have been doing a lot of landscaping these last few weeks and was wondering what I could do with my fire pit and all 52 boxes of lights. You have some really great ideas. Thanks for the video and the humor.
I love this video with you and your beautiful daughters working together ❤️ I was in tears about the flimsy sawhorses that I would need😂😂😂 you’re very funny 😂 you now have a new subscriber 💯
Awesome video and amazing quality. I have to tell ya, you got me with your interactions with your daughters. Give yourself a huge pat on the back for being an awesome dad in teaching them not only the technical skills they're learning, but more importantly, teaching them to build confidence in themselves, their abilities, instilling in them to take on doing things that they may not know how to do every part right now but heck - they trust that they'll learn even more from you down the road - also, not to mention the quality time spent together, taking pride in designing and making something by yourself through watching YOU work, and so, so, so much more. I had a little challenging time convincing MY dad that I truly wanted him to show me some of the woodworking stuff he knew because dad was always thinking it "should have been" my younger brother that would be interested surely because "he was a boy, and boys like to do this kind of stuff." ??? This was even after I showed special interest in my Industrial Arts classes in high school, was always making various kinds of stuff growing up - I just had that creative bug and loved working with my hands - as well as after graduating from high school I continued on in taking adult education courses at night in a couple different woodworking classes. Eventually he realized my interest was real and perhaps it had more to do with letting go of the idea that he thought it could have been a "bonding experience" for he and my brother, I'm only guessing at that, but he told me that he felt bad that he didn't spend more time with ME since I was the one that showed the interest and desire. It's gotta be hard being a parent (or anyone that works with kids and young adults) to let go of the preconceived societal gender related "appropriate" interests of how things are "supposed to go", and instead just pay attention to what each child, boy or girl, is naturally drawn to. But somehow it's gotta start shifting towards that because I'm sure the long term impact will be a LOT more happier kids, young adults, and older adults further on down in their lives, thus influencing generations. Sorry about the length of this response, I sure wasn't intending on it, but your video had so many great things going on about it that went way beyond the "ambiance" from the beautiful outdoor fire pit/seating area that you created. Subscribed. Looking forward to more videos and seeing your girls grow up as strong, confident, and capable women!
Quick tip: When applying the black cord wrapping start at one end of the cord and get the wrap started. Then you can press it on and push it down the cord at the same time! You will save a lot of time time hassle! Project looks great and I will be probably doing the same thing for my yard this year.
What an INCREDIBLE video man this was both entertaining and extremely helpful. I love that you taught your daughters how to run the tractor too that’s something they will always remember.
I put the posts inside buckets and then added the concrete, then placed them inside the planters. I can always use the planters for something else later if i decide. And I can bury the buckets in the ground if i wanted to.
We’re getting our first tractor and it was great to see your daughter driving it. To this point I hadn’t seen a girl that young drive one. Now I know she’ll be my big helper!

It’s so remarkable where the internet leads me and I just happily slide right on down the rabbit hole because it’s interesting.
INSTEAD OF DEALING with electrical cord color issues, seeing is believing, jus paint em as u did the posts u painted adding zero costs and zero shopping time for certain cord color- works easy! Again THANK U MUCH
How do you only have 8k subscribers?! Great content man!
Thank you so much!
I agree. It's clear that you put a lot of effort and time into these videos. Great job and always fun to watch.
Yeahhhh.... I'm glad the algorithm brought you into my life. Should put that on a valentine's day card...

he's upto 26.8k since your comment 6 days ago. thats impressive!
Thank you so much Laura for sharing that. I’m sorry for your loss. Thank you for the kind words. 🙏
This might be the first time I ever heard a reference to something from Jack Daniels being used to keep anything from being "tipsy". HAHA
The first thing I noticed about your video was how you treated your daughters. Priceless. I stayed for the humor. I love the project. And the ultimate compliment I can give someone: I wish you were my neighbor.
Thank you so much!
Your daughters drove the tractor, so i hit like. You couldn't cut the cable, so i subscribed.
Subscribed!
Thanks so much!
Love how you are teaching your daughter to work. You got a like from me just for that.
You are totally my favorite funny builder man. Love how your babies can ride a tractor. God bless you.
I have just stumbled across the greatest dad channel lmfao
I loved this. How wholesome to have your girls helping.
I love this video with you and your beautiful daughters working together ❤️ I was in tears about the flimsy sawhorses that I would need😂😂😂 you’re very funny 😂 you now have a new subscriber 💯
I just found you on here and I love watching you! You're real and you're funny and I love how you involve your girls! A great dad!
Thank you!
This turned out GREAT! The planters are beautiful. Awesome job.
Awww, that's cool you're teaching your daughter work ethics. She is gonna be a jack of all trades.🙂
Production value is off the charts bro. This is awesome. You found another Subscriber
Much appreciated!
What an amazing teacher you are to your daughters. Thanks for the video, made my day. ❤
Thank you so much!
We need to make this man go viral!!!👏👏
Also finally found a video I trust enough to follow for when I start this project on our patio. Thank you!!!!
Quick tip: When applying the black cord wrapping start at one end of the cord and get the wrap started. Then you can press it on and push it down the cord at the same time! You will save a lot of time time hassle! Project looks great and I will be probably doing the same thing for my yard this year.
Love watching the girls! Best dad ever!❤❤
I work for Simpson StrongTie. Love how you used the post brackets. Great project!
What an INCREDIBLE video man this was both entertaining and extremely helpful. I love that you taught your daughters how to run the tractor too that’s something they will always remember.
"Now I don't know about you, but these are just absolutely lovely."
I put the posts inside buckets and then added the concrete, then placed them inside the planters. I can always use the planters for something else later if i decide. And I can bury the buckets in the ground if i wanted to.
Ohhh buddy. With this quality of content this channel is gonna blow up. Fan freaking tastic.
Thank you so much! I hope you're right 😁
Right?!

We’re getting our first tractor and it was great to see your daughter driving it. To this point I hadn’t seen a girl that young drive one. Now I know she’ll be my big helper!
It happens, but many of wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't in the video. Pathfinding and inspiring us.
