2 screws hiding behind shoulder buttons. Ben just rips the case apart without unscrewing them. Pff don't need those 😂 😂 😂 I'm surprised they used the screw tbh instead of clips.
Yeah I think everyone has done that when opening the controller first, it's a sneaky place to hide the screw but gives the controller a very clean look.
@@PSNGormond yeah it is sneaky but not unexpected as we all know non of these companies want us inside our own devices modding or repairing them (they wouldn't fight right to repair if they cared about customers). If they could make it illegal and have it classed as just buying a "usage license" they would as it'd stop us from messing with or repairing them.
someone warned him on twitter and he responded with "Don't think it's screws. Rather they pop in the L1 and R1 buttons after the rear shell is in place." so can't say he wasn't aware, lol.
@@TJWhiteStarThe fact it is closed with screws and the battery has a tray and connector seems to indicate it's designed to be replaceable. Otherwise the battery would be glued and soldered into place.
Long time listener, first time caller... I can tell you have something brewing in your mind that you want to do with all of this, and I for one am extremely happy and excited to see what it will be. You don't write things "for reference" if you don't have plans for it later. Also, you sing and make awesome references when you're all hyped about something.
Larger battery will be offset by the haptics and the triggers, especially the latter. Any force feedback would require not only running the motor to a position, but energizing the coils to remain stationary when the trigger is pressed considering how easy it is to backdrive that mechanism, which will kill that battery fairly rapidly. Unless I've misinterpreted Sony's intention of this setup, but what other functional use do they have for a lever arm that blocks the trigger from fully actuating? Also those glossy pieces of plastic on the back casing next to the triggers is an interesting choice, as they don't seem to do anything. My initial thoughts were that they'd be tied into the lighting, and act as a replacement for the massive light bar; especially considering their positioning, plus it'd more than likely work in the same way, except it'd be two dots instead of one large bar. Maybe the lack of the bar means Sony is abandoning the entire camera concept they've tried to shove down our throats for three generations. That light, assuming it's constant, is probably going to be a battery hog as well, as I don't expect the setup to be the most efficient considering how bright controllers like to be.
It's stalaGmite because it's on the ground, and stalaCtite because it's on the ceiling. That's the way I've always remembered it because that's how the Carlsbad Caverns tour guide (back when they had tour guides) explained it.
