With Texas Chainsaw Massacre timeline shenanigans, the major problem with that series is after the original 70s film, each entry tried to be a sequel/pseudo follow-up to the first one. The kicker is that each film was completely different to that film. Even though most of them are mediocre rehashes in that regard, I still like the bizarre & zaniness that each one had to offer in terms of coming up with it's own style. You can at least tell which one was made in which era/decade. TCM 2 was very 80's in terms of visuals & it's references, TCM 3: Leatherface had that 90's grunge kick to it with a decent performance from both Ken Foree & a young Viggo Mortensen. TCM: The Next Generation was a very unhinged, unadulterated weirdness mixed with black comedy by a batshit performance from Matthew McConaughey lol. Platinum Dunes remake & it's prequel were solid & gory return to form for the franchise after a few decades of ballsy missed takes. With the Halloween franchise, the sequels after the original 2 films minus the 3rd standalone feel the exact same thing. At least the most recent trilogy tried something new.

There is also that TCM (2022) sequel, which was abysmal.
TBH: I hope they get Malcolm McDowell to play Dr. Loomis in the new Halloween Tv show! Say whatever You want about the Rob Zombie films, folks can't deny that Malcolm McDowell was the perfect casting for Dr. Loomis

With the halloween franchise i think it’s time for a complete reboot. Obviously keep the main parts but maybe instead of him as a child murdering his sister he killed someone else like a family member. I’m tired of all the new timelines and i feel if they get the right writer and director they can make Michael more terrifying theres so many things you can do to where you dont gotta deal with the first movie. Really I’m just waiting for a new reboot that can really change the franchise for the better.

Cory was just a representation of this and they warned people ahead of time that Many won't understand it fully and some will not like it, but I did and I know a LOT of people who do also. It dosent tho, his sister just went up to his house, he recognized her even tho he was in prison for 10 years and she was a baby if even born at all when he went to prison, as there was no child in the house. Maybe the parents got pregnant later on. Then he started stalking her because he killed his first sister? It makes more sense that he killed his sister, went to prison, went home, then a random girl delivered mail to the house she was warned not to go to and he stalked her and killed her friends, and failed to kill her. Unless you see a different side to this, then you could happily share :)
It kind of sounds like the original script for Halloween 7 where after H6, Michael was taken to prison for 3 years. And his way to escape is to somehow make his heart stop beating and he's taken away by the ambulance to make his escape. However, he has a tracking device on his ankle and the detectives track him. Only to find that Michael managed to already cut it off but they conclude he's heading to the nearest town up ahead to start his murders again where he steals a mock-up costume of himself on a mannequin at a local Halloween store.
They should've done that with Halloween Ends, if they were desperate to go the copycat killer angle, have Corey seemingly seem like he is helping the officers, including Sheriff Hawkins protect Laurie's family and help look for Michael Myers at the same time, only for at the end to Corey to be revealed as someone who is also doing the killings without ever coming into contact with Michael Myers, only for Michael Myers to get to Corey and kill him, and then have Michael kill several more people, including officers to then get to Laurie Strode and her family for a final showdown. Ends would've worked out like that instead of the senselessness story that they gave us. Not only that but Sheriff Hawkins played by Will Patton wasn't used properly in the trilogy, he was literally kept alive for no good reason at all, that is why I wished they had done Halloween Ends almost like Halloween 7 Two faces of Evil, that way having Corey seeimingly help the police, would have given a better use and more development of the Sheriff Hawkins character.
I've always loved the brother / sister connection of Laurie and Michael . I remember the first time me and my friends watched part 2 on vhs, lol. When she says " That girl, the Stode girl, that's Michael Myers sister " , WE WENT CRAZY ! 😂😂😂 We were like , " What the heck! Yes ! "
It would be cool if they do at least half the season with Michael in prison, have the main character be a prisoner that is maybe innocent but has a life sentence, has motives to escape so they focus on the prisoner and micheal as a jaws like villain who we barely see. Then Have our innocent prisoner plot an escape which leads to Micheal escaping as well. Then have a cat and mouse chase with the prisoner and Micheal all the way back to haddonfield.
I think there should be a reboot of halloween. It should take place 30 years after Halloween 4 with jamie Lloyd returning. You can have michael myers be taken to jail instead of then being taken care of by that homeless guy in number 4. You make a trilogy, you have characters like Tommy Doyle appear, Lindsey wallce appear as well.
Build up both the new Friday tv show and the Halloween tv show, have small Easter eggs to both and have Michael chase somebody to camp blood and boom you have Jason vs Michael
Plus he still is a random killer as killing Laurie is only part of his “motivation” as Michael still is the shape and thus kills people indiscriminately and if you add the sibling angle the reason he targets Laurie is because anybody he’s related to he likes to have priority over. Michael likes to have both spree killings and also main targets for the thrill of the hunt thus why he was so eager to go after his long lost little sister because he wanted to redo the satisfying feeling he got killing his older sister Judith especially with Laurie now being of same age thus why he waited almost 20 years because since he still had her as blood family before he wanted to kill anybody else he wanted to prioritize his sister and any friends she had nearby her to draw out the sport. I think that’s a valid theory imo!
Honestly you know what would be a really great Halloween movie? If they have to stay to the 1978 timeline again a direct sequel from the first film, they should honestly definitely do a 80’s look back when Michael was still young coming back every Halloween kinda like stranger things! Mainly because I really love that Halloween kills flashback scene so much. I mean if they can make that a full movie that looks straight like in the 70’s or 80’s I’ll pay tickets to see that Michael film honestly! I like Halloween (2018) and Kills, but they'd be at least 2x better if Laurie and Michael were related. That way there wouldn't need to be roundabout ways for them to meet up, and Laurie's obsession would make a bit more sense.

