I’ve got some more fantasy romance without fae that I think you’d like: The Liars Crown by Abigail Owen, The Queens Rising by Rebecca Ross, The Frostblood Saga by Elly Blake, Your Blood My Bones by Kelly Andrew, Forsaken Thrones by L. L. Stiles, Thorn Princess by Bekah Harris, The Lord of Stariel by A. J. Lancaster, A Thousand Recipes for Revenge by Beth Cato and Incendiary by Zoraida Cordova. These are all really good Romantasy books I think you’d like. Let me know if any interest you and which ones those are.
I loved J Bree’s Broken bond series, I’m so glad it’s getting noticed. Her new series sounds great too, but I hate reading series until they’re finished so I don’t have to wait years for the next book.
I agree with so many of these! A lot of good ones on this list. I would love to see you do another list like this that are super underrated books that most people wouldn’t have heard of. That would be fun to watch.
I wanna do one of like overhyped that are worth it, but I dont really read romantasy that are super small. but like honestly unless its huge most romantasy has a much smaller audience. like good reads ratings are a lot smaller of a number
My list of favs! Some contemporary recs here too because I couldn’t help myself! 😂! The All Souls series by Deborah Harkness! It starts with A Discovery Of Witches! The first 3 books make a complete arc of the story. There are standalone books afterwards. Time’s Convert and The Blackbird Oracle are the only two atm, but there’ll be more. 🌶️🌶️🌶️. The Blackbird Oracle was announced in December 2022 as the 5th book in this world with these characters. It’s now released! (The characters/actual love story make it my favourite series rather than the spice in this case, although it IS there!). This is my MOST favourite book series! The Plated Prisoner series by Raven Keinnedy - it finishes in September this year, so not long to wait! Gets smutty in book 3! If you don’t like book 1, PLEASE read book 2! It gets soooooo much better! I’ve read GILD (#1) and GLINT (#2) twice and I love it more the second time reading it. Finishes in September this year! - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The ACOTAR series by SJM - smut in book 2! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - LOADS of DETAILED SMUT in ACOSF (#5, plus the MMC is my favourite from this series)! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - I know you’ve read this but for the VERY few that haven’t! Wicked Villains by Katee Robert - smut galore! Contemporary but with Disney characters so that makes it fantasy in my eyes! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon - sci-fi smut - VERY SMUTTY! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - I class sci-fi as fantasy. I mean Non hoth, the planet IPB takes place on doesn’t really exist. IF YA WANT SPICE check out these!!!!!! The Dreamland Billionaires by Lauren Asher - Contemporary but oooooh, sooooo good!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Boss series by Abigail Barnette - Contemporary again, but ooooooooh, sooooo good!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Temptation/Satisfaction series by K.M Golland - Contemporary again but oooooh, sooooo good!!! Already finished. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Ivy Lessons by SK Quinn - Contemporary again but oooooh, sooooo good!!! Already finished. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Royals Saga by Geneva Lee - Contemporary again but oooooh, soooooooo good!!! Finished for now, I believe. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ here is the reading order for The Royals Saga: Alexander and Clara: Command Me, Conquer Me, Crown Me Smith and Belle: Crave Me, Covet Me, Capture Me All the Royals: Complete Me Alexander and Clara: Cross Me, Claim Me, Consume Me Smith and Belle: Breathe Me, Break Me X: Command Me through Alexander’s Eyes can be read anytime after Command Me! The Spider's mate trilogy - fantasy - finished - Tiffany Roberts! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Hooked series by Emily McIntyre - dark contemporary smut! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Never King series - Nikki St Crowe 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Mating Lexi - April Cross - contemporary - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Pucking series - Emily Rath - contemporary - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Read Just One Night first)!!! If ya want contemporary spice check out this!!! It Happened One Summer - Tessa Bailey - contemporary - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - a little slow to get to the sexy bits but when it does they’re great! Haunting Adeline - dark contemporary - if you want obsessive, extreme s3x, though not too much of it! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️! I liked Satan’s Affair more than HA! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!!!
I have almost zero romantasy experience, but having watched hours and hours of your content this week I am going to pick up and read The Serpents and the Wings of Night to see how I go with this genre 🤞
I am reading the serpent and the wings of night series now. I’ve read the first one and the novella and loved them! I’m set to read the second one soon. Just so you know it’s not just a duology it will be six books broken up into 3 duologys so there will be more.
I say this in the video it's a dulogy but there will be more books following different couples. I count it as a six duologies since there romance arcs wrap up.
I’m 60% in House of Bane and Blood, for battleathon, thanks to you…I am loving it!!😍 Super 5 star feels. Trying to finish today for final book of week one!!😅
I've just recently watched a video from BecxReadz where she recommended some slow-burn romances, and 3 of romantasy series she recommended really caught my eye since they sounded quite unique (plus slow burn is my favorite romance trope), so I wanted to share them (I wanna try all 3 soon): 1. Serpent's Touch duology by Marina Simcoe which is apparently about a meek girl freeing a _gorgon_ fae from a "zoo". She grows as a person throughout the duology and there is a cute bonus where she can't look at him lest she turn into stone 😍 2. Heart of the Fae duology by Emma Hamm which is apparently about a girl going to some magical island to find a cure for an illness that is afflicting her people, but finds instead a guy who has _geodes_ growing from/on him! 😲They end up needing to break both of their curses. (I also heard that the whole series, of which this is a subseries, except the mermaid one, apparently, is really good) 3. The Inkwater trilogy by Atley Wykes which is apparently a trilogy of connected standalones, I think? Where the first one is about a fae warrior finding a swamp witch and trying to force her to break the curse she put on his people... except she wasn't the one who cursed them. So they end up traversing her magical swamp in search of the solution for the curse. And supposedly this has good banter as well since she's trying to convince him it wasn't her and he doesn't believe her.
the fact that I have only read two of these pains me deeply hahah dammit, I need to get back in my romantasy bag!!! hobab, nyaxia and flame and sparrow are my top priorities, I think... thanks for all the recs 🤩🤩
Have you done one with faries? Please one with vampires. Also I need one with witched 🤩 . . . book 1: I liked how happily ✨️you talked about a book that I dnfed 🤣 For me the age gap vampire-human was too much. Book 2: never heard Book 3: BEAUTIFUL EDITION ✨️🙀 never seen befor🧐. Me 😮💨 ch16-to-ch24 plot does not justify the number of pages in my opinion. But the autor KNOWS the write battles and fighting for sure. Book 4: no idea Book 5: I am curious...are all 5 books one big story OR all others like book 1 but from MCs POVs each? Book 6: Fourth Wing is not a book for me. I haven't touched it. Book 7: You sugested this book so often so I am picking it. I hope I like it. Please tell me there is no cringe... Book 8: It so fun that the cover looks, to me, very contemporary but it is fantasy with Gods. Book 9: also NEW to me and and not seen on my watched booktuber Book 10: I read that one standalone book in Niaxia world. How many chapters should be read to realisticly decide yes or no for this book? My sugestion: HOW TO NOT DATE A DEMON By Lana Kole , so fun and loved the twist to the worldbuiling at the end very much. SUDUCTION OF A PSYCHOPOMP by Elsie Winters ....best part there are NO HUMANS IN THIS ONE. So so good, sweet, hot, fun. A SOUL TO KEEP book 1 in Duskwalker Brides series. Very good. An arranged marriage so the human village would be magicaly protected 10 years long.
I’m glad you talked about Spark of the Everflame! I am struggling through the first book so I can get to the next ones.
Hopefully the second one clicks for you the way it did for me
