I have a white 2004 GTP I Bought back in 2022 from the original owner. The nice old lady only used it as a work car for 18 years. She said she never took it out of town. In the condition it was in I believed her. It’s been a great reliable car! Love it 😍
I had the comp G 2004 GTP, and those paddle shifters were useless. And mine DID upshift on its own in manual mode if i didnt do it before 5500rpm. So i always left it in drive so it would shift at redline under full throttle.
It did after an update they did before the mid cycle refresh, along with dual zone auto climate control and it was only available on top trims with every option, then finally the GXP. It was about $3000 and it was extremely rare.
I never liked the W body Grand Prix.. from 1997 and up.. I loved the 6th gen for the fwd. I had a few rwd G bodies too. I just think they look bloated. I much preferred the Bonneville's look.. but alas.
The GM 3800. One of the all time best engines ever. Good power and fuel economy.

Nice! How much did you pay? Mileage?
Generally reliable cars.
I miss brands like Pontiac and Mercury. 😢
4:29 Host, John Davis in the rear seat
Haven't seen one of these in at least 10 years lol
I remember owning a 1998 Grand Prix GTP with the 3800 Supercharged motor. Man that thing got up and went for being a V6.
These were great cars.
4:29 this is the first time in 40+ years of motor week I’ve seen John actually do the interior demonstration
Gm really milked that W body platform
Love this body style 🎉

My mom had one great engine car not so much😂
280 ft pounds is alot thats as much as my 1988 lincoln town car.
Loved my 00 gp. These were nice but not as good on fuel
Good car, but the technology was lacking. It came with only 4 speed automatic instead of 5 speed. Also, the car came with no navigation option.

Nav sucked back then. Better of with a Garmin as they could be updated
@@foxtrot685 correct, but still came with 4 speed auto.
Not to mention the styling looks at least a few years out of date for being a 04
Car companies should release older vehicles not alot of them
The prior generation looked better to me.
Same, this one has nice tech but that design looks old for 2003

‘Subtle’ rear spoiler 😅
The GTP had a weak transmission
My dad had one it broke down in him he later an 02 Avalon and never looked back
Looks 2000 lmao
Looks very dated for 2003
I HAD 1