Starz owned Ash vs Evil Dead, and the show was cancelled after season 3, due to people just not subscribing to Starz 😭 they wanted a 4th season as well, that’s why season 3 ended on a huge cliffhanger. I really hope it doesn’t go to starz.. I’m not that interested in this series to begin with but any tv show that ends up on that platform is destined to die lol.

I always assumed the best way to continue halloween would be to do what they're doing. The firsr is set in stone, all the sequels etc are added "campfire" stories people told after 78, so you can always start fresh straight of the original. So to have a series and movie set after 78 is a no brainer, might not be the best titke for the movie but Halloween 1979 or 1980, tells you right away what you're getting and also adds to that "camp fire" aspect of someone or even a survivor telling their story, "halloween 1979 michael escaped"

So therefore it wouldn't make sense if his mask to be melted to his face, unless this reboot series was taking place after Halloween ll.

And have a tv series be like an alternate sequel to 1978 original where he’s the main character instead of Laurie who can be just left alone and since not tied to Michael if 2 isn’t canon in this continuity Michael doesn’t have anymore interest in her as she was a lost chance of a victim thus he goes back to targeting random people because he’s the shape. The shape doesn’t keep grudges, he just adapts to every situation and doesn’t bother with the same targets if they aren’t easily to kill and thus can decide to move on from the fleeting survivors. It’s what John Carpenter intended for the character.
The first half of the season needs to be him in prison, get some good kills like take the essence from Rob Zombie's Halloween where they allow him to make masks because he's a kid, then like you said he sneaks at night yo kill that person with a mask on. Dr Loomis comes and gets him transferred to a psych ward or facility and he breaks out days later and makes his way to Haddonfield on Halloween and has his first Haddonfield kill. I do think it needs to be Lori Strode due to her being his sister. Maybe the whole season could be where he keeps eluding Dr Loomis trying to find Lori and the last few episodes it would be her fighting to stay away and ending the season with her "killing" him so then you can have a second season.
I did watch a show called Heels which is a Starz original I believe starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig and I personally enjoyed it quote a bit
I don't think that it might be an actual prison remember in the tv cut of the original Halloween during a court hearing after six-year-old Michael is sent to Smiths Grove. Loomis asks the doctors to have Michael transferred to a maximum security facility in another town and claims that Smith's Grove security isn't sufficient enough to deal with Michael. It could be that after the events of the original Halloween from Michael's escape from Smith's Grove to the murder spree he committed in Haddonfield on Halloween. That they take Loomis' warnings to heart and transfer Michael to the institution that Loomis had recommended in the tv version's scene I can't see them going from having Micahel in an insane asylum to an actual prison.
We will get officially announcement this October around Halloween of course. Alot of people assume this Halloween aftermath thing is real that's a fan made film. Only details we know that Laurie won't be our final girl in this focus more on others like Annie and Tommy etc.
It would be really cool if one of the prisoners was some way somehow affiliated with one of Michaels victims and that inmate then try's to kill Michael.
I like the prison idea, but if Michael is in prison during the show, does that mean he has to go without his mask? I don't know if I would love a show with a new actor for Michael where we can see his face the whole time.
Shared universes are tiresome. I don’t mind a tv series spin off, but why does the tv show need to be interconnected to any future movies?! Gonna be the same problem with Marvel. Honestly a tv show based on Michael Myers and Halloween should be like the upcoming Camp Crystal Lake series where it’s its own thing that doesn’t connect to the movies. The Halloween franchise can have 2 simultaneous continuities at the same time and people wouldn’t have issue with it. Also, I’d like a separate tv show spin off about the Season of the Witch universe or a anthology with some episodes about Michael and some about other strange stuff on Halloween like other serial killers or some potential supernatural phenomena like ghosts, monsters, unexplainable occurrences, etc.
To be honest, I didn’t care for Jamie Lee Curtis in the new Halloween trilogy that Green did. She just didn’t have that same energy from the 1978 movie or even part two. If they’re doing a reboot, they should set it after the events of Halloween 2 and say Michael killed Laurie(off screen of course). They could then use Jamie from Halloween 4 as the new protagonist that Michael targets. They could even explore the whole connection angle that happened between Jamie and Michael. But, this time they could use that connection as Jamie’s advantage against Michael to save people or thwart his plans. Many fans hated the Thorne trilogy but I thought it was a great concept with poor execution and bad storytelling. If they wanted to, they could even use elements of that Thorne trilogy to create new story for the reboot. There’s literally endless potential but whatever they decide to do with the Halloween franchise, they’ve gotta keep the same directors and tell a more uniform story across all movies. The continuity errors of the original movies is quite possibly the worst of all horror films. They need the same vision across all movies going forward.

