I wish you could hear my audible "oooohhh" when I watched your explanation. Or my "haha!" when I dislodged the obvious clog and the indicator went back to black. Thank you; these straightforward videos are such a gift.
I must tell you that in all the years I have owned a Miele vacuum, you are the only person who has every been able to satisfactorily explain that darned indicator. Thank you for making this video and finally clearing up the mystery for me!
SO incredibly helpful and clear. An example of wonderful customer care and service. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make and post this video!
Thank you sooo much. My Vacuum was showing poor air flow. Changed the bag, still poor. Watched your video, pulled everything apart and found a massive hair-ball which was holding a large coin. Keep up the good work!
It's not actually measuring airflow, it's measuring static pressure. There's also another possibility that will make the indicator give erroneous readings. If it doesn't return to zero when the vacuum is off, there's probably debris stuck inside the indicator. Ours got a bunch of tiny, round foam beads inside the mechanism, which came from a stuffed animal that one my my kids ripped open. You can remove it carefully and empty it out.
Great video! I discovered that the filters on our Complete C3 were replaced incorrectly, causing dust to be sucked directly into the motor compartment. I was able to clean it by disassembling the C3 and using an air compressor. Now I'm not sure if the motor is damaged or not. I THINK it makes a higher-pitched (almost like it's clogged) sound than before, but I'm not certain. The bag full indicator is almost completely red when running at the highest suction setting, even with no hose connected and an empty bag. Could the motor be damaged?

This video solved my problem. Thanks a lot.
