I think it looks fine, but taking out the 2.0T is a big mistake and is stopping me from considering one for my next car.
I agree. Not everyone wants a hybrid. Not everyone can afford to get a hybrid.
The ‘23 Accord looks nice; but that ‘84 in the cut in was awesome.
Much cooler cars back in the day.
I graduated high school in 1984, a close buddy of mine borrowed his sister's, then new, 1984 Accord sedan. It was a manual! Silver with a cranberry interior(that was a very popular color combo for many cars back then). It felt quick, and sipped gas no matter how hard you drove it. It really put Honda in a place(here in the U.S.) where it's never left...
I lusted after that '84 in high school. Years later, I bought my first Accord -- a 1986 4 door with 5 speed manual. Might be my favorite car ever.
I agree👏👏👏👏
I miss normally aspirated V6 engines that go hundreds of thousands of miles.
Nothing left for us enthusiasts by taking the 2.0T away.
After owning every Accord generation & still have own 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th 9th & 10th I will definitely be skipping this one. I'm sorry Honda not sure who your designer is or who thought it was ok to totally destroy this vehicle but this car looks BAAADDDD!!! I think it's time to check out the new Toyota Camry......
Eliminating the 2.0T was a big mistake for the Honda Accord.
The 2.0T 10th Gen was their best accord. Now we've got a compliance car. Motorweek was being as gentle as they could be about this gens disappointment.
No this is the best you loof, it is the newest
I agree. I never had any interest in an accord, ever. The 9th gen caught my attention, but not enough to purchase. But that 10th gen sport......hooooooooweee!!! I had to have it buddy!!! 😆😆😆😆
@@mauriciowinston5293 lol
TOYOTA: Thank you Honda San, our Camry sales will be just fine.
Especially if they offer the 2.4t or the hybrid max power train. We need powerful options.
Get the V6 while you can.
umm and sales will be just fine with this you loof
@@Butchcub75 Yea, it's the only way to get steering assist I guess, necessary evil for the drivers that need them. Long term reliability...my money is the car without a turbo. F-Honda, they need to go back to VTEC.
Just bought a 22 black touring accord….my 5th! Accord. I was never so critical on each new model until this one. Only thing I’d say is good is about time they put a Bose sound system in it.
They messed up the accord with power train
No they didn't you loof
Yep
Seems like sabatoge. A 1.5 goes in a 1996 civic.
@@kensmechanicalaffair I agree
It looks like I'll be keeping my '15 Accord J35Y1 V6 Sedan for a lot longer than I thought. I'll be skipping this generation as well.
There hasn't been anything that's needed to be repaired in the last 8 years anyway, so there's no need to replace it.
If you've noticed the prices of that model skyrocketed after covid, and for good reason.
Not a fan of turbo but I do like the way it looks. Looks like a squared off Ford Taurus in the front and a Volkswagen in the back. But I prefer more plain and simple cars that may be why I like it
Fair point
The outgoing 2.0T was just too good. It was robbing sales from their other models.
If true, honda is pulling a major GM move
"The boring models we want to sell are being canibalized by this more popular model!"
"Make the other car more boring then so the rest of the lineup can compete"
They're gonna be with oldsmobile and pontiac if this keeps up long enough.
@@BigWheel. They may be worse than Pontiac
@@BigWheel. yep. Trying to push those of us who have 2.0T Tourings into a TLX. Not the wisest choice... Back seat is too small, infotainment sucks, and its 10k more for a comparably equipped model.
Agreed
If you still want it, then get the HRV, they actually have that engine on the brand new redesign
Yo...where's my dude John Davis? The Accord looks stunning.
Sleek in a plain sorta way. Not ugly. Definitely not ground breaking. Like many probably think...looks like a Taurus. The best part of the car is the interior. Side note, I think the 2013 model year was one of the nicer styled Accords.
Yep, IMHO, the best looking Accord of all time the 2013-2017 year model followed by the 1990-1993 year model and then 1986-1989 year models
100%
@@richard112360 1990-1993 is 👌(I have a 1992 H22 swap manual wagon)
This one is the best, it is the newest and it does NOT look like a Taurus at all
@@allentoyokawa9068 How could you say this is better then the previous generation. Honda is making you spend more to get the higher trims to get what was standard equipment. Rear vents is LX and up
Still undecided about the new model. I've owned 3 Accords - a '97, a 2009 EXL-V6, and now a 2014 EXL-V6. I love the way the 3.5l V6 revs and makes it feel like a sports sedan. The 2.0T with the ten speed was an okay alternative, but I'm not feeling the 1.5l hybrid setup.
