- Amazingly, Elton had not performed this number live since it came out twenty years earlier! ‘Little Jeannie’, from the 1979 album ’21 At 33’, was his highest-charting US hit between 1976 and 1988. On the night, John Jorgenson swaps out his guitar to tackle the iconic alto sax solo, while Nigel Olsson steps out from behind his drums to play tambourine and sing backing vocals. You can tell from the audience shots in this video, and the goose bumps on your arms, this one is magic.

We already know that Elton John is Sir Elton John and he's received every acclamation that one can receive. I think we're all leaving out the phenomenal band behind him. His voice is one thing but to get a band as phenomenal as this one, where each person is feeding off of the other to make this unbelievable song. Well I'm giving a shout out to those people whose names are never going to be mentioned and that's not right!!

I saw Elton at original Yellow Bricks Road in Atlanta in 1976 and took my grown daughter to farewell Yellow Bricks Road Road 47 years later, was magical kinda like books ends on an era.

Great song. I wish Elton played more of those forgotten hits. For the last decade or so his setlist has come to a stall.
I think some of them are just hard vocally,he lost some of that great vocal range back in the eighties.
Agree entirely. This song would bring the house down but he's played it once in 20 years I think. His setlist for farewell tour needs a revamp.

@@robertmichalscheck3072 no he can still sing a lot of his deep cuts like this doesnt require vocal range would work well with his voice plus he can hit higher notes now than he did a decade ago due to the rest he got from covid. so i think he could do stuff like amoreena i can see that movie too little jeannie ballad of danny bailey because they dont need falsetto and all that and his chest voice range is still good. he still sings most of his stuff in original key even hard songs like im still standing and burn down the mission.
