The way Elton overcame his throat issues and still sound awesome is amazing.People need to appreciate this legendary singer.Makes a mockery of todays singers!!!!!!
this is the song my brother played constantly before he went to basic training and this was the song the played when i got my first kiss at a high school so every time this comes on it brings tears to my eyes
Elton John is a very compassionate human being and a Class Act. I saw him perform at Washington State university in Pullman WA a few years ago and he played for almost 3 hours straight with no break. His concerts are awesome.
I wonder what he would bring the the table if there wasnt an audience and he was solely playing for himself on stage; how differently he would express himself through his music. He is just one talented guy and a great entertainer.
I don't know how it's even possible, but soft rock music can make me kinda nostalgic for a world I've never been and never seen. It calms down and gives a feeling of infinity of time as if our life is not so short at all. It gives me meaning and desire to keep living through this difficult time
You know what? This is the best song ever and it will never change. This song will never die for me, not my best song, I can't tell you what my favorite song, that would be really hard question for me, saying a favorite song. I would say my best 5 song and I can't choose a favorite of them. But, Rocket Man is the best song ever written.
This man is one of the most amazing artist bar none. I'm 62 and as long as I can remember he's been cranking out hits. I grew up with this man in my ear and will hopefully die with him in the other. I truely love Elton John, his band and music. Rock it brother..
My dad and mama told me about the wonderful nights that they spent together listening to that song...Oh God!They are so lucky...it's too bad that I couldn't live the good times!=(
Terrific performance by a genuinely talented showman. Just saw his Farewell Tour. Today's performers lack the presence and talent of so many that we saw in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Não existe na música pop compositor que se compare a Elton John. Eu o acompanho desde 1972. Estou com 68 anos e o escuto como se fosse jovem. Eh incomparável. Mantém um alto nível ate hoje.
I'm sorry, but his deeper and "husker" voice really works well for his songs. I'm glad it changed; it gives his songs so much more meaning and character.
This was Nigel Olsson’s first concert back with the band since 1984 when he and Dee Murray were sacked. Davey Johnstone had been trying to get him and Dee back for years, about 12 years, until Dee sadly died. It was during this song that Elton is quoted as saying he realised how much he missed Nigel Olsson and decided, “its time we brought Nigel back”.
The ether of brilliance and freedom that fills the upper regions of space flows freely from a liberated heart and razor-sharp mind. Elton creates music perfection as easily as most men breathe. Give this gift as freely as Elton does - give it to your children - give it to all the people of the earth!
The ether of brilliance and freedom that fills the upper regions of space, though unseen, is as plain as the sun in the summer sky, flowing freely from a liberated heart and a razor sharp mind. Beautifully expressive, Elton creates great music as effortlessly as most people breathe, providing a detour from the mediocre and the mundane.
This song, and in particular the "long long time" fade (here beautifully extended), evoked nostalgia, longing, and hope at a depth that caused both wonder and ache in 16 year-old me. 30+ years later its the same.
Raymond Reddington 🙌🏽😍 one of the most talented people ever to hit the stage He sounds so amazing in this live performance He sounds so amazing in this live performance
@@NeilMelling-pw6ts i think the live performances back then didnt maintain the original vibe because his voice was more twangy and strained and had less depth plus it sounds better without the annoying falsetto and a richer baritone voice. but the original studio version is still special and i like that.

Fabulous lyric and fabulous timeless melody. The greatest song duo Elton and Taupin. Once in a lifetime. McCartney and Lennon, John and Taupin, Rogers and Hammerstein. Amazing to watch this breathtaking performer.
Julho 2019, maravilhoso! Howard Wolowitz 😀 anyone in 2017 listening to this masterpiece? Te amo Elton John! Ouvi a infância inteira! one of the most talented people ever to hit the stage
This Englishman are old & cannot anymore hit those usual higher notes compared before, during his prime! but the heart & soul and the intensity of the song is so much, in the highest level & Way ahead than it was!!!

Elton John may be amazing, but take a moment to appreciate the great bass guitar in this song
Don't forget the guy playing that slide on the guitar...
that bass goes right though ya
Kyle Hodgeman no comparison, grapes n watermelons 🍉
that bass is the heartbeat of the song
which he wrote - not gettin fresh. Just mentioning in case people forget the composer does that too. Unless Bernie writes those?
It's crazy how your voice will change over the years!! His voice is alot different from his voice 70's version
Henry Cobb he had a surgery on his throat, it’s absolutely astounding that with technique he is still able to sing so well all considered.
Me too!
Still legendary 👀
it's call growing , maturing , learning , not a bad live version nevertheless, one of the worst wigs , I would sue the responsible for that disaster
but still amazing!!!
Elton is great himself thats for sure but let’s give some respect to his band, what a great sound they have.

Love it! Same here! Was 12 at first listening. At nearly 58 love the song even more.
I can’t believe I’m seeing him in concert next year

The outro is absolutely magical. I saw him live once and "Rocket Man" made me feel like I'd never felt before.
Elton John is rocketman
Can't imagine what my life would have been without Elton John

Elton John truly is a masterful musician with such an understanding and respect for his instrument. He truly is a legend.
I wonder what he would bring the the table if there wasnt an audience and he was solely playing for himself on stage; how differently he would express himself through his music. He is just one talented guy and a great entertainer.
To me this is the best version of this song by a mile. I don't know why but I simply love the arrangement done here.
ruclips.net/video/r_QZe8Z66x8/видео.htmlsi=-p-1-52th7ZJpJvK say that again after listening to this version before the song even came out on album
YES he sounds so good 🎶🫡
He sounds so amazing in this live performance
Dude! This is Sir Elton John! He is amazing!!!
Elton John is known as rocketman
You hear that?!?! That's called actually singing, no auto tune!
shut up nerd
THE WEEKND
easymoneydavid does he uses autotune lol
That's true
@@zaxxorz It's true, real singing was like this, people like Elton, The Beatles, Ac-Dc, Guns N Roses, they had to use their own skill, not a computers

Best performance of Rocket Man
The 1972 royal festival hall is probably the best
I think 1979 Moscow is the best
Live aid the best
Defunct Transit Hub every performance is the best
U so right mac from baltimore

Elton John is a LEGEND here in Brazil. Many men born in the 1970s and 1980s were named Elton after him.
I think this is the best version of Rocket Man i've ever heard...💖💖
Darn time goes by fast. I was there standing in the front. Been listening to him since for ever!

I was 16 when this song first came out in 1972 and had the 45 RPM record ! I love his songs !
There is pure musical genius and then there is Elton John. They are one and the same!

Maravilhoso artista. Quem não tem uma lembrança associada a uma música de Elton John. Saudade de quando música era música e não baixo nível.

Burnin' out this fuse
Up here alone
Mars ain't the kind of place
To raise your kids
In fact, it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them
If you did
And all this science
I don't understand
It's just my job
Five days a week
A rocket man
Rocket Man
And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