Since I also own a nifty 2018 Clarity Touring PHEV, I'm not opposed to hybrids in principal. But I would like to have a more sporting alternative when I decide to replace my 2014 model.
WOW! I recently picked up my 2023 Honda CRV Sport and the dealer had a new 2023 in the showroom. I asked my sales person is that the new Accord? He said yes with a big smile and what do I think? I said it looks like an 80's Buick.
Hahahaha
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
The Accord had some swagg.... now it looks rental car.
It's ALWAYS looked like a rental car.
No it doesn't you u loof
Great car but with the civic being as big now they really had to keep the 2.0t to justify the purchase of one of these imo sad to see woulda been great to see a the 2.0t with awd
Probrably took away from Acura TLX sales
They absolutely gutted the Accord of what little soul it still had.
It hasn't had soul since 2007
@@Krzrrazrrokr My 2012 MT is solid, has some soul...but not like the earlier ones for sure.
My 2022 Sport is beautiful...this car looks like Tupperware
For the non-hybrid Accord, I agree with you on.
As for the Hybrid version, I think there's still some hope for the Accord.
I feel like it's a little less attractive with each of the last few generations. But with very few sedans left on the road they are trying to appeal to everyone which ends up creating a bland car
This guy is absolutely falling asleep reviewing this car.
No he is not, this car is awesome you loof
So am I. Watch a review of any recent Honda/Acura car if you ever have trouble sleeping. 💤 😴
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video unfortunately I'm looking forward to seeing the honda prologue on this channel soon
MotorWeek, why don’t you show us more of the interior like the seats and the trunk?
Honda just plays it too safe with there designs. The previous generation Accord and Civic where just so much better looking. I’ll stick with Toyota.
I initially wanted the '22 Accord. But I test drove the '23 Accord Hybrid Touring model last week and was impressed. No road noise, super spacious, comfortable, and the cabin looked beautiful. It was so much fun to drive and I know this is the car I want in the future.
I have the touring and it is a nice car. It’s quite and comfortable.
Looks like any other rental out there.
I see a sublime cover in the infotainment screen……nice! Sublime is my band growing up in the OC in the 90s….
Wow, to go from the last model to this is just tragic. Exterior, interior and power, all reduced to a joke. I bought an Acura TLX right before this Accord model was released. So glad I did.
Guess i gotta keep my 18 6mt forever now… 😢
That little jazz tune during the intro sounds real nice 👍🏽
Yes a nice break from all that frantic music so common on videos these days. Cruising Together · Maxime Pinto
I quite liked it too.
Yeah i liked it also. Interestingly, the keyboards sound like they could be from 1984 … or 1974 for that matter . Love the warm analog sound
@@sneakerfreak2002 Sounds like DX7, which is not analog.
Looks like a mix between the 4th and 6th generation styles but bigger.
This car is way too big and too bland now. Isn't that the reason why that 9th generation was smaller on the outside than the 8th generation because people complained how big the Accord was to fit in their garage. Now the new Accord is scaled on a large sedan size.
Just saw one of these for the first time in a neighbor’s driveway. I saw the back end of it and didn’t know what it was, thought it was some new Volvo at first.
It’s ok, kind of middle of the road in style. Why did they take a subtle approach when Camry is definitely going to be a stylish choice is beyond me.
Killed it Bought one and 2000 brand new EX5 speed felt alive this one they gone backwards
I’ll keep my 2021 touring 2.0. I don’t like the style of the new model and the horsepower downgrade.
*Honda Accord and other models lost their souls around the early 2000s.*
I think the best Accord models were Gen 3-5.
boooooo. great review my brother but I'm still in love with my 2018 accord with the 2.0 turbo 6 SPEED MANUAL. if i could have one thing from the 2023 version into my 2018 will be the full screen cluster display, other than that there’s nothing else i would change about my car
Can't wait for a type r that would b awesome. Or type s
Would love a hybrid EXL one day
Okkaayy, retro vintage theme. That's hip.
I will give it for the exterior it does look very good interior not so much if inflation wasn't so high this would be around $27,000
A thing of beauty. I, for one, am glad that Honda has not completely jumped onto the band wagon of current popular design trends that make cars look like the front-end of a great white attached to a fried egg.
