I love that I finally see a rational voice on getting your splits!! When I watch those "getting splits in 30 days" videos I'm always surprised how they didn't injure themselves in the process. In one of my first training sessions, I didn't even stretch that far into pain, but my hamstring popped, something tore, and it was quite painful for a while. I agree that safety, quality, and sustainability are more important than short-term progress.
Share more of your experiences here, just like this video. I also started exercising at the age of 23, I have been doing bodybuilding for 1.5 years and I have been doing CrossFit for 4 months now. Everyone has different actions based on their genes, physical ability, and adherence to principles. The important point is continuity.
Congratulations! I've been struggling with my splits since forever :)) but I admit I haven't been consistent so that's why I had very little progress but you reinforced me the idea that is should take a long time otherwise you risk injury because there are so many stuff that should be developed patiently..
You really deserve more subs, you are great and your videos motivate me to keep going 🤝 Stretching for the middlesplit since 6 months I will not quit until I get there. I stretch it 3 times a week every week without failing. In general I love your approach and it's exactly what I want to do as well. Thanks for the time you took to record your videos
I needed this! I'm on day 70, and in the last week I started to give up. The program I bought claimed that you should be able to get into a split in 30-60 days... I think I need an another 700😅
Thanks for the videos dude. This stuff is hard work, and for most people - guys especially who are not already flexible - this will take an enormous amount of time. Realistic expectations are super helpful.
love your channel just discovered it and am planning on working on doing splits and similar challenges to you so thanks for giving a realistic timeline
I started training for splits few days ago and this is by far the most realistic and honest split progress video I've seen😊 I'm so far from the ground so I don't get my hopes high on getting the splits in 30 days😂, but at least it gives me hope that if I stick to my goal I may be able to achieve it someday ^^ Thanks for sharing your journey and congrats on getting the middle split🤗 🥳 Keep up the good work🎉
Hello! Thank you for sharing your personal experience with achieving your middle split! I hate the people who say "get your split in 1 month" that could be possible for an extremely flexible person maybe? But definetly it takes more more than that, I also think everyone has their own time until getting the full split. What I'm saying is that everyone is different and for example I reached your pose at day 348 in roughly 3 months. But good job on getting your full split, you truly put the dedication in it. I'm still working on getting lower and lower.
thanks for the comment - yes, certainly true that timeframe of achieving middle split will vary GREATLY by everyone. I'm still working on getting lower and lower as well :)
I love that you are being honest and shared your story/process. I really appreciate it. Thank you. Can you record a video what exercises did you use to achieve splits specifically?
Good stuff. I’m likely I’m stage 3 of your journey. I’d say a month in with several months if not 2 years away. U confirmed what I was starting to figure out. I knew that was getting sore from stretching & had to take off for soreness just like w lifting.
Thanks! 1:40 onwards shows some examples of exercises I've done. I did short 20-30min low intensity stretching (almost) every morning & night, and active high intensity stretching sessions 1-2 a week starting mid-way through progression. Hope this helped :)
if youre already full grown up. Never exercised wide stretching legs as a kid especially gymnastics or martial arts. More loose and tear can recover quick then it easier
Think its a lot of genetics too. I´m a 6´6 270lbs german guy and I can split down till about 50 cm off the floor without ever stretching at all. I can do super good ass to grass squats tho, maybe that helped.
Welcome back to RUclips! This video is really well made and sends a good message. Focusing on one movement will lead to faster results. Also - it takes knowledge to break through plateaus. How did you go about finding helpful sources that you could trust?
Thanks! Just lots of "studying" through youtube/instagram experts! I incorporated lots of ideas from and - maybe they might help you too, definitely helped for me :)
Aight well I’ll say I’m on board to subscribe and be one of the first before your channel gets bigger. I have been stretching for 8 months now still can’t touch my toes. I also practice middle splits. Still a long ways from. I feel a very tight line when I try and not sure if that’s normal (tendon near knee on inside? ) in any case I just try to get 3 days in a week of a good stretch session. And after those sessions I especially feel sore the next day. Was this the same for you?
Thanks for the comment! I didn't feel sore on days that I did light stretching, but as seen on the video, when I started doing more stretches with loading/intensity, I did feel sore on some occasions. In my opinion, rule of thumb is to go slow but moderately add intense (intentional contraction/added weight) here and there on days your body allows you. Hope this helped :)
When I take rest of like 2days and go back it becomes difficult it's like I'm starting from scratch. Some people they take like a week not stretching then restart some a month then restart it helps but its like a waist of time.
Hey! I did short 20-30min low intensity stretching (almost) every morning & night, and active high intensity stretching sessions 1-2 a week starting mid-way through progression. Hope this helped :)
That is slow AF. It should have took you 30 days. Instead you wasted time doing other stuff like handstands and etc. If you want to learn airflare, practice airflare. If you want the splits, use proper form, use your breathes to ease into it, relax, and you should have it in 1-3 months max.

You are my hero man. I hate all these ‘splits in 30 days’ videos and finally a realistic video. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your honesty. I think doing splits in 30 days is unrealistic.
Set goals, not due dates. Thanks for the wisdom

hopefully I will! For now, focus on doing good mix of passive and active stretching (e.g. wide squats)
My guy! Amazing video

1:59 😂 cant wait to see another challenge!!
How many times did u stretch in a week, did u take breaks. Were u working or staying at home. When did u start to see development in which month.

Tanks,

Hey! I did short 20-30min low intensity stretching (almost) every morning & night, and active high intensity stretching sessions 1-2 a week starting mid-way through progression. Hope this helped :)
When u start doing this shit. Stretch u are supa progressive and after a long time u are not progressive plateau
