Honestly, starting from 24:09 when the goons started beating him up, I was sure they made it intentionally bad to emulate a dream. Most dream punches are horribly slow.
Honestly, someone who has nightmares that mirror their real world problems is a decent concept for a story. But the execution of the concept in this game is wtf levels of bad.... unless the game devs were going for a "so bad it's good" type of game. If so good job to them.

That was the most entertaining bad indie horror game I've seen John play in a long time. Normally I find myself yawning halfway through these games, because they are just so repetitious, but this game had a lot of unique qualities that actually made it very enjoyable to watch. That ending was just amazing, it was so awkwardly out of place, but a joy to watch.
I personally feel this games protrays a typical nightmare very well. The janky animations are exactly how it is like in a dream, like when you try to run but your legs ain't sprinting properly.
While it's not great(and maybe I'm setting the bar real low here), I can seriously appreciate the ambition and effort of the developer. The fact we got to see actual cut screens during the game, to me, is a lot of promise. It means they're willing to go above and beyond for the stories they wanna tell, even if it's maybe above their current skill level. That says a lot IMO and I'm excited for anything else the dev puts out.
I watched someone else play this many many years ago and didn't see that ending. It must change based on the final choice where you were unable to click. I like how they ask the players to not ask for refunds.

When you make a game sound bad(via the title) I always say to myself "It can't be that bad" They almost always are. The end credits were unique though.
I got to say I really like how they handled their credits. I applaud game devs for trying to make their credits a little more fun for the person playing the game. Often you are sitting there waiting to see if there is anything after or in some games you are waiting to save for new game plus. So instead of having just a list of credits you make them either interactable or entertaining instead of just waiting for a list of names to roll by. It isn't to say that crediting people isn't important. However, making it more fun will mean that some people pay more attention and the player isn't sitting there with dead space. Some people might not care but it's an extra step that I appreciate seeing done.
I love the David Mitchell graphic, and the attempt at the voice for a second. The idea that the comedian David Mitchell would have been quoted over the science fiction writer tickles me.

For anyone who’s never seen the movie John is referencing called “the room”, it’s worth the watch for the hilarity of its awfulness. The movie is so bad that it became funny and is a cult classic. The movie gets shown in theaters here in Los Angeles once in a while, and Tommy Wiseau who is the director and also the main character in the movie actually does Q and A’s in the theater after the showing. The main character of The Room, shares the same name as the protagonist in this game. Johnny.

Also the 'you want me to sacrifice my cat' line was probably a reference to Drag Me To Hell, because she's told to sacrifice her cat to appease the entity she was the cursed with to try and break the curse. It could also just be a demon trope but not sure.

Yeah I think the other two choices would have had different outcomes but the Zombies choice is basically blaming other people/things than himself.

For anyone who’s never seen the movie John is referencing called “the room”, it’s worth the watch for the hilarity of its awfulness. The movie is so bad that it became funny and is a cult classic. The movie gets shown in theaters here in Los Angeles once in a while, and Tommy Wiseau who is the director and also the main character in the movie actually does Q and A’s in the theater after the showing. The main character of The Room, shares the same name as the protagonist in this game. Johnny.

Lol goddamn that voice acting, even Wiseau was better. Also the 'you want me to sacrifice my cat' line was probably a reference to Drag Me To Hell, because she's told to sacrifice her cat to appease the entity she was the cursed with to try and break the curse. It could also just be a demon trope but not sure.
4:06 This seems to be an Easter egg by Brazilian horror filmmaker Zé do Caixão (I think "Coffin Joe" would be the closest translation of the name to English).
The end credits scene has that weird sorta awkward, strangely wholesome charm that reminds me a lot of the ending musical number in Limbo of the Lost

this transcends the "so bad it's good" genre. what a trip it was to watch this!