A well-done, short yet concise review. Seems like Honda had to join the bandwagon of the move closer to electric.
Honestly think the Civic seems to be a better buy at this point.
With the SUV boom and no four wheel drive option the Accord at its price has become an impractical sell.
Current gen looks much better
Taillights looks better on this .. but I get it because me too I find this ugly
While the new-gen Accord looks way too similar to its predecessor, it looks nice anyway. An Accord Type R should be considered, but it may unlikely be happening as of now.
They wouldn't do that because they don't want to take sales away from the TXL
Very sharp looking refresh.
No 2.0 Turbo, no deal from me
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL MONDAY EVERYONE ✌️
It honestly looks like the final generation Chevy Impala with a Ford grille. I still like it however.
@ 1:54 how did they manage to make it look so much like a Chevy Malibu..? Especially with those rims that are very similar to rims that higher trim level Malibu's come with... 👀😳
Looks like a taurus
umm no it doesn't
MY QUESTION IS …?????
WHO APPROVED OF THIS DESIGN !?
😪😔😡
Won’t the pricing of the top of the line Accord be encroaching on the Acura TLX? Might as well get a TLX then.
I think that’s their logic behind killing the 2.0T. I think it’s a mistake.
@Gary You get the "luxury" features of Acura vs Honda is the difference. Why pay more for Honda if you will be getting less than their luxury division Acura for the same price?
TLX doesn't compete in this segment. The back seat is way smaller on the TLX, not something to even consider regularly using, while the accord has monstrous leg and headroom.
Good choice of where to have Google take you. Amusingly, my Google has the command & tried to get me directions
Accords are fullsize sedans getting great has milage
*midsize
Nice Ford Taurus/VW there buddy. I've owned 2 Accords in my time and I can safely say this takes the cake for the ugliest Accords in my time of driving since the mid 90s. The mid 2000s were pretty bad but yeesh, this is just another level. I think Honda is actively trying to kill off their cars lineup with the Civic and Accord both being so dull and ugly. Hard pass on this model year.
Should never have killed the v6 coupe
Should have never killed the V6 at all
I miss my best friend's 09' v6 accord. Sweet ride for the time even now.
Camry > Accord
To me it looks the Accord is copying the Camry, but less powerful.
The all new Honda Taurus 😂
I mainly clicked this linked to see why over 38K people are viewing this.
I’m mixed with the outside styling…I’ve been a Honda fan..but something is missing..😒
As a Honda enthusiast..it looks very clean..but conservative imo..Honda always stood out from the Camry…but not this year
Nothing is missing
@@allentoyokawa9068 your opinion sir
Hi motorweek
Not impressed with the direction Honda has taken to the interior! I loved everything about my 2017 CRV! When I looked at the interior of the 2023 CRV I knew I was going to buy some thing else. Honda is always going to be a front runner for almost everything. I feel this year Toyota beat them to the win! Although I dislike the interior of the Prius also...no denying Toyota is killing it with the Prius.
The problems I find with the 2023 Honda Accord: 1. No All Wheel Drive is available 2. No heated steering Wheel is available 3. No spare tire is available 4. No XM Radio. If a 2023or 2024 car missing all of these features is fine for you, then get one.
Damn, the front end looks like the new mustang, not sure if that’s good or bad?
This gen doesn't even hold a candle to the 2013-2017 generation.
Off the subject comments the Hostin narrators all sound like they're from Rhode island. That's a very specific accident that each one of you carry. Not John so much.
It's like the JFK accent I think.
Great
I saw one on the road and it looked horribly plain.
Great car. Great job by the host.
Honda what happened to you?! I used to always buy your cars, now I would only consider the 2.0 which you've taken away. And let me guess all cvt right? Is manual even an an option?! Sorry you lost me.
I’ve always believed the outgoing generation’s interior and exterior were abysmal but Honda has certainly knocked that incoming gen out of the park with all its aesthetics. The only reason I wouldn’t personally purchase one would be because of the seemingly underwhelming powertrains, but otherwise, it looks to be a great and much needed product offering in their evolving lineup - mature and *so* much better looking than it’s predecessor. I’m personally hoping a more powerful variant is offered in the near future.
Much better looking? Do you have eyes?
@@bsfunk44 - Not everyone wants a car that looks like a little child's "Transformer" toy.
