I agree! But I suspect it will be exactly as described in this video as “another yz250x. Either way I couldn’t be happier with Kawasaki in their decision to produce a new 2 stroke.

@@dominocweber9763 it’s tough to say. Now the Cody web has built out his yz for hard enduro it’s possible to speculate that the jap bike manufacturers are looking at this market as a growing concern. Consider that those of us who grew up on the 80s 90s 2t bikes are either still riding or getting back on the saddle and have found single track a great way to ride without smashing ourselves to pieces. Kawi also has a huge kdx following that would likely jump all over a fresh kdx with an easy button.

It will be interesting to see what they do. KX bikes have always been race bikes while the kdx or klx are the trail/enduro bikes. Seems like the market is so spread on what people want it is almost certainly going to fail unless they come out with a kx and a kdx bike. That way 1st gear riders and 4th gear riders can both be happy.

It would be great that Kawasaki to do that again. I am a YZ lover, I own 4 of them and an 02 YZ250, 05 YZ250, 14 YZ250, and a 06 YZ144. I only ride them in the trails and hills. I don’t need or want……any electric start, hydronic clutch, or fuel injection. The YZ has been rated by all dirt magazines as THE BEST ALL AROUND dirt bike just as they are. I don’t even have the X. I just love how raw it is, theres also the fun factor. I for one don’t need or want all that weighted gobbldiguke you just mentioned. For me it has no meaning. Again it’s not the machine it’s the rider period! My bikes rip in the low or the high. It’s absurd that someone would buy a bike that costs them $11,000-$16,000. You could buy a good used jeep for that much, it’s stupid! That bike will also need an exception parts availablilty and ONLY THE YZ HAS THAT! I rebuild dirt bikes and ride them too. I bikes, I’ve rebuilt and sold many for almost 15 years. Some makes are good and some are better but again you don’t need all the crap to go on a bike. Just learn to make the machine an extension of your own body. You will become an amazing rider even on your 02 KTM XC250-300. Just that you will have to wait for parts because KTM doesn’t make that motor or suspension anymore.

    • @herbcanter2114

100% correct . Yamaha has kept the YZ 2 strokes pretty much the same because that allows endless parts availability and dirt cheap parts availability . They could make major improvements year in year out but they don't because they would lose the huge benefit of having cheap and and an endless supply of parts .

The kx250x is kind of an interesting duck of a bike. I own a YZ250fx and I've got to ride a friend's KX250x The big takeaway from it is the transmission is very Motocross like it's a lot closer ratio than the FX. Now if Kawasaki makes a kdx300, I think that the 250 FX in my shop would be needing to worry about finding a new owner. I raced a kdx200 from the time I was 14 to and then got a kdx last year as nostalgia purchase. And even that old kdx is still competitive against modern bikes. I think Kawasaki could really take a huge share of the market.

It is a big step for a youngster to go from an 85/105/112cc big wheel to a 250 either two or four stroke. So, a 125cc two stroke is needed for youth and adult alike to go along with the 250/300. It is what many of us back in the day learned on ... 100/125cc two strokes.

125 was my step up from 80. I still needed a milkcrate or stump to stand on to start it or run along side it and hop on to get going. It was waaaaay too tall for me. The 80's 125s are actually fairly large bikes. It would be nice to see some more 125s on the market.

The FI and counter balancer wouldn't be mandatory for me. CB would be nice but I can go either way on carb/FI. IMO, you mine as well offer an MX and XC version. You can make some minor tweaks and make it work for both. I'm on a 23 TC 250 setup for off road and really love the bike.

Where they really need a product is in the 125MX class, the kids start on the 65 and then they transfer to another brand unless they can cope with a 250f, that's got to be their target along with a 250 (the Yamaha 250 is the best selling dirt bike in the US market).

There’s no need for a hydraulic clutch. Just added costs.

Hydraulic clutches feel/work better and do not need to be adjusted as it heats up, I’ll pay extra for that performance anytime.

@ You own a KTM that’s why you feel that way. I own a KTM too but I’m no fanboy. There are plenty of standard clutches that feel and perform just as good.

They need to hurry up! It needs to be off road (kdx). They will sell an absolute ton of them! So many people sick of the ktm/Husq/GG crap. I still run two kdx200's for my son because they wipe the floor with what else is out there.

Huge mistake going with gas, everything in the woods should be electric for many reasons. The biggest one being engine maintenance, especially 4 strokes. The second one is no sound for stealth, this and no exhaust should make trail legal access better.

Electric bikes do not have enough range for the mountain rides I do. They would also not work for road trips when I’m riding several days in a row and may not have access to charge them.

If they do as Yamaha has in the past and build something just using what’s leftover in the warehouse. NO.
In fact if it’s not something comparable to a current eversion of Austrian bike, NO again.
