The kx250x is kind of an interesting duck of a bike. I own a YZ250fx and I've got to ride a friend's KX250x The big takeaway from it is the transmission is very Motocross like it's a lot closer ratio than the FX. Now if Kawasaki makes a kdx300, I think that the 250 FX in my shop would be needing to worry about finding a new owner. I raced a kdx200 from the time I was 14 to and then got a kdx last year as nostalgia purchase. And even that old kdx is still competitive against modern bikes. I think Kawasaki could really take a huge share of the market.
Kawasaki has ALWAYS had the very worst reliability compared to the other Japanese brands , thats it's biggest negative . Tomac would have a few more championships if his Kawi didn't cause so many DNF's.
I am absolutely stoked on this! I would really like to purchase one. I would like to support the idea of bringing back 2 strokes. Don’t get me wrong I do love the power of the modern 4 strokes but 2 strokes have always been my preference of bike.
It is a big step for a youngster to go from an 85/105/112cc big wheel to a 250 either two or four stroke. So, a 125cc two stroke is needed for youth and adult alike to go along with the 250/300. It is what many of us back in the day learned on ... 100/125cc two strokes.
125 was my step up from 80. I still needed a milkcrate or stump to stand on to start it or run along side it and hop on to get going. It was waaaaay too tall for me. The 80's 125s are actually fairly large bikes. It would be nice to see some more 125s on the market.
