I dont think it was the salmonids attacking. There is literally zero salmonid noises to be heard at least to me. I think the “salmonid noises” you heard was shivers master mega revving up. Even if it does turn out to be salmonids attacking, that wouldnt even make sense because yeah there is no salmonid noises but also why would they even use salmonids as the reason? They already got their story, mr grizz is in space, and thats that. You could argue the lil judd is behind it but i would like to think they would use him for a different story as doing the salmonid theme for the 3rd time in a row wouldnt make sense especially because splatoon 3 is wrapped up and it is likely a hint to something s4.
I did make an attempt to listen for any sounds of revving, because some people said they heard that, but I couldn’t. I personally heard salmonids like some water moving, which could be Master Mega, some weird sniffing, a steel-head’s bomb charging (and blowing up), and maybe some kind of roars? I heard the roars before Shiver called for Master Mega btw Edit: I just heard this, but while Deep Cut is laughing, you hear what is probably smth large blow up, so maybe a king salmonid, however, the only issue with this is that I think I remember King Salmonids only canonically appearing during the time of Splatoon 3, but maybe a king salmonid showed up at the graduation?