EYE see that a few of you have absolutely no idea what subjectivity in opinion is … but then again, that’ll never be my business or concern, since I couldn’t ever care any less.
@@bsfunk44 it is much better looking, get over it
Almost ran something over at 3:35
It's a perfectly cromulent touring sedan.
For who!? Middle aged white women, lol. Yes, it's compliant, and decently designed.
Unfortunately 30k is to much for family sedan and 40k is too much for a hybrid
10th Gen is the best Honda Accord.
Please, don't say, "Hey Google". It disrupts my viewing, on my phone. Lol.
No more Civic R motor. NOOOOOOoooo!
The 9th generation was the last pretty Accord (my opinion) the 10th was an Accord front end and Subaru Legacy rear end. The new one is just ok 😒 let Audi have the fast back design (they do it better) .
You're funny. My pioneer stereo in my grand marquis does the exact android auto stuff that this car does. My car also has a proven reliable powertrain and design, and I won't be blowing up turbos as I don't have one. My car doesn't have the oil dilution problem the 1.5l turbos have, and my car has much better performance numbers and is easy and cheaper to maintain and fix. So you tell Me, is it better to buy a 30k plus vehicle with a less power drivetrain and much more expensive components to make more power to save fuel OR buying and repairing a reliable tank and paying for more fuel that doesn't come anywhere near the base price tag for a new car going to depreciate like a rock?
This car is FAR more reliable then any Ford products
@Allen Toyokawa today's Ford's yes. Ecoboosts, no thank you, but there are definitely better fords out there. 2011 is the last year I'd consider as the ranger and crown vic were discontinued after. My question for you is, what's the highest mileage recorded on a honda with its original 1.5l t and its original transmission? Crown vics and its sisters easily surpass 300k with original drivetrain with proper maintenance and reasonable driving. I've seen many hit 500k. Highest personality heard of if 542k on a fb group dedicated to these cars. Have a 1.5l t get there and I'll call it worth it. Keep in mind that these Hondas are still depreciating. And haven't hit their lowest yet
The Marquis will forever be remembered.
bro don't say 'hey google' in a video. you say you're a tech person and you just triggered every tech person's smart home.
I recently test drove some new Honda suv's, and I have to ask what on earth happened to Honda? They seem so basic nowadays. Kinda sad when nissan is more appealing than a Honda
If you like the very ordinary Taurus like front grille and the very cheap looking gloss black all over the interior...have at it.
Any car with the goodies cost about or more than $40k these days!
Starts at 30k!!!!! Omg… ive bought 4 new accords ans alwaya believed to be great value for money, now i have a van for fam and was thinking about buying another for me to commute and not put to many miles on my sport car, at 30k its gonna be a hars pass! Bought my 2013 for 22k lol
The 2013 model was the best accord ever imo
@@williamdavis4809 other than the cvt i agree, my 04 v6 was pretty sweet too though
To use the word boring is an understatement of how is the new Accord now . 👎
I think this gen looks better. It's much less unique in the front, but still looks fine (the previous gen's grill actually started to look goofy the closer you got to it anyway). It looks so much better in the rear though.
Thanks for triggering my Google device.
Not impressed in the slightest. If I wanted the benefits of a hybrid, the new Prius is at least two model run generations ahead in terms of powertrain delivery. If I wanted smooth and powerful delivery of straight line performance, I'd go with the Camry V6. Not sure why they are alienating existing purchasers who favored what the Accord formerly offered. There was a cult following that have no reason to follow any longer. In return, these same folks would consider an all Honda fleet for their household even when other models are somewhat mediocre. Now there is no reason to do even that.
Never was a Honda fan but the Prelude and the del sol were cool cars with character. Really enjoyed my prelude and hoped Honda would bring it back. Think that time has come and gone unfortunately. The newer Honda’s are so unappealing and boring and gutless. The Days of Honda standing out are gone. There just as average as a Mazda.
the front end looks like 2024 Mustang
I think I'd fall asleep from boredom from driving this thing....looks like a VW Passat had VW continued that other boring car! Geez....🤔🤨😏
Haven’t cared since they took the 6-speed manual.
Okay looking car. Kinda fat, nice touch with the taillights. Pretty easy to say what the new Accord is: It’s a car.
I mean, this is the most disappointing Honda since the CRZ 😂😂 As far as powertrain goes
Terrible exterior, though the interior is ok. Such a letdown compared to the Gen X.