Michael likes to have both spree killings and also main targets for the thrill of the hunt thus why he was so eager to go after his long lost little sister because he wanted to redo the satisfying feeling he got killing his older sister Judith especially with Laurie now being of same age thus why he waited almost 20 years because since he still had her as blood family before he wanted to kill anybody else he wanted to prioritize his sister and any friends she had nearby her to draw out the sport. I think that’s a valid theory imo!

Honestly you know what would be a really great Halloween movie? If they have to stay to the 1978 timeline again a direct sequel from the first film, they should honestly definitely do a 80’s look back when Michael was still young coming back every Halloween kinda like stranger things! Mainly because I really love that Halloween kills flashback scene so much. I mean if they can make that a full movie that looks straight like in the 70’s or 80’s I’ll pay tickets to see that Michael film honestly!

Starz owned Ash vs Evil Dead, and the show was cancelled after season 3, due to people just not subscribing to Starz 😭 they wanted a 4th season as well, that’s why season 3 ended on a huge cliffhanger.

I always assumed the best way to continue halloween would be to do what they're doing. The firsr is set in stone, all the sequels etc are added "campfire" stories people told after 78, so you can always start fresh straight of the original. So to have a series and movie set after 78 is a no brainer, might not be the best titke for the movie but Halloween 1979 or 1980, tells you right away what you're getting and also adds to that "camp fire" aspect of someone or even a survivor telling their story, "halloween 1979 michael escaped"

And have a tv series be like an alternate sequel to 1978 original where he’s the main character instead of Laurie who can be just left alone and since not tied to Michael if 2 isn’t canon in this continuity Michael doesn’t have anymore interest in her as she was a lost chance of a victim thus he goes back to targeting random people because he’s the shape. The shape doesn’t keep grudges, he just adapts to every situation and doesn’t bother with the same targets if they aren’t easily to kill and thus can decide to move on from the fleeting survivors. It’s what John Carpenter intended for the character.

The first half of the season needs to be him in prison, get some good kills like take the essence from Rob Zombie's Halloween where they allow him to make masks because he's a kid, then like you said he sneaks at night yo kill that person with a mask on. Dr Loomis comes and gets him transferred to a psych ward or facility and he breaks out days later and makes his way to Haddonfield on Halloween and has his first Haddonfield kill. I do think it needs to be Lori Strode due to her being his sister. Maybe the whole season could be where he keeps eluding Dr Loomis trying to find Lori and the last few episodes it would be her fighting to stay away and ending the season with her "killing" him so then you can have a second season.
I did watch a show called Heels which is a Starz original I believe starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig and I personally enjoyed it quote a bit

I don't think that it might be an actual prison remember in the tv cut of the original Halloween during a court hearing after six-year-old Michael is sent to Smiths Grove. Loomis asks the doctors to have Michael transferred to a maximum security facility in another town and claims that Smith's Grove security isn't sufficient enough to deal with Michael. It could be that after the events of the original Halloween from Michael's escape from Smith's Grove to the murder spree he committed in Haddonfield on Halloween. That they take Loomis' warnings to heart and transfer Michael to the institution that Loomis had recommended in the tv version's scene I can't see them going from having Micahel in an insane asylum to an actual prison.

Shared universes are tiresome. I don’t mind a tv series spin off, but why does the tv show need to be interconnected to any future movies?! Gonna be the same problem with Marvel. Honestly a tv show based on Michael Myers and Halloween should be like the upcoming Camp Crystal Lake series where it’s its own thing that doesn’t connect to the movies. The Halloween franchise can have 2 simultaneous continuities at the same time and people wouldn’t have issue with it. Also, I’d like a separate tv show spin off about the Season of the Witch universe or a anthology with some episodes about Michael and some about other strange stuff on Halloween like other serial killers or some potential supernatural phenomena like ghosts, monsters, unexplainable occurrences, etc.
To be honest, I didn’t care for Jamie Lee Curtis in the new Halloween trilogy that Green did. She just didn’t have that same energy from the 1978 movie or even part two. If they’re doing a reboot, they should set it after the events of Halloween 2 and say Michael killed Laurie(off screen of course). They could then use Jamie from Halloween 4 as the new protagonist that Michael targets. They could even explore the whole connection angle that happened between Jamie and Michael. But, this time they could use that connection as Jamie’s advantage against Michael to save people or thwart his plans. Many fans hated the Thorne trilogy but I thought it was a great concept with poor execution and bad storytelling. If they wanted to, they could even use elements of that Thorne trilogy to create new story for the reboot. There’s literally endless potential but whatever they decide to do with the Halloween franchise, they’ve gotta keep the same directors and tell a more uniform story across all movies. The continuity errors of the original movies is quite possibly the worst of all horror films. They need the same vision across all movies going forward.
